every time i listen to the opening and it get to the line "arise now, ye tarnished" you know that man went all out for just that line right there
My favorite part is when he goes "The loathsome DUNG eater" then proceeded to DUNG eat all over the place

Marz, what chat tried to tell you about equipping 2 weapons, is that you need 2 of the same type of weapon in order to do a double swing, the reason it didn't work for you, is because you had a thrusting weapon and a slashing weapon, you need 2 of the same type
it works for almost everything except staffs, and fist weapons

The Lord of Blood was the one who got me here to just enjoy. I kept losing to him so many times WHILE also suffering the “one more hit and he’s done” part.
This is like the ultimate "but wait.. there is more!" game I have played...
When I first started I was like.. hmmm the open world is kind of small...
Now I am like.. Damn this map is huge!

People have measured it; surface wise this map is roughly equal to RDR2 if we include all underground areas and such. So yeah, it's huge. Top 3 biggest in gaming I think.
Edit: I checked it, and the map is actually a fair bit bigger than RDR2's. Crazy.

I love seeing people smile on the game intro. It’s the nostalgic of it. Just like the first I fired up Pokémon on my gameboy colour, the logo lit on display and theme song came on. God damn! 8 year old me was very happy that day.

I think the prisoner background is a reference to Griffith from Berserk. He even uses a rapier too!
It's "Man in the Iron Mask" which Griffith is also a reference to
never even thought of that of possibly being a referrence

its a reference to the man in the Iron mask, former member of the three musketeers they use rapier, Griffith doesn't use a rapier, its more similar to a long sword.
It definitely is a reference to Griffith, but there's an even bigger reference to him in game. Named Miquella.
An hour and 56 minutes just in the character creator?? That's... probably less that what I spent to be honest, the customization is pretty good.
Tried making "me", changed my mind by the end and started all over again to bring an OC to life. Worth it!
The jellyfish is actually a "she." If you read the item description, it says her name is Aurelia. She's one of my favorite summons, always useful :)
Have you finished her quest at the Mountaintops? Tearjerking bro.
She was a huge help, she can poison bosses.

You can help her reunite with her sister, shes also a jellyfish. When u get to the stargazer ruins youll hear a girls voice and see a random blue jellyfish. There u can summon your jellyfish and theyll reunite
Take your time with this one because its a glorious experience

Yess, Marz Prisoner Dex Build let’s go! Looking forward to the series, I’m currently heavily addicted to this game myself.
The devs have said they designed the game around summoning characters. That's why I don't understand why so many strangers are being stubborn. It doesn't make you a worse player, certain bosses are designed with a duo in mind.
The bosses in this game aren't anymore difficult, it's just that so many people are underleveled. Ideally before getting even the first main boss most people finish all of this area and Weeping Peninsula.
I mean I don't summon but it's very obvious that some are designed for it.
I refuse to though, I don't like that they made a non-solo experience somewhat mandatory it's bullshit, it may be harder now but it's still doable.

I’m trying sooo hard to get invested in this game it’s def gigantic. sadly with my depression at it’s all time worse it’s so hard to stay focused and not get overwhelmed without ruminating on so many other aspects of my life. Thank you for your play throughs and everything that you do and continue to do for the gaming community it really helps me enjoy games when I’m mentally unable to!

This video confirms for me the opinion that no video game ought to have a tutorial of any kind. As most players will ignore tutorials entirely no matter how well or directly explained any mechanic in the tutorial. Better to just let the player figure it out or never encounter such through play.

Yeah.. im over 50 hrs in near the end of the story, and unfortunately your gonna have to get used to going back to get stronger and come back later. The game is built like this on purpose. Trust me. The open world nature of this game is honestly a blessing. Dont be afraid to also call on friends in multiplayer for help. Youll get used to it.🙂👍

Man 50hours in and I only started the academy of raya lucaria yesterday, didn’t even reached the volcano manor part of the map
This will prob take me 200hours to fully beat this game aha, way too much to see and discover that’s NUTS

I’m never ashamed to call on Friends or summons for Bosses but I just don’t feel right beating a boss with a summon of any kind.
So typically i play without using summons 95% of the time. I’ve used summons before but typically I’ve already beaten the boss or I beat the boss on another playthrough. Like namesless king first time DS3 I died 73 times. Second playthrough I died 3 times and finally beat him with no help.

@@alexf268 same for me. This is my first FS game and first time using a controller so I spent my initial hours learning to use a god damn controller and the game mechanics. Just felled Renna the witch at the Academy.
Don't know if you read these but put stuff like your summons & steed whistle in your pouch instead of down amongst your healing flasks (so you can hit triangle & d-pad to use them)

@@vegasviking86 well in her defense she doesn't seem to be using a shield anyway so...
@@vegasviking86 Yes and no, no because playstyle. I hardly ever use a shield so Guard Counter just isn’t something I even remember using I just Two Hand lol. Which as above you can see she’s not using a shield either so essentially that mechanic will be forgotten about anyways lol.
I’ve just played Soulsborne too much and got acquitted to not using a shield anymore to hide behind.

Great video! A few tips/suggestions:
- You can stick four items in your quick select pouch, and use them with y+direction. This is great for stuff like the horse whistle that you want immediate access to
- Similarly, holding up or down will jump straight to the first spell/item in your list
- While you have that Baldachin's blessing in your inventory, it lowers your max HP a bit. But! if you use it and return to Fia a couple times there's more dialog
- Hit X when looking at every single item/weapon/spell in your inventory to get the full description, since that's where all the lore is tucked away
She is obviously using a PS controller, so translate your button inputs 😅

Astrologer with Jelly at this point, it took me 6 tries to beat Margit and I went in blind. Grafted took me two tries which I am really proud of lol. Loretta I didn't find bad but did take me about a dozen or so tries, all my mistakes.
I haven't really found any other big names yet (Story/achievement/etc)

You literally have to. Limgrave is fun, beautiful, and huge. And after that, you deal with a whole bunch of bullshit that makes you miss wolves leaping out of the sky at you.
What I would do is try to level up before going into a dungeon to Level up before facing the boss in the game I know sounds boring but if you get your stats up it will help you a lot against them

Elden Ring is pretty awesome. I have been making my character a faith and strength build. Going toward the Templar similar to what i have on Elder Scrolls Online.
For Margit, it took me well over 20+ tries. You have to time your rolls when he swings. His reach is pretty crazy. I used the spirit wolves to keep him occupied. I had to use a stronger weapon and some Ashes of War "Sacred Blade" with my sword. The crazy thing is even shield blocking doesn't work with Margit when he swings his staff and hammer. Timing and patience is really key to defeating him. Oh, I forgot... summon a helper.. Sorcerer Rogier. There should be a gold writing on the ground interact with it before you enter the mist.

Great game. There is a sorcerer you can summon to help you with Magrit. I defeated him with my Vagabond after too many failed attempts, using a hound summon which causes bleed damage. I just waited for the bastard to bleed out.
Yesterday I rolled an Astrologist and picked the summon imp keepsake. Kicks ass! With that and tons of magic I put him down on my second attempt.
Elden Ring is a more open game, and I think magic, bows and summons work better. Stealth too at night. Melee combat is for tight spaces.
The only problem with that game is that it keeps reminding me I'm still maidenless. I need a maiden for some Bodachin blessings.
Clicks through the tutorials without reading them… “wait, I wanna know how to do that!”

Hey Marz, I find it easier to put the Spectral Steed Whistle and Ashes of War summons in my pouch to have only my flasks on the d-pad, that way it’s less to cycle through when I’m a fight. Whatever is in your pouch is available quickly by holding down triangle/Y and pressing the appropriate direction on the d-pad. I use the 4 slots for the whistle, 2 summons and the last I save for blood/fire/lightning grease.
So glad your back streaming, how I’ve missed it.
