Actually I notice men soften as they get older and are more likely to cry in front of people. So it's not that hard to make a GROWN man cry. A boy or a young man yes but not an old man or even a fully grown man.
And possibly the loneliness and poverty his in while he should be having a hard earned pension. US land of dreams....for a happy few. I hope Europe is not going the same route.

Truly shows how you're someone who takes life for granted. I mean, a lot of people are stillborns (die when they are born), and others die at a young age, sometimes even as young as a few months or weeks or days old, or even at ripe ages like 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and higher because of cancer, and others die before they even become a teenager or die before they hit 18 or 20 due to other reasons, like mental illness or terminal illness. A birthday party is nice because it lets you know that you lived another year, and did not succumb to any illness, physical, mental, emotional, NOR social, whether you had any illnesses or not. I think birthday parties are fun AND needed.

I'd say it's in the middle that people don't care bc people were wayyyy more pumped about my gmas 90th than my 37th, that's for sure! Lol it's strange how we come into this world the same way we leave. When my gma was dying I looked across the room and my mom was spoon feeding her oatmeal before changing her and then I look the other way and my daughter is spoon feeding her daughter oatmeal before changing her. We aren't meant to go out like that unfortunately. The problem is we don't eat proper diets anymore and if we did we wouldn't be going out like our grandparents did you would probably pass away in your sleep due to old age. God is always trying to teach us lessons from our suffering and the lesson is we need to be careful with our diet And our lifestyles and we would all go out with much more honor. Cleaning up their yard, house, doing chores they couldn’t do. Many of these people are the nicest you would ever meet, never were mean spirited at any point in their lives at all. They either had family move across the country or lost children to WWII, cancer, etc. Either way, no family anywhere close to help them. The only community they had were the friends who cared about them, people who would put other peoples needs above their own. That’s getting harder to find in our society unfortunately.

Every day he thinks "no one cares about me" and he gets up and goes to work and does his job. He tries to have some happiness. He sees other people happy. He tries not to be jealous. Maybe he thinks about the mistakes or the accidents that took him off his path. Maybe he took a wrong turn, maybe had some bad luck. But he soldiers on. Day after day. Learns to expect nothing. Lowers his expectations. Focuses on being a good person. His birthday comes. He says, it's just another day. It doesn't need to be celebrated. And then they come out with a cake...because they do care. He is not as alone and invisible as he thought...

Coz everyone was busy in earning a decent lifestyle. Simple illustration is enough I guess.

Imagine this guy as a young man, hopes dreams, maybe a family...now he works all the time and probably lives alone. Every day he thinks "no one cares about me" and he gets up and goes to work and does his job. He tries to have some happiness. He sees other people happy. He tries not to be jealous. Maybe he thinks about the mistakes or the accidents that took him off his path. Maybe he took a wrong turn, maybe had some bad luck. But he soldiers on. Day after day. Learns to expect nothing. Lowers his expectations. Focuses on being a good person. His birthday comes. He says, it's just another day. It doesn't need to be celebrated.
And then they come out with a cake...because they do care. He is not as alone and invisible as he thought...
You can see a lot of pain in his eyes. He was probably given 2 minutes to rest, and then back to his long shift.
There are too many people who are alone like this man.
