    Soleil, that battery-powered chainsaw was such a thoughtful gift from your husband, it sounds like he knows exactly how to make his favorite gardener happy! For me, it's frustrating when I have to stop what I'm doing because I need someone stronger (and taller) to help complete a gardening chore that I started. I bought myself a 14" electric chainsaw in the fall of 2021, and I absolutely love it! It's one of my favorite new gardening tools. Have a great week! ~Margie 🤗☃❄

    Good job with the electric chain saw. The tree really does look better and more balanced now. I was petrified the first time I ever used one (at age 68), but it was very easy and so helpful. Much easier than using a manual saw. I love to do something for myself if I can. You’re doing great on your garden. 👍🏼

    Soleil. I learned to cut my branches with a 3-cut process. First make your bottom cut. Next go out on the limb some and cut the weight off the branch. Finally come back towards the tree to make your final cut. It helps to take the weight off. Loving that chainsaw!

      Good tip! It dawned on me a few hours later that would have helped me as well. Live, try and keep on learning! 😉🌳🌻💐

    Remember the three part rule always when cutting large branches that the possibility of split taking down in 3 pieces prevents this main branch 2-3 ft middle section 6-8 in final cut

    Also remember not to cut to close you don't want to cut into the branch collar on your final cut

    Can you explain exactly what you do with the smaller branches you chopped off the big tree branch? You said you'll use it for a wildlife habitat or on a birm.

    • @Suburbanoasis
      @Suburbanoasis  Год назад

      I haven't gotten to it yet, but the wildlife habitat is just a pile of sticks that creates shelter from predators and for nesting. 🙃🌻🌸🌼

    On my parents property when trees were trimmed we would paint the cut part to seal it so it would prevent insects and infections in the tree.

    • @Suburbanoasis
      @Suburbanoasis  Год назад +1

      That definitely used to be the practice until it was determined that it actually can seal in moisture and cause decay and impede healing. Thr university studies now say to just leave them to heal on their own. 😀🌿🪻🌸
