Izzy got me balls deep into MMA. I have become a big follower of the sport and even travelled from Nigeria to London to see Kamaru and Edwards fight last march. I love Izzy so much and it will be my dream and honour to see him fight live someday. The win over Alex was one of my highest moments in 2023. I honestly haven't felt that way before. One painful reality about humans that I had to accept is that people generally don't like stars that shine too brightly; "you're supposed to be like the rest of us, I hope you lose so you can be brought back to earth." That's why when they couldn't attack your accomplishments, they went after your character.
And when someone really hates your guts, finding fault in you is fairly easy, and that's why they had to nitpick posts from a decade ago to criticize the character of the man that you currently are. It's as is if you haven't been growing.
Just know that your real fans appreciate you for who you are. Yes, you have your occasional fuck-ups, but so do we all. What matters most is the legacy you are living and leaving - one of the greatest UFC champs to ever do it. I say champ and not just a fighter because you embody the champ lifestyle. You show us what being consistent truly looks like. If that's not the most important message to be spread today, I don't know what is.

Tbh Izzy, you're probably the reason I started watching UFC 5 years ago. I'd never tried combat sports, so I'm an absolute casual. Your fighting style got me curious, so I dove into the UFC world and have been rooting for you since. When Alex won in your first UFC fight, it stung like seeing a friend take a beating and it bothered me the whole day. But when you KO'd him in the rematch, I shouted in bed next to my GF at 6 am because im from Germany. However, when you fought Sean, I felt you were too cocky and unfocused, plus I didn't like how you treated your dog in that video. I was really mad when you lost, felt like you underestimated him. Given your active and successful champ years, one bad night is understandable and ofc I'm not mad anymore. Ik you don't even care.
Long story short, I wish you all the best for 2024. May your dreams come true, and your family and friends stay healthy. Sometimes, I wish you were more humble, but I accept you for who you are.
