    I think you really hit on why people love metalcore. Growing up and first hearing this in 2007 as a teenager for the first time, the peanut butter and jelly that was the back and forth between the harsh vocal and the cleans always has felt very dynamic. And that's before getting into all the elements that were being pushed into the style at the same time, such as: djent, breakdowns, and electronics. Core Kid for life at this point.

      You know whats funny is that I agree with you, but only in a sense. The early 00's of hardcore/metalcore had a lot of clean and harsh transitions that drove me BONKERS. My issue is when bands go from crazy heavy to crazy clean. It's too abrupt. It's like slamming on the brakes at 100 mph. Man I'm going and the SCREEEECH, now we're just chillin. For me what Architects always did best (and still do) is keep. THE. MOMENTUM. They have this fantastic ability to keep things moving. Most of it has to do with Sam's fantastic sing/scream which is able to infer tension and release at the same time. Either way, love me some Architects and while I was fine with them exploring other musical lanes (dont ever hate on a band for trying something new everyone) I'm glad they're back to something I can enjoy!

      @@jonathanolson1185 To each their own tastes of course. for reference, as a senior in high school my first ever show (at Disney World of all places) was Stick Stickly Attack Attack, so out of the gate it was pushing the extremes. Though BTBAM was probably the first music of this nature I ever digested and truly enjoyed (their Colors album as it released to be specific) I like those thin high's, but I get what you mean. It's a specific texture that certainly almost immediately became oversaturated. Of course the best ones still live on, and the bad ones are stuck on MySpace forevermore.

    I love this part. The silence added between drum strikes make them so much more brutal, like it's surgical.

    Haven't listened to architects in years! Cool to see they're still pushing their sound and making great music.
    Not sure if you've checked them out on live before but I'd love to see you check out the new Blood Incantation, would be especially epic if you watched the music video for The Stargate! Black metal fused with prog, with synth solos and ambient parts. Both brutal and beautiful. Their new album, Absolute Elsewhere, is two songs, The Stargate and The Message, each broken up in three parts. It's an incredible experience.

    Hey Geebs! I’m genuinely curious to how you’re able to not get copyright strikes for these kids of videos. I’ve always wanted to do analysis and reaction videos myself but am scared to have contentID and YT tear them down. Could you share any advice?

    • @TheJuanVargas
      @TheJuanVargas 6 дней назад +2

      @ do the claims negatively impact your channel? Would love to pick your brain on ways to have your channel supported even though there are claims on the video

    • @KeyOfGeebz
      @KeyOfGeebz  6 дней назад +2

      @TheJuanVargas it only impacts the fact that I cannot monetize those videos. Copyright claims mean that the owner or the publisher of the music and or the videos will get paid on the advertisement that runs.

      I think their other song seeing red has groove which is unusual for metalcore. But yeah I typically don’t like metalcore, don’t like the production, so overpolished in its tech engineering that it feels hollow.
