I used to have one or these when I was a kid! I used to send it down a race track made up of table place mats strategically placed all over the living room floor...until my mum wanted the place mats back for dinner! Great job.
Great restore. It was almost like a chiropractic adjustment on the body at first. Thanks for sharing your work and the music by Dan Lebowitz is fantastic.
I really like the racing stripes. Electrical tape, who would have thought?! Great job again. It’s now not a Sunday morning without your channel. Thank You!
Hell of a transformation, those cars never looked so good ! You are right, the casting looks nothing like the real car but you built a super nice custom ! Well done 🍻
Yep, Nailed It Dude! I dig the Pine Lime an Stripes. Unreal Work MR. That Candy Style Paint is a Ticket for Redlines to Tweak Our Oldschool. Awesome Creation Matey
Maybe not one of the best Matchbox models but what a difference without all the horrible, yellow plastic. Like you say, even the orange glass looks better and the green paint is a huge improvement. The tape works well; have you just invented the "vinyl wrap"? Cheers for now,🍻 Dougie.
Great job with the pin stripes. I just did a Shelby got 500 and I taped off the stripes on the hood and painted them on using automotive pin striping as a guide. It was very tedious but the end result was fantastic
Excellent job buddy! Love the lime green! The Matchbox Javelin AMX always looked out of proportion to me as well. Of course the real 71 Javelin looked out of proportion too. Lolol . ROCK ON BROTHER 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Excellent job! Great idea with those tape stripes! Although you can tell it's supposed to be a Javelin, they just didn't get the shape quite right. Most Matchbox cars are just spot-on, it's strange when you see one that's not quite right...
Love it!, nifty idea with the electricians tape, plus it comes in colours other than black, so essentially its the same as adding vinyls. might try that on one of mine.
@@MatchboxResurrection - i keep wondering so i have to ask, where are you?, im thinkingpossibly Germany or the netherlands by your accent, but ive been wrong inthepast, lol, i thought Nicks toy garage was romainian.
@@GodPikachu Lolol Yep, you are wrong again... I'm originally Spanish, born in Madrid but I live in Sheffield, U.K. now. Where's Nick from? I can't figure his accent either lol

"Believe it or not, I have 6 different hammers." (Continues tapping with pliers)..."*Six*" 😄 Seriously though, love the color choice, the electrical tape worked great, and the detailing is excellent. Such a great job!
That's a fantastic custom job on that Javelin Juan , l think it came in that lime green if l remember correctly, but not those racing stripes 😉..... great job 👍
Thanks Jerry. Yes it did come in lime green. That's what gave me the ida as it looked better than the blue one, specially with the orange window. As for the stripes it was a last minute idea but it worked.... I think.... lol. Cheers mate
Uh, the Javelin...! One classic american muscle car, an attemp between lines of Mustang, Camaro, Barracuda. That lime green looks fantastic and I have a doubt if clear coat over the black stripes would make them look even better or maybe cause a reaction to peel them... I will try soon. Greetings, Juan, very nice job 👍
Nice job Juan! This is one of your best! But it seems like that I say that about every video! Great idea with the electrical tape. Anything can be used as a hammer! haha!
Excellent job bringing another treasured toy back to life. I didn't catch the name of the paint you are using so could you please tell me the manufacturer of the paint plz?
2 thumb's up juan, really love the color and stripes ,love that car ,I just ordered 2 from crazy ebay im gonna do one custom and the other will be restored original ,on the custom one like u said I am gonna get rid of that funny hood scoop and add putty to make it a flat and add some chrome wheels ,you should do the same cause I love watching ur vids, anyways take care and let me know if u are restoring another one,,, Mark F.
Thanks Mark. I don't think I'm gonna do another one for a while as I've got a lot of projects lined up at the moment but if I do another one it'll be without the hood scoop for sure. Have fun with yours mate
I had one of those when I was a kid. I was never keen on the colour and yours looks miles better, I love that green! The stripes work really well and your fine detailing is excellent as usual. Nice one mate!
Well done Juan. The paint and striping es muy excelenté. Maybe in the future you can do a tire swap to a less modern but classic look.Tried to watch your video three times but alas I dozed off. It was a busy weekend!😉😃😴
Your design choices were excellent! If I had a suggestion to offer it concerns the gigantic scoop which is out of your control! Would a gold scoop top matching the rest of the car body have been of interest? Just a humble suggestion! The car looks fabulous!
Actually, never thought to do anything with it..... Could have been a great touch and it would have looked great with the green and the orange windshield. Cheers Andrew
It will of course, but for the time being looks cool and I always can change it on a later day. It's all about living the moment and having a bit of fun...
Yes Eric, they are not that hard to find but they aren't cheap either and they come from the states so postage is high too. I think I'll make my own ones lol
Absolutely love it, Juan. The black electrician tape is right out of the matchbox factory playbook (stickers)--brilliant! What's more, there are many different colours available in the automotive world as well, so you have plenty of choices for other projects. As for the paint itself, looks great. What pressure do you set your air compressor at (just bought one myself)? You don't seem to have a lot of overspray, which is ideal. I figured around 15 psi?
Hi Luc. Thanks for your comment. My compressor is only a cheap one and you can't change the pressure. I usually thin the paint quite a bit and press the trigger almost all the way down and then start pulling back till I find the sweet spot (Pressure/Paint/distance)
@@MatchboxResurrection , I see. So this explains why your spray technique is light, gradual and consistent. Well, that cheap compressor does the job alright. At the end of the day, a double action airbrush/air compressor combo is only as good as the user; you have certainly proven that. My air compressor is adjustable, so I'm going to experiment and see if I can achieve the same results with a single action, siphon-feed airbrush, which is easier to clean and maintain. (I want to be able to model anywhere I choose. Should be possible from what I've seen on various airbrush-specific RUclips videos.) Have a nice week. Look forward to your next project!
Fantastic job.
Thanks Dan

I'm liking that, the black stripes break up that hood scoop, which always looked OTT. The new wheels look great too.
I know what you mean. To be honest the whole car seems a bit out of proportion and very high too
Looks really good and the tape looks a lot better than I thought it would.
