Since the making of this video, The car has made a 815 mile DRIVE to its new home in South Carolina! Thank you everyone who has followed this build series over the last 7 years! I'm excited for the future!
If it was April 1st, then this would make more sense. Zack, my rotary man!! We're all out here in shock. Christmas is ruined. Our holiday joy has been smashed!! On the other hand, I'm proud of you for selling that instead of the Model a, so good work!
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Though this story may be over. I will always remember you! All things considered its been a good run. Been watching since rose was still street driven, and have loved seeing your rotary and 80s content. However hard it was dealing with the expense's and unique challenges you were thrown into. I always found it inspiring and motivating to see you triumph. In the time I have watched you I have gone from wanting, to owning my own FC. And living my own rotary life in a way. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. Im looking foward to seeing what will come. Though I did originally come for the rotary, I am looking foward to what new story you will make for yourself. So have a merry christmas! And a happy new year!
I'll say it again. I found your channel through the rotary videos, but i am staying subscribed because i love all your videos. You're an amazing dude with passion for various cars!
Wow...an end of an era, to be sure...you've made the right decision, as cars aren't designed to sit and sit and sit...it'll have the attention it needs (and salt free roads) with your friend in South Carolina. Looking forward to the next big thing on your channel. :)
I had a feeling this episode would come one day. It was a good ride. Every time I buy a rotary I spend the whole time thinking about if I should sell it. Then when I do, I buy another one. But I think when I eventually sell my RX8 I won't buy another one.
Great video! Everything in life has a stage and clearly as of now you are ready to move on to the next one. Loved every video with the rx7’s but I am also looking forward to what’s next in your automotive journey.
Sorry to see your RX7 go. I had a 1984 13B RX7 in my 20's and I could say that I never really fully appreciated it. The car was surprisingly very dependable and a amazing driving experience. The engine sound from a rotary is unlike anything I have or ever will experience again. Unfortunately I live in California and I would stress every time I needed to get a smog for registration. The RX7 was my first Mazda car. Since then I drove a Mazda Protege and a Mazda Miata even though I grew up driving most Honda cars. Today I work on cars in my spare time and I own and drive a Honda Prelude, a Honda CRX, a Honda Accord and a Acura NSX but someday hopefully soon I will own another RX7 to bring back all of those fond memories from my past.
I had several RX-2's and an RX-7 in California. They eventually forced me out of them. I have since left California for a state with no smog. Really thinking of having one again, even if I have to rebuild it. They were amazing cars. I, too, owned them in my 20's. What a ride!
Variety is the spice of life. You've got your forever car (the Model A). It's time to explore a different community and try something new. It's the nature of a car guy that a project car is never done, and if by some miracle it is done you have to sell it and start anew on another project because you always have to be doing something.
Can't belive its been that long, so sad to see it go 😭😭 as I've said before- you were the main channel I watched for first gen content before I got my own back in 2020, just doesn't seem like that much time has gone by. Keep up the great content and I can't wait to see what's next!
I remember when I watched your videos when I first was getting into Rx7s and cars in general. Over the years your videos made get a deeper appreciation for the cars and even convinced me to buy one as my next car. It is an end to an era and a new beginning for sure and I wish you the best of luck man.
Zach. You have definitely learned a lot over the years.. I still have my 82 rx7 and am currently waiting to get restored back to glory.. if you need anything, dont be shy to ask, and someday when you want another Rotary, you know where to look.. In the meantime, turn the page and see what in the next chapter.. 😁👍
I remember this moment with my '93 NA Miata as my first car. Bittersweet.. Sold it because it was too much of a project to be my only car. I now ride a '16 Mazda MX-5 ND Miata with the 6MT as my daily and only car. Swapping one financial burden for another. Bought with 21K miles in '19 she's been nothing but a sweetie to me with nothing but basic maintenance with now 81K miles and counting. I'm sad to see you sell the RX-7. I don't think I'll ever own anything other than Mazda's because they speak to my soul so much. I really don't care about massive power even though I've driven fast cars. I'd say 99%+ of car guys always chase massive power instead of just enjoying what the manufacturer intended. To each their own but it's not me. I love my 160 HP ND Miata because I can drive like the wind with my foot welded to the floor, biggest smile on my face knowing that I can put all of that power down and manage it 100% almost 365 days a year. To me it feels like after you go above 450 - 500 HP in most cars the daily usability and fun of them goes down the drain. You have to really think and act carefully every time you put your foot all the way down, conditions have to be suited almost perfectly for your high performance more than likely summer tires, and then on top of all this you know that due to the extra power and speed, any mistake that's not caught is going to end up in a car written off in the very best case scenario. Don't get me wrong, I adore racing and motorsports. I grew up in karts (probably the reason the Miata talks to me and suits me so well) but as someone that'll probably always be poor, I have to think on a 1 car agenda. A track car as your only car is a terrible financial and practicality decision so that'll probably never happen. My real dream is to turn my ND into a rally car because I adore rally so much. But that's even more impractical than a track car because of the potential crashes and sheer wear and tear rally cars go through 🤣 As sad as I am to see the RX-7 go this was an awesome video and I wish you the best into the future. Just don't forget where you came from and that the RX-7 will always love you back 🌺
Yes . I had 87 rx7 Sport model(like GTU). Tough choice between MR2. Then in 93 got a used 88 MR2. Quite different but tossable country road cars. Grateful for both experiences along with owning 72 Camaro and 66 Chevelle SS 396 in youth . Also test drove the 70 GS and GTO 455 manuals, superb cars.
This video was sad but good, I feel weird inside but I hope for the best in the next chapter of your journey.Thank you for all of your hard work and showing that it is possible for someone to put out the best car reviews with limited resources. I didn't have to keep watching your channel especially since it was rotary based however you brought this great mix of top class work simplicity, and humility that kept me coming back. I look forward to continuing the journey with You. You have my respect and best wishes on behalf of the Honda Civic community. Who knows maybe the next time you're in Texas I'll have a project ready for your channel.👍🏾🔰🏎️🤜🏾🤛🏾
I can relate to this video very much. Still own my first car and still love. I really don't want to ever sell it. I'd like to keep it until the government bans ICE vehicles, or in other word, forever. But at the same time, I'd really like to experience owning other cars. I love mine, but I'd like something different every now and then. My mate is 24 and has owned more than 12 cars in his life. He's experienced so many different cars. It really broadens your horizon. Meanwhile I can't let go of my cars, which results in me not getting to experience many cool cars whilst I still can.
You were the first car RUclipsr I watched and the first RUclipsr that popped up when I searched RX-7 it was a amazing watching your journey with the RX-7s can’t wait to see what’s next
Zach shocked but not surprised. I know first hand the love hate relationships with RX7s. I've owed my FC for 4 years now and know it's a money pit. There will be a day I will end up selling it. When that time comes I will forever remember the fun and enjoyment I've experienced with the car. I am currently the third owner of the car and I was lucky to find the car is surprisingly good shape with no rust. My engine is currently being rebuilt with a street port and lighted rotors. I refuse to turbo it because it's enjoyable the way it is.
I went through this after owning S30 Zs for years....Moving on isn't so bad...I've owned so may platforms since then! I look forward to your future vids!
Saw later model rx 7 parked appears to be dead, sitting for months. Thinking of finding owner trying to buy it. Rip out rotary which do not last and dropping in honda or toyota 4 banger. Look good and reliable
If I get an RX7 FB, and I hope I do, I’ll swap the engine. But not an LS swap. I want the 13” wheels. The trick is to find a small RWD engine that fits in the bay without too much fabrication and that’s in the 100 to 150 HP range and has the same or near same dry weight as the rotary. Won’t be easy.
thanks for the goodbye tribute to the rotary life and your rx7 project......just want to let everone know, thanks for seven years of celebrating the rx7. But, this is goodbye for me, since I have absolutely zero interest in the other content for boring, run of the mill junk car reviews that now dominate this channel.....thanks again for a good run of rotary content.
Sad to see it go Zack. Long time subscriber and rotary entusiast here.. There is so many fun cars to drive out there, my -84 rx7 does rarely get driven these days since i bougth a Lotus Elise last year. I have considered selling but i have the privlige to store two entusiast cars so i keep it for now,.
That is a sweet car. It actually has real wheels and real tires, and it hasn't been lowered and riced out. In fact it doesn't look like it has been butchered at all. You don't see many cars like that anymore.
I've always wanted a 1st or 2nd gen RX-7, but never anything on offer in the condition I want at a price I've been willing to pay - or rather I don't want a convertable with an autobox and I don't want the 12A b/c I'm a mechanical doofus and I'd never be able to massage it on my own. Back when the first gen was new, I had high school friend with rich parents. He was allowed to select the car for his 16th birthday. I argued strongly for an RX-7, and pushed it to final contender - however, he ended up choosing a 200SX SL with automatic. He was that kind of kid.
I understand your decision, there's a lot of cars to try, unless you're a millionare you have to let go of something to gain a new experience. Keep the good content Zack. Your Rotary Life series were inspirative. Looking forward for a new content.
Ironically I’m 42 had an 87 rx7 in high school and always dreamed of owning a Porsche. Owned an rx8 recently and wasn’t the same. Now I’m a 944 owner and it’s a dream rx7 owners wish they knew. If he goes that way he will be very happy
I had a 83 gsl way back in the day. It was a pretty fun car. I had it when I was 18, I'm 40 now. I wish I had more knowledge about mine back then so it stayed stock. Really slow from what I remember but really agile. It ran better with the choke pulled out lol...

I definitely subscribed for the rotary content and don’t enjoy the general reviews as much, but they’re still good videos and I usually watch them. They are a truly unique and fantastic experience, but the pain to benefits ratio is just…. its too steep. It’s masochism.
My Rotary Life isn’t over though. ‘09 RX-8. Just had to go help the body shop unflood it. Apparently they didn’t think they had to let it warm up because “it was running perfectly”
I have a 83 Toyota celica it’s running ok but I don’t plan on selling it my parents keep saying get a new car but I already a part of me and my identity selling it would be like taking a part of me out of my life I’m sorry you had to sell yours

Where's it going in SC? I am up around Greenville and would love to see at some like Cars and Coffee of the Upstate.
7 years huh, I've been driving rotories for almost 40 years now. Still not bored.
I'll say it again. I found your channel through the rotary videos, but i am staying subscribed because i love all your videos. You're an amazing dude with passion for various cars!
Life is short and there are so many amazing cars to try out before we go. I feel is logical to own and sell many different cars, during our life.
Yes so many S/CUVs to try out, like the Telluride, Carnaval, Kona to name a few.
Wow...an end of an era, to be sure...you've made the right decision, as cars aren't designed to sit and sit and sit...it'll have the attention it needs (and salt free roads) with your friend in South Carolina. Looking forward to the next big thing on your channel. :)

There is something about the rx8 life… and I’ve owned more powerful and reliable cars than it
Great video! Everything in life has a stage and clearly as of now you are ready to move on to the next one. Loved every video with the rx7’s but I am also looking forward to what’s next in your automotive journey.
I adore how stock and good condition this is.

I'm in shock!!! Zack!!!! A piece of YOU has been removed. You had an RX-7ectomy!
Sad reality hit .
On the bright side it still runs good 👍
Post Rotary Clarity 😂
Bittersweet to be sure, I started watching for the rotary content but stuck around for the reviews. Looking forward to the future!

Gonna miss the rotary content but I wish you the best. You've come a long way.
Lol
I sold my rx8 and said I wouldn’t buy one ever… now I miss it 😢 , you will feel the same
I would love to buy a rwd celica, but modern comforts, safety and convenience will keep me buying newer vehicles
You should definitely try a z31 300zx
Such an emotional video but I'm looking forward to see what the future holds for you my friend🤙🏻

I’ll miss this era you had man. Been here for a while since rotary vids
Welcome to the club, always will love em but had to let them go

Originally came for rotary, stayed for your awesome car reviews. I mostly like jdm car reviews

Life's too short to stick to one car forever. Cherish the ones you get to know, the let them go to experience something new!
Yes no car is better
Really nicely done!! I have my car for 8 years and still love it just as much as the day I first got it (:
What a truly beautiful story
I’m not crying, you are! 😢
I sold both of my Rx-7 (86)(90) a few years ago and I regret it. I'm actually looking to buy another fc real soon.
Sad to see it go Zack. Long time subscriber and rotary entusiast here..

Make sure you put this on vin wiki, so that you can find it in the future if you do become a warehouse youtuber :)
your channel sure has grown though since i subscribed, on to bigger and better. i want to see where you go next. bring it on.
I feel like in Japan either a guy would just do minor stuff to his car or he would do everything to
I understand your decision, there's a lot of cars to try, unless you're a millionare you have to let go of something to gain a new experience. Keep the good content Zack. Your Rotary Life series were inspirative. Looking forward for a new content.
So right. onto the S/CUVs.
What will Zack get next? I think it will be a Porsche either 944 or Boxster. What do you think he will get?
Ironically I’m 42 had an 87 rx7 in high school and always dreamed of owning a Porsche. Owned an rx8 recently and wasn’t the same. Now I’m a 944 owner and it’s a dream rx7 owners wish they knew. If he goes that way he will be very happy
Very cool car, but I'm not going anywhere, gotta see what the next chapter has in store for you!
Bring the rx7 back !
I can't believe you've done this
I like Mazda but rotary engines are quite a pain.
I had a 83 gsl way back in the day. It was a pretty fun car. I had it when I was 18, I'm 40 now. I wish I had more knowledge about mine back then so it stayed stock. Really slow from what I remember but really agile. It ran better with the choke pulled out lol...
I had an 83 gsl. I was 18, I'm 40 now :) mine was white with the glass top still in tact. 220k miles before I finally sold it.
Hey there, I just bought my first Mazda FB and I'm super hyped. Sadly in Germany we only got brownish Interieur which is.. Grandma.
I would love to get an all Black interior and a trim between the taillights. Would you have any idea where I could reach out to get some of these parts? Thanks
Back in the day you gave me the confidence to buy my FC
I came for the Rotary content and stayed for the rest
Such a sweet car.. not practical at all but its so good !
My goal is to buy an fb rx7 in a few months. I've learned so much about rotary engines from you. The one I'm looking to get has a working omp but the owner said he is using a small amount of 2 stroke oil before filling the whole tank up. Is it smart to use a small amount of premix even if the omp is still working?
buy a 2002 ford f150 next :D
Get a z31! Join the darkside
You made the right choice. The Illinois' weather isn't too kind. The rx-7 now lives in retirement. I look forward to seeing whats on the horizon for the channel.
The R34 is legal in the states next year, of you're smart enough you can get one for a reasonable price. Even the GTR.
unless you have like at least 60k then keep dreaming
@@undersc0r that's reasonable for an r34
Idk an old integra GSR is pretty close to this
"Welllll?..... BYE!"
I think I have an extra set of door cards for that FB if you need them for your buddy
Are you going to get an EF ? Or something like an E30 ?? More modern ?
Get a UCF10 Lexus LS400, or UCF11 Toyota Celsior.
Song name at 0:09 I've been trying to find it for an hour now
Good Vid BTW
C4 corvette next?
Oh no! He's going electric ☹️
It's assume waking up that picture of the RX 7 everymoring.
BLASPHEMY!!!!!!
Cant wait to see wats next!!!!!
Keep it

Sad to see the old FB go, but happy to see you moving on.
whats the song at the beginning
WHY???
Damn
Farewell RX7
I have a 83 Toyota celica it’s running ok but I don’t plan on selling it my parents keep saying get a new car but I already a part of me and my identity selling it would be like taking a part of me out of my life
I’m sorry you had to sell yours
Porsche time?
Nooooooo
Every time we dump an old girlfriend and get a new one we never completely stop thinking about the old one.. well maybe sometimes we stop thinking about them. Have fun with whatever comes your way. Everything in life is temporary
