In Norcal and I can help with the I-5/Hwy99 Corridor between Redding and Oroville. Lots of elevation around the valley. Already working on getting a way to contact Chico from up in the mountains to the East. And my entire Lake Almanor basin now has Mesh. Pretty cool.
First questions I have are IOS or Android? I only ask because sometimes it can be an app issue vs. a firmware problem. Unfortunately, I don't have any Heltec devices to run tests on and not experienced your issue. Nonetheless, I will ask around and see if anyone else has experienced this issue.
Gryphon Group! The last time I was there we got to watch the space shuttle launch.

Well placed nodes could cover at least 10+ miles of I5. If you check sites like: meshmap.net/ We can estimate where there is some coverage is already.
I’m in the Salem area
Awesome, I grew up in the Estacada area.
Still using long fast but haven't made any contacts. Is everyone switching to medium fast?
The developer over at Meshtastic recommend people switch. However, for the part is seems that a lot are still on Long fast.
I am having issues with longfast - trying to fix location with no gps, heltek v3 seems to drop the set location after a random amount of time.
