I totally love my 11r. Its been worth the money. I've been able to stay in shape and improve my running times in the 5k all the way to marathon. If I'm recovering sometimes I'd rather just ride my GO though! Glad you like your elliptigo!
Thanks for the video! I bought a used 11R in March and LOVE it! I'm a long time marathoner (120 of them and a 50 stater), but injuries were making it hard to run. I have been able to ride the 11R and get a great workout in. I have always had a bike, but never liked biking. With the ElliptiGO, I almost feel like I'm running when I'm riding it. I also wear a garmin with HR and my HR indicates I'm getting a good workout. Not like running, but quite good. I've read that a 13 mile ride is similar to about a 10K run as a comparable workout. I'm eager to get back to running at which time, I'll continue to ride the 11R for additional conditioning.
That's awesome! It's such a great option when you can't run as much or when you want a lower impact alternative. Good to know on the comparable workout distance to a run!
I checked out the website and the bike that was the closest fit for me can't handle my weight. I'm 300 lbs and looking to lose weight, but the max weight capacity is 250 lbs. That sucks
Hi Lori! They do have a trainer you can get to hold it stationary and stay indoors. It takes a few rides to get the hang of balancing and jumping on and off, but it's a pretty quick learn. Just like riding a bike!
Thanks for the review looks like a fun ride . How has your Elliptigo held up ? Any parts needed replacement or things getting worn that may need replacing at a later date ?
It's held up really well over the last year especially with all the sand on my routes. There are some maintenance items to keep an eye on with every ride, like tire pressure and spokes, and others that you just need to calendar for every year like the oil in the back wheel well being replenished. While they're not intended to last forever, the manual they provide is very helpful for keeping it in good working condition for a very long time and they have great support for when you have questions!
I bought a used 11R and one additional thing for maintenance would be to clean the tracks regularly. Doing that will help the track last longer. Many people clean the track after each ride. I replaced the track (4 tracks) and load wheels (about $110) and it made a HUGE difference in how smooth and quiet my GO was after. Not sure how many miles you can expect to get before replacing those. I had a few wheels that were starting to crack and the track was getting fairly worn.
The 11R has the carbon fiber arms which absorbs some of the vibrations and makes for a lighter ride (I think the 11R is about 5 lbs lighter than the 8C). The 8c has aluminum arms. I've never ridden the 8C, so I can't speak from experience, but the carbon fiber arms and lighter weight were just a few of the driving factors behind me getting the 11R versus the other options. I hope that helps!

Short & concise, well done!

Are you still using this? What are your thoughts now?
Any maintenance update ? Any caveats ? Thanks !

Is the ElliptiGo easier to balance than a regular bike. Also, can it be stationary while in your house? Loved the video!!

Would you say that the 11r stride moves smoother then an 8c, because it looks like it does.
