Absolutely!! Otis said love was “dumb luck” in season 1 and that’s what this was…genuine, real love, whereas the really slow on and off thing with Maeve seems forced at this point! It ripped my heart out when he didn’t say it back but he needed to be honest with her…she needed to give him time to say it

Deep down I can see Otis actually loves her back. He never wanted to solve the problem face to face with Maeve (via text msg at S1 and their deleted voicemail at S2) but with Ruby, he wants to. But Otis is such a jerk, not only he was not able to reply to her love but he doubted Ruby's love for him. At that point, Ruby can give the whole world to Otis. Ruby deserves better...each and every time I watch that bedtime phone call scene and Ruby's face after hearing "That's nice" gets me..... Maeve is just like that girl always kind of in touching distance but shits always happen here and there makes her out of your reach. First is Jackson, then is Ola. Issac, Ruby, and studying aboard. And I don't see determination between Otis and Maeve, they just let destiny hit them and they are very comfortable moving on from each other. But with Ruby, Otis actually is quite determined to stop their relationship going to the causal and physical ONLY. And it takes a lot of courage and determination for Ruby to open up to him.
I also think after getting rejected(?) by Maeve it’s harder for Otis to say I love you and put himself in that place again and it’s going to take him a while.
I can never get over the fact that Ruby used to talk about Otis with his dad at home. If this doesn't show how much she has changed for Otis. I hope the get back together at somepoint in s4.
The transformation of ruby in this season was eye tearing and wholesome. Seeing her fall for a guy like Otis who isn’t on same social status in school really showed that love is dumb luck. Honestly the relationship would’ve gone on if ruby gave Otis time to feel and say I love u. The entire arc of ruby and Otis was sweet and relatable. The bowling scenes were game changer for me as a viewer seeing that ruby genuinely enjoys Otis company and not just for sex. Intro to her dad was wholesome too and u could tell she was blushing the whole time her dad was praising Otis. You could tell she was not ready to move on when she saw Otis from the bus kissing maive. Honestly hope that this isn’t over between the two and that they rekindle something next season. Ps. Yes, but I think the breakup was the right move, make Otis and Maeve be a thing again for while is S4 then tear them apart due to complications in their relationship then we can see Otis and Ruby again.. If they make Otis and Ruby last in S3 then they will actually breakup sooner in S4(typical tv show bs).

Let's go over the Otis love interest characters, shall we? Ola: Oh, well she likes pancakes than hotdogs - so no dice there. Besides Otis + Ola chemistry is so bad. Perhaps due to their same vowel names and double-digit syllables in their names. Conclusion: dead in the water. Meave: So complicated with a dark back story. She developed into liking Otis but she is totally guarded. She has problems with expressing or opening up to Otis but has no problem sleeping around with guys in meaningless relationships. That rent payment to her landlord, no strings attached with Jackson, having a teen abortion and still sticking out and forgiving Isaac despite what he did to her and Otis yet was very hard on Otis, the man she truly loves. The Meave + Otis chemistry does not really gel well. Ruby: Sophisticated, top girl in her school. Shows a hard outer shell of toughness and does not really let anybody into her private life till Otis comes along. When she finally lets Otis into that inner hard shell, we all discovered she is a sweet girl, very caring towards her parents, and gives her all to Otis whom she truly loves so much. Otis broke her heart and it broke her but she still longs for Otis. The Otis + Ruby chemistry is fantastic. CONCLUSION: Let us all rally for an Otis+Ruby end game. It is the only way to go.

The first interaction between otis and ruby is going to get a morning after pill, where she mentioned she is not ready to carry his pale and unusually long children and otis was ready to accept both her and their unborn baby. 2. Ruby has a conversation with Jean about pregnancy. 3. She talks about surrogacy in the kardashian show and how she is bold 4. She was freaked out after SRE class about a watermelon side baby coming out of a girl 5. She didn’t bother to meet the reproductive doctor after her friends consulted. Episode 3 played them up so well with bowling and her dad. I think they should have not had Ruby say I love you then. They should have did France trip first Otis and Maeve still have their gas station moment. Ruby sees them then confesses she loves Otis . Like I love you Otis and I want to be with you but do you want Maeve? Because them splitting up would make more sense. Because episode 3 again had such good chemistry your like wtf why wouldn't Otis love her back.
Ruby is a force of nature…she loves Otis with her whole heart…the writers can NOT put her away again. The show would feel empty and frankly boring…her character just redefined the whole series…
