What is so amazing is how she turned on Sebastian as she set him up to have an altercation with Ronald. That is what spurned love does. She always thought that Sebastian would eventually settle into a loveless but convenient marriage but he would have love, no matter how perverse, for her only. She thought she too find herself in the same circumstances but she would have that perverse love for him only as they both jointly ran the Valmont Empire.
When Sebastian found true love, that ruined Kathryn's ultimate plan and lifetime desire. Hurt can turn into hate when love is spurned.
