You know what? You would be a fantastic counselor. Maybe helping younger people with mental and physical issues. You would understand their mindset, and you have a compassionate, positive, and caring nature, coupled with a steely determination. Onwards and upward, stay strong. I will continue to pray for you.❤

You are special. Your light shines brightly ❣️ I am almost 67 yrs old and have been through many similar things. ie; 5 spine surgeries, kidney issues. I was in rehab for over 9 weeks, relearning how to walk again, the whole while, being told I was there to learn how to live in a wheelchair. I was also in the hospital this past winter & spring with sepsis. In April, my kidneys shut down. Not quite 4 years ago, my husband of 33+ years passed away from cancer. I have been dealt some bad hands, but like you, I have always tried to find something to fight for. At your age, I remember "fitting in" seemed to be more important than anything. To realize this, is over half the battle. Keep on keeping on and don't forget, you are special. ❤ And your whole life is ahead of you. 😎

Your video detailing what happened to you (from a few years ago) randomly showed up in my timeline and I watched it all the way through. It blows me away to see how far you've come since then and how you've finished your first year of college.
You're truly inspiring and I wish you all the very best with the amazing future that I know is ahead of you!

Wow girl you are the strongest person I’ve seen maybe ever. Can’t compare it, won’t even try. I know you’re just living your life, but thank you for sharing so openly. Being sick can be so isolating. Your girl was THERE for you, wasn’t she? What a beautiful relationship, the love is obvious. I’m a new follower, thanks again, may you feel healing in this season🙏💕❤️‍🩹

This was the best video you have made. Before I go on, I just want to say how awesome Avery has been. So precious and real. I have been unable to walk and stand for more than a few minutes for 3 yrs now. You acted so positive I was getting depressed because I didn’t feel as positive as you seemed. Finally you told us all your truth and now I feel hopeful and not alone. I pretend to be positive most of the time until I break down and sob. Then I am better for a while. So bottom line is that what you did making this video meant the most to me and helped. Please continue to be real. I am a very positive person but the struggles are real. You really help others when you say what is really happening. It’s not a sign of weakness. In my eyes you are stronger and even more beautiful for having made this video. Heart felt thanks and may the best of life be yours. God bless you.

Hey friend, you’re not alone. As a 27 year old male, Ive been struggling with foot pain due to foot weakness for the last 2+ years. I can barely stand and walk for more than a few minutes as well. Ive been unemployed this entire time. Slowly making progress thanks be to God. Been working hard day in and day out getting this foot stronger and out of pain. I pray that you continue to do better and make progress in your situation. God Bless.

I was thumbing through my dictionary for the meaning to the following words... PRETTY, LOVELY, COURAGEOUS, BOLD, BRAVE, WINNER, OVERCOMER, MORE THAN A CONQUEROR AND TRULY INSPIRATIONAL and the definition it gave me for each word was SYDNEY FOWLER... May GOD through JESUS continue to guide you and keep you in ALL that you do 🙂

There are so many things i want to say but don't have the words. But mostly, just thank you. Thank you for sharing and for being so real, with yourself as well as us. For showing people that they're not alone, that even the strongest and most positive people struggle sometimes, and that life with disabilities isn't all sunshine and rainbows *or* doom and gloom. All that is so needed.
I'm not a wheelchair user (although at times probably should be), but have multiple chronic illnesses and can relate to so much of what you say here. Trying to be 'normal', feeling like a burden, searching for control, etc etc. Moving to college is hard enough for anyone, without all this! The amount you've dealt with this year (and in general) is incredible, and to come through it with so much self insight, so real and also wanting to help others is if anything even more so.
I really hope this surgery is your last and you can have an amazing summer, and begin second year feeling refreshed and your best self. I'm so glad you have Avery and everyone around you, that makes the world of difference. You are amazing, keep being you ❤

Dear Sydney, I am so sad to hear how low your spirits became. Mental health is so difficult to cope with. And clearly an eating disorder is completely related to your then mental health condition. There is no logic involved. I am so pleased that you have good friends and family to help you get through this. And of course your faith. No one is immune to problems like this.
It is so good to see that you are recognising and dealing with the problems. However (please don't take this the wrong way) you will probably encounter setbacks in the future. If that happens, please do not blame yourself, or isolate yourself. Lean on God, lean on your family, lean on your friends. No matter how bad you feel, you are not alone. We all love you.
And finally, thank you Sydney. Thank you for opening up to us. I hope it helps you, and I am sure it has the potential to help others that are going through dark times.

Oh Syd I'm so sorry that you have to deal with so much medcal stuff, and during your first year of college!! You are so blessed to have a friend like Avery, she is just as adorable as you❤
I understand feeling like a burden, it can really weigh down your spirit. I am actually dealing w an eating disorder for the first time at age 47, it's so unexplainable. I think it's amazing how well you are handling all these things at once. I pray that Jesus will hold your hand and heart through it all❤🙏

Powerful stuff Sydney. I watched the video so enthralled. You've had to deal with many difficult things in your young life.
We, your RUclips fans, want to give you a big, collective, figurative hug.
If i can give my two cents worth of advice, it sounds like being at home gave you much needed physical and mental rejuvenation. Maybe this summer you can capitalize on that again. And lastly, don't get good at hiding painful thoughts. Find people you can let it out with.
    Sydney=Next Level!

So sorry you have been through this. I always thought you seemed so positive and just loved life. It’s good that you can share this to help others. You can put a brave face on but inside you are crumbling. What a good friend Avery is to notice that you were not ok and she was able to tell you. You would make a very good mentor/counselor Hope you can see the end of the tunnel. All the very best for college. ❤

Well done for making this Sydney! I'm sure it was hard to make and it was certainly an emotional one to watch 😢 I'm sure this video will be a big help to people facing a similar situation, especially people your age with the added pressures of collage and all that entails.
I'm SO pleased to hear that you're feeling better now, and that you're aware of how to stop yourself going back there. As you said in the video, when you look back you know a lot of the thoughts are irrational, but at the time they all seem very real.
What you said is absolutely the key though, we can't change a lot of what happens to us in life, so we have to try and make the best of it as much as possible, however hard that is at times.
I always pray for you, but I will be saying extra prayers for your finals, and most of all your upcoming surgery. Hopefully they get it sorted once and for all, and it won't need too much bed rest to heal. 🙏🙏 God bless and look after yourself.

Sydney, I just found your posting tonight, 6-12-24. You are an Amazing, beautiful, young lady!!!! Welcome to S.C. By the way! I’m so glad you had a wonderful first year of college! You picked a remarkable school too! You are such an inspiration to anybody that reads your life’s story. I would never have guessed Staph had become your enemy; I was thinking meningitis got a hold of you. I’m so glad you found the perfect Neurosurgeon & hospital!! If you had stayed in that waiting room in the small hospital you would not have survived the 2 hour wait!! I’m so glad you had a wake-up call!! You are way, way too Smart, beautiful & brought up with knowing who God is to waste your sweet time on trying to change your beautiful self, personality & soul to be somebody else! Your personality when you were 13 was bubbly, outgoing, smart, happy & Grounded!., I’m so happy you found your way back home to that sweet girl!! Sydney, you are an inspiration to all who finds your story; you were to me! I have depression & it takes a toll on your body & you touched me in your vlog about your mental & physical self! I thank you! I would love to know your major; it would be helping someone find their way in life! God bless you & your Mom & Dad!! They love their baby girl! You can just tell ya’ll are “good people”!! That is what we say about families in the South!! Please keep us up to date on your life & know I will be praying for you!!! P.S. Is there any PT that could find you a certain pillow to sit on so your hip & skin tissue wouldn’t break down causing the sepsis? I’ll research that for you & Blessings from Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, jean smith🥰🥰
