I use the sunray target probe. It's transfers the software from the machine to the probe with the flip of a switch. It's like swinging a miniature detector in your hole to locate the target. In my opinion It's much more efficient that a regular pinpointer.
Wow....I just brought a used e-trac and really enjoyed your video for getting to learn the basics. I will now be searching your other videos for great e-trac info. You have a nice, easy way of explaining things. Thanks for sharing 😊
Great tutorial ! Loved the personal touch to it. You helped me understand what some of the others are talking about in their videos while they are hunting.
This was fantastic. You are the best and an ambassador to Minelab. Watching this has gotten us extremely exited. We can not wait to get our hand on these. Look out silver here we come and hopefully this time we wont be walking over ya. Your new best friends. hehehe -=The Twins=- Bill and Bob
Just ordered mine but I'll be out of state when it arrives. Can't wait to watch you guys with the e-tracs. Had to retire the AT PRO awesome machine but I cant be having 6inch silver sounding like trash constantly.
Great video, man! I just received my E-Trac today. Can't wait to get out there. First, I'll hit my backyard, as you suggested, and see what my AT Pro missed. Thanks Jon!
When I first got mine I wish I had a video like thise to watch. LOL. Yeah, the e-trac noises are great! I think some other detectors like the fishers and teknetics sound like someone farting.
Hey Bud, thanks for the video....Some of the guys we hunt with are thinking about getting the Etrac, I currently run the Safari and man do I love those Flutes!!!......Excellent instructional video.....Keep up the great work, Best of Luck and HH
I could try to show it sometime. But it is confusing, sometimes I wonder why I never forced myself to learn the textbook method. LOL. I seemed to do really well for a while. But now I've been losing my touch and my targets are often further to the right and up higher. I need to figure out where I started going wrong. I think the main problem is impatience. Instead of taking time on the pinpoint I only check it one way, which is a no-no.
I am thinking of buying a e trac, someone told me that there is a way of telling the difference between a canadian iron quarter & iron junk,, would you know how that is done when you are discriminating out the junk items?
I live in Tennessee, so I don't dig many Canadian quarters down this way. The e-trac is a very high tech machine with the 2 sets of numbers, so I'm sure there's a way to tell using a specific pattern and going by the items size. What would happen is you would have to listen to all the junk targets to find those, but you may be able to listen for what is the specific type of iron signal you're looking for. I don't think it would be impossible if you did a lot practicing and put the time in trying to figure it out.

From the main hunting screen just press the button with the coil on it to make the numbers bigger, then press again to put them back at the top.
No, they cost about $220. In the long run well worth it though. You can find the targets at least 3 times faster.
I don't currently own an Etrac but WHEN I do I'll have an advantage thanks to your vids JD!

Good stuff. :) Waiting for my detector to be delivered, so videos like this help before I go out and into the field.
You convinced me. I'll be purchasing one. Great video!!!
Great video. I wish you had this made when I first got mine. I always tell people the etrac sounds like R2D2 at first but hang in there.
Just ordered my E-trac!!!! My dad got his a couple weeks ago!
Very informational! I'll have to reference this once I save up enough clad to get one! LoL
What kinda of pin-pointer do you use with your E-Track?

please correct if I'm wrong, but it is still scanning multi-channels even after you "noise cancel" (ground balance) your e trac, right?
I mean multi-frequency...
Correct.
I always liked those.
I want it lol!!!
Great vid. Thanks for the info.
Very helpful thanks
JD, I live in Tennessee also. Do you know of any metal detecting clubs in the area?
Good Job!
