If you feel like you are not getting good airflow at the nozzle it's something to try. Just be careful of any flareups and catching the tape on fire if you set your nozzle too close to the material and move too slow.
Hi Steve. Great review - you explained the air assist issue very clearly and made a great laser better. You hit all of the points I found plus more - especially the glossy light shield. Thanks for the cross-linkage to my video - hopefully, we can do more cooperations like this.😀
As you found in your review, there were a few areas to shore up, but overall it's a nice laser. I'm happy to send people to good information like yours and I welcome any chance we get to collaborate on projects!
Hi Steve .. I gave your tape-trick a try, and it seems like a great idea .. the weird detail I noticed was that my laser poked a hole through the tape "right up against" the nozzle wall ... very off-center .. I was really surprised. Does this seem 'normal'? OLM3 10w ... thanks!!
That is a little surprising. If it was a CO2 laser I'd suggest adjusting your final mirror. But in this case there is not really anything you can adjust.
It could be hard to troubleshoot it via the comments, but we have a facebook group where people share ideas as well as issues where we try to solve problems. facebook.com/groups/laserengravingcommunity
There were a couple of hiccups in this unit, and it was a pre-release one so hopefully in production the bugs are worked out. However if people run into them, I wanted them to know the fix. Overall once it's set up correctly, it's a decent laser in this price range.
I might try that tape over my nozzle. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the Driver Fix.
I'm glad it's helping!

Thanks for this complete review. You've provided good informations and fix! Thank you again.
Hello, very nice video. Can you tell me if the lens can be changed in this laser?
Yes it has a cover lens that you can swap out, but the inner focus lens is not something I'd look to change or replace.
Nice review, seems like a capable machine.
It really is a nice machine for the money. If you really want a cutting beast I would check out the 30w version!
That air assist fix is kinda redneck…. Welcome to the club… We use duct tape to fix anything.
Sometimes the simple fixes are the best ones!
I don't really want to buy a product that doesn't work as intended from the get-go. Do you know if they fixed the nozzle issue ?
@@gonzales2011 The newer machines have a smaller hole from what I have heard.
What is compatible rotary roller for this model?

So it wasn't tested at factory. That problem is really basic test
