This looks promising but I lost the immersion of the story by the female dubbing a mans voice. The same effect would occur if a man dubbed a woman. A quick fix is to remove all dubbing and just use captions. Captions do have their downside as far as missing the action by reading at the same time but it's better than the current dubbing distractions.

This is about war. In WW1, in a town in the nothern Carpathians, called Przemysl, was a fortress called Osowiec, which was held by Russians during said war. The Germans attacked that fortress relentlessly because of a major strategic point of interest. During their next to last attack they used chlorine and mustard gas as means to conquer it. In their advance they thought nobody had survived but from the Russians some were, to their surprise, still alive. Burned by said gas, coughing blood, parts of lungtissue and barely alive they tried to fight back. That sight drove the Germans temporarily off. The fortress was at last conquered.
As my personal opinion: This is loaded with pro russian semtiment. (Obvious, I know) Otherwise there is no need for a film like that. WW1 was a war with everyone empathetic joining in. Noone fought that war out of pure defensiveness (except Serbia and Greece). The Russians commited murder, same as the Brits, French, Italian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Austro-Hungarian, German, Ottoman and every other participant of that war. War related heroism is by far the worst choice to bring up a pro sentiment for any side. To clarify russian war goals of WW1: - Ice free harbours - Reign over Constantinople for free shipping in and out the Black Sea - Influence on slavic balcan population under their understanding of panslavism - reducing Ottoman Influence in the Caucasus region, while keeping Azerbaidshan oilfields save.
@@drbolle5992 Do you know anything about the song? Your little rant makes no sense, if you do. It's about the horrors of gas In war, and overall very anti war.
The fortress was never conquered, because of the major change in the strategic situation it had to be abandoned by the russian troops because their continued stay there served no strategical or tactical purpose
It was never conquered though? Russians abandoned it themselves soon after that battle, but not before detonating it themselves, so it couldn't be used against them.

This is a Russian/Polish way of dubbing, where you can hear an original sound in the background. It sounds weird if you are not used to it. So get used to it. I persanally liked it, but I always prefer subtitles over dubbed version.
A small thing that mortifies me is the soldiers that were alive but hurt or injured so they just died of bleeding out, starvation or the next battle or were just never noticed. They could’ve also been left to die due to the battle or people being scared to go and help them.

Hope they use Sabatons song in the final product
I should have read the comment first before watching the film. I would have chosen the subtitle over dubbing. Now I cannot unheard what I had heard. That kids' voice in a grown man will give me creeps when I sleep tonight.
ALL HAIL! Bow your heads and Remember them! The deaths of the soldiers! Bravery come to those that are in the most dire need, and the have these't amount of hope.
Excellent film! The dubbing was as good as it can be. I prefer it to sub titles. If I want to read I'll wait until the book comes out.
What to do during a Chlorine gas attack:
-Google: Wear a gas mask.
-Bing: You are going to die, but you're too angry to die.
This is the most exciting movie I've ever watched
This looks promising but I lost the immersion of the story by the female dubbing a mans voice. The same effect would occur if a man dubbed a woman. A quick fix is to remove all dubbing and just use captions. Captions do have their downside as far as missing the action by reading at the same time but it's better than the current dubbing distractions.
just watch the original ffs ypu dont have to watch the dub
I hear ya, but they made it clear about the dubbing issue already.. understood - I had to enforce severe `willing suspension of disbelief`in order to get through *& past that part! lol.. Anywho, it all worked out in the mix.. (I write music & oft have to do the female harmonies for them to hear & learn from.. mostly falsetto, but its just a road map, and suffices for that purpose - I think here is the same in a way - for the time being.. ;^) .. well, actually, this is still a bit of a stretch! hehe
People in the comments complaining about the dub being bad but i kinda appreciate it, but to be real the dubbing was awful but i like hearing Russians and Germans speak english and know what is going on
In the 1980’s I worked at an oil refinery in Southern California. We used chlorine gas in some processing of fuel. I got a small wiff of it, it burned my throat and eyes. Terrible stuff ☠️☠️
I can not imagine anything more terrifying being one of the Germans during this event. I would not be surprised if some thought hell had opened up on the battlefield
Does anyone know who plays "Your Honor" and the old man? Good actors and curious to see if they have other films
I don't know if you'll read this 3 years later. And are you still interested in this? Hope you're doing well. Lieutenant Kotlinsky - Ivan Dobronravov. Arkhip - Alexander Vdovin. Greetings from Russia.
@@genjfox5436 privet. Spaseeba. Great Actors. And hope you are well
Anyone else curious about how there has been no movie about this yet? I mean, come on, this would be watched a LOT. The story is already something out of a movie.
It was truly heart touching 👍🙏 ,
I'm gonna love this!

Funny how the battle scene was better than most actual war movies with massive budget
when russians become defensive ...only GOD can break that
This is about war.
As my personal opinion:
This is loaded with pro russian semtiment.
To clarify russian war goals of WW1:
- Ice free harbours
- Reign over Constantinople for free shipping in and out the Black Sea
- Influence on slavic balcan population under their understanding of panslavism
- reducing Ottoman Influence in the Caucasus region, while keeping Azerbaidshan oilfields save.
Russians abandoned it themselves soon after that battle, but not before detonating it themselves, so it couldn't be used against them.
the best movie, documentary ,of all times
Now we need a Sabaton Official Music video of this!
Guess what sabaton fans say less but
The Attack Of The Dead Men
Song by Sabaton
Turmoil at the front
Wilhelms forces on the hunt
There’s a thunder in the east
It’s an attack of the deceased
They’ve been facing poison gas
7000 charge en masse
Turn the tide of the attack
And force the enemy to turn back
And that’s when the dead men are marching again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the led once again
Hundred men
Charge again
Die again
Two combatants spar
Hindenburg against the Tsar
Move in 12 battalions large
Into a Russian counter-charge
They’ll be fighting for their lives
As their enemy revives
Russians won’t surrender, no
Striking fear into their foe
This is a Russian/Polish way of dubbing, where you can hear an original sound in the background. It sounds weird if you are not used to it. So get used to it.
I persanally liked it, but I always prefer subtitles over dubbed version.
At least we know how it feels for Russians having to learn English through this kind of thing
This short film would be much better with English subtitles and it should be made into a feature film.
A small thing that mortifies me is the soldiers that were alive but hurt or injured so they just died of bleeding out, starvation or the next battle or were just never noticed. They could’ve also been left to die due to the battle or people being scared to go and help them.
AND THATS WHEN THE DEAD MEN ARE MARCHING AGAIN.
thanks world of wraships for making this video and i enjoyed i. i was searching for this attack of dead men history
Well done great short movie loved it.
Russians are tough SOB's :>) they have Courage of LIONS:>) and hearts of HONOUR.
3:23 you can't be serious... 😂

"Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men charge again, die again"
that dubbing is brutal.
I kinda wish I could watch he undubbed version, just with subtitles instead. This is still quite good, though.
But you can watch Russian version and turn on English subtitles
