    Okay, someone like to help me ? Is Cox doing martial arts besides acting ? It is rare these days having actors like van damme or statham, jackie chan etc. I like charlie cox, good guy. Will watch the whole daredevil series soon.

      He did a lot of martial arts training in preparation for the role of Daredevil, and performed a lot of his own stunts too, but he isn't a genuine martial artist in the sense that guys like Jackie Chan and JCVD are. I highly doubt that he has a black belt in anything, but he did do a lot of martial arts and parkour training for the role. However, he is simply just an actor training for a role - he doesn't dedicate his life to it in the same way those other guys you mentioned did.

      @@kingofthering3343 I agree. However, I think it should be noted that Charlie Cox is a WAAAAY better actor than Jackie Chan or JCVD. Usually you get a martial artist who is just a passable actor (if that), or you get an actor who lets his stunt double do all the action scenes. Charlie tried hard to do as much of the action sequences as he could (and as they allowed him to do); which is rare, but no he's not a martial artist. He had a LOT to learn to portray this character; how to act blind (which includes stuff like how to use a cane properly, how to look like he's reading Braille correctly, how to make his eyes look like he's really blind). Then he had to do stuff like learn to speak with an American accent, work out on a regular basis to buff up, be able to fake some boxing; there was a lot. Plus, he was actually playing two roles: Daredevil and Matt Murdock, and with MM there came the lawyer stuff, as well. So no martial artist who wasn't a real actor would've been able to pull all of that off, no way. Charlie Cox was a rare case of an actor who was able to not only do a phenomenal job portraying this character, but was also able to pull off doing a lot of the action scenes, as well.

    Damn. I was kinda hoping he had more respect for the arts and not just doing it for a role.

      I mean, if it is how he said, he could be doing 10 different types of martial arts, if he had to throughly learn about all of them, he'd had no time to actually learn his lines... At least he's trying to do them, not knowing exactly what type of fighting he's doing doesn't mean he doesn't respect the art of it ,at least that's my opinion

    • @bi1itis
      @bi1itis 2 года назад +16

      @@paulagarcia9242 Agreed. As a martial artist myself, I don't think he's disrespecting the art. He sells it enough on the show that I don't even care, and the fact he's dedicated enough to even do it himself is good enough for me. Besides, the arts get more exposure, and I think that's a win for everyone if more people show up at a school wanting to learn because of watching him.

      I know you posted this a long time ago, but just want to add (with the benefit of recent updates) - he definitely does respect the arts. You can find training footage of him just a few months ago at an MMA gym in Ireland doing some striking training. Plus his old PT in America has said Charlie used to do pad-work for muay thai as well as Weight-Training. He's genuinely probably one of the most committed marvel/DC actors to their characters, a lot of the other MCU guys let their stunt doubles do both the fight work and stunt work, Charlie does as much of it as he can.
