Wait actually, did he actually win over you, because new Wolfgang has additional 1.3x damage multiplier towards shadow creatures. Kind of an unfair advantage with 2.6x damage towards nearly everything in the speedrun.
@@AeyakS walik's shadow pieces rng was noticeably better here than in my run but yes the biggest factor was the wolfgang buff (+ the don't starve alone mod is now allowed in the leaderboards) although that's not an excuse to discredit an amazing run either way
