    Before starting the engine select each gear in turn, but kick the gear change pedal half a dozen times in each gear. This will automatically tighten the belts and give good transmission and gear changes. From one who used to drive and then command them.

      Good call, but I had done that before we started out that day so it didn't need it again.

      No, he's not that helpful, tried to get her to drive into a large pothole... got her home safely, though.

      Flat out is 58MPH, but not for too long!
