Here in Australia the Government has been importing 100's of thousands of skilled labors into this country each year from up-and-coming nations. The most impressive skill was the attempt to slide a 70cm round log into a 60cm hole. 10 out of 10 for the great hand signals. Great enthusiasm when climbing into chipper to show the log where to go. I would have never thought of that. Normally these skilled workers would be employed to travel down our highways in control of 60 tone heavy vehicles, it's great to see they have other great skill sets. Rumors are, that the 3 are applying to become international pilots for Quantas, Quantas is always looking to improve its standards with skills from other up and coming nations.

I love how much more trust, respect, and freedom they are given here. I miss those better times. The freedom given up for safety is not worth it at all.
Looks like they have no choices about having the required gear. I mean shredding a tree that size, no options are provided by the locals, the city? they can't leave it, don't have proper safety gear, doing the best they can?
@@BCGray10x Just pointing out some basic common sense learning items that can have positive effects on life expectancy. You may take them as recommendations and start your very own company with insurance rates on an all-time high.

I was waiting for them to lodge the log in the throat, drop it on a worker(s) or one of the cables getting snagged and pulled in, or one of the guys who jumped up on the chipper deck (NOT an erea designated for workers) to get sucked in as they scrambled to shut down 1800 lbs of razor sharp blades and cutting drum spinning at 16,000 rpm fed by hydraulic feed rollers which all takes several minutes to wind down. All in all, careless to say the least.
In some cases firewood is not even sold so it is necessary to dispose of the tree this way. We have a bunch of tree services around where I live, and the nearest sawmill is an hour and a half away. So if anybody wants firewood in the City here they would have to have it shipped. So in this case usually the tree services turn it all into mulch, and then they sell it to the city, or other third-party landscaping companies. I am not sure where this video was recorded, but I am sure that it is a similar case. Even though it gets blistery cold in North Carolina during the winter firewood is very hard to come bye. Of course the advantage for tree services is that they can charge their customers higher prices for tree work because that pretty much covers maintenance, and whatever mulch is left over that they don’t sell.
Sadly these numbnuts are here in Australia, Universal Tree and Yard Services based in Sydney, we have very strong OH&S laws here, virtually every law is either disregarded or broken in this video. The name of the business is seen on the shirt at 16:16.
