Our Benchmade experiences mirror eachothers. I started off with the 910 Stryker. Carried that blade for about 10 years. Retired it recently with an 810 Contego. Last week bought a 950 Rift, and I am in the process of purchasing a 710!
I'm going to rotate between my 810, 710, 950, and 583 for EDC. All great knives. I have to say I like the old school G10 feel of the 710. Reminds me of the stryker. Thin in the pocket, too. Unlike the Contego and Rift.
Anyway, thanks again for a great review.

Wow - maybe we're related? The 710 is still my all time favorite EDC - very large but carries like a smaller knife. Enjoy!

the contego is made of M4 which is not stainless - the rift has 154CM which has better stainless properties.

Right now my top five are BM 710 in M390, Large Sebenza 21, DPX HEST 2.0, Emerson Horseman, Paramilitary 2.

I admit this is an interesting blade - overall, you do have some very nice blades. Keep them coming :)

you should check out my comparison video of the 950 vs the zt0550. You wouldn't think so but they compare well and the field test results were surprising. Check it out!
