    Love this! I’m a 30 year old mother to 2 young kids (6 and 4), studying for the mcat, and finishing my last semester of my masters. It’s a lot but my husband is very supportive!

    I’m 37 and I am pursuing a medicine degree. I work full time have bills and a mortgage. I really want to do this, but I am worried how I am going to make this work. Hopefully I get accepted, I am focusing on doing the subjects to meet the prerequisites. Please do a video that help mature students get into medicine. So courses or extra curricular activities we can do that help us get in. Hoping my completed degree in social work helps me to get in.

    Hi brother 7 years in the Corps here. I hope you’re doing well. I’m not sure if you’ll see this, but if you do, I was hoping I could pick your brain for a bit. I’m 30 and looking to go to med school but hoping to start a family with my girlfriend here in the next five years. I would like to do it outside of the military system if possible. Would love to just hear some more advice. Let me know. Thank you for these videos they help. 🙏🏽 Semper Study

    Thanks so much for sharing I really want to get into med school, but of course all the life responsibilities make me so guilty.. and even though it’s my dream career, my priority is having a good family and a baby, which seem very conflicting ideas. But finding another person who’s done all these, while taking care of the family priority, it gives me so much hope

    So glad I stumbled upon your vid man, I’m a new nurse but ever since I began my journey I felt like I was leaving something on the table (becoming a doc) and seeing you making it with all your responsibilities I think there’s no excuse for me not to at least try

    I’m 22 and my GPA is bad and I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I’d try to run myself into the wall over and over to study but I’m able to have many other attributes that I’m very successful in. I just am not sure where to go to increase that GPA (post baccs and such) but seeing other people successful won’t this takes my mind from “is this still possible?” To “this is incredibly possible.”

    did you take your prerequisites online or at a community college? I'm trying to figure out how to best take classes while working full time.

    • @frankroberson641
      @frankroberson641  3 года назад +6

      I actually took at both! My schedule wouldn’t allow some classes to be taken at my main college campus so I was dual enrolled at a local community college. Should’ve mentioned that!!

    I'm 31, quickly approaching 32, and am starting my premed courses next month. I have some college years under my belt from over a decade ago but I'm still nervous. I will be continuing to work full-time as a postpartum doula and have four young kiddos so I expect to be very busy. This video and many comments make me feel a bit less alone. Thanks for that!

    Hello, I am graduating my ASN. I think I want to finish my BSN and then go back to school for med school. I can work 12 hours a week as PRN. I can do it once a week for 4 times a month or I can group all four shifts.
    Does that sound doable?

    Very inspiring i am in a similar position as a female with a full time job atm going into med school soon. And evaluating which job should i prepare my self to go with once i start med school. Bartending goes against my religious beilifs. I wish i can find something similar that has money and flexible. Unfortunately dont know much about cars. Any ideas of similar flexi jobs that can bring in enough money whilst juggling a degree.

    I am sure I have adhd. Also I am right brain 🧠. Can people who are more creative study medicine? I am extremely visual. I studied accounting which is for left brain people but I didn’t like it at all , I just did it for my parents.
    However I have 3 years full time working as a hemodialysis patient care technician but the hours I just can’t handle anymore 4am to 6pm.
    So thinking about working as a nanny to save some money for med school ( since I love working with kids 😅)
    Also , can I volunteer teaching English and Spanish? I always loved learning a second language and it is very easy for me to learn a language. Currently studying Italian and interesting in learning German 😊.

    What’s the first step for someone who is looking to change careers but my entire undergrad and graduate degree has nothing to do with medicine? Study for the MCAT? Take pre-requisites at a community college? Something else?

      As long as you have a Bachelors degree, all you would need to do is take all of the premed specific courses and take the MCAT. You can have a bachelors degree in any subject as long as you've also taken all of the premed courses and completed the MCAT. You may want to look into volunteering hours or clinical volunteer hours as well. For specific details on the exact classes you need, you should look up different medical schools that you plan on applying to and read up their admissions requirements on their website. They outline the premed courses they want you to have taken and the number of semesters in each subject they want. You should take these premed courses at your local community College.
