      Thank you so much, Yes, I will always try to make the content such that it is directly applicable and useful for design engineers, by the way I'm not professor. I don't have PhD. should I do? 🤔

    Firstly, thank you very much for the detailed explanation. in 40:00 ; The concept of using an arrangement to secure the ball screw from the sliding plate moment is very useful for protecting the ball screw itself. However, I have a question about the guide blocks. Since they are constantly subjected to the moment forces, how can we ensure their optimal performance and longevity?

      Thanks,
      For LM guide and block
      1. Size of linear guide and block should be as per moment load and all the load (there is a dedicated video of LM guide and block size selection, also life calculation)
      2. Life should be enough (depending on application and duty, Just like ball bearings)
      3. Installation- Ensure the installation datums flatness and parallelism of each rails and blocks with others,

    Thank you for providing such valuable content.
    I truly appreciate it. I hope that you will also consider creating a lesson on how to choose rotary actuators.
    Currently, I am working on a project that involves rotating heavy loads while aiming for cost-effectiveness.
    My current idea is to use a cross roller bearing to support the load, but the calculations involved are a bit confusing,
    and I'm unsure about which option would be the most cost-effective.
    Your guidance and insights on this matter would be immensely helpful. Thank you once again for your contributions!

      Hi Le Minh Nhat, first of all, yes cross roller bearing is best investment for heavy rotary motion (Heavy axial and radial load),
      For ensuring the calculation.
      First select the bearing according to your shaft diameter and space and
      1. Check basic dynamic axial load rating of selected bearing from manufacturer catalogue, and calculate service life according to applied equivalent load.
      2. Ensure Bearing speed limit, and if speed is high, consider run-in procedure if required.
      Rotary actuators project: Sure, I'll consider in future project, but as for now, i have to say sorry. upcoming project schedule is full, Like Motor gearbox selections, all type of bearings selections, I hope u will enjoy.

    Thank you so very much for you conent, it is really helpful. However, the duty cycly term is confusing me here during the design, how can I check with my selection of the ball crew with the requeried duty cycle? I colud not find anything realted with HIWIN nor THK catloages.

    • @mastermechanicaldesign
      @mastermechanicaldesign  Год назад

      Hi Dxemus, I guess the duty cycle is How much time machine run in a day. Or in a shift. Like Hours per day. Which is directly connected with ball screw service life. More duty cycle means we should consider more service life of component

    Hello sir, can I use lead screw actuator for 2 metere square x y table???

    • @mastermechanicaldesign

      Yes of course, but performance will not be optimum. Please do consider the ball screw.

    Can you please explain Selection of Screw nut

    • @mastermechanicaldesign
      @mastermechanicaldesign  Год назад

      Hi Elavarasan, please excuse me for late reply, there is all already video on ball screw selection, Screw Nut is the Ball nut, for ball nut selection, only you have to calculate.
      1. Screw nut Diameter means Ball screw diameter.
      2. Screw nut lead means ball screw lead
      3. Screw nut grade means ball screw grade - C7, C10 etc.
      4. Acceptable backlash, ball screw acceptable backlash
      after that we select the ball screw nut model according to manufacturer catalogue.
