I don't get the many faces Disney Princesses get when they are from 3D movie, why they don't use the 3D asset, there is already head sculpted in 3D why bother making others 🧐
I know they tried to do a 3D sculpt with the Belle doll from the live action Beauty and the Beast movie and it did not end up well so perhaps that’s why?
Oh my God, I didn't see anything about your mom. I'm so sorry :( My father passed away suddenly in 2017, so I understand how it feels to lose a parent. It's true, you think that your parents are always going to be around, especially when they're not elderly, but you never know what can happen. Maybe some of your other family members have some pictures of your mom they can share with you. I know it's going to be hard for a while, but trust me, every day gets a little easier. As for Rapunzel, this one definitely has the most movie accurate face. I think the problem with the Disney Store one is that her face is still kind of narrow and the eyes are too wide horizontally. But I also agree that she doesn't seem to be worth $30, especially compared to Ariel. Even knowing that they were aiming for a younger demographic on her doesn't really make up for that because it's not like Ariel was sold specifically on Mattel Creations as an adult collector doll, she was on shelves just as readily as this Rapunzel. Mattel is always so inconsistent with their price vs value XD
Thank you, Kelsey, and I’m so sorry about your father too 😞 Yeah it’s been hard and surreal, I still can’t believe it’s real. Rapunzel really is gorgeous and her dress is fun and poofy with a great design but I agree that Mattel’s prices just don’t make sense.
So her skin tone is very different than the Barbies I have. She has a more yellow tone than my Millie Barbie (and my Mille Barbie has a more rosy pale complexion), but my Kira Barbie who is a bit more tan is still darker than Rapunzel but there’s more brown tones to my Kira Barbie. If you can find a MTM Barbie that has yellow in the pale, then that would work. The only MTM Barbie I have is the red head curvy Barbie in yoga clothes but she too has too much rosy complexion to have worked for Rapunzel.
