Completely agree with the comments about the theatre, outstanding venue, we found it was almost always cold though, which was surprising given everywhere else on the ship it was a very comfortable temperature. We would have preferred the shows in Eden to move to the Club, getting an unobstructed view for any of the shows in Eden was a challenge, even when arriving 30-45 mins before showtime. Eden was a great venue for music acts when seating choice wasn't as critical. We enjoyed the shows, particularly the tribute act, "Elton John" on our itinerary was fabulous.
100% agree on the comment of Eden, it was amazing if you got one of the prime seats for the bigger shows, but if you arrived less than an hour before show time you had no chance. Obstructed view is absolutely fine for the music side, but when you want to watch the show and performers, it is hard from a lot of the spots. Having said that, we found the seats at the back of the Club upstairs were not great view wise either, but downstairs, everywhere had a great view (unless you sat behind on of those columns). The guy who did the Elton tribute (and Billy Joel) was brilliant on ours too. We were never left looking for something to do onboard, no matter what time of day it was, there were numerous activities going on, albeit less during port days, but that is the same for all cruise lines. They have definitely moved the needle towards Virgin Stuart & Karen, but they are probably, as Linzi said in the review, still a bit closer to Cunard, albeit with much more spectacular use of technology.
Interesting review thanks. Him Indoors sounds way back and L. very nice and clear and near to the mic, so your balance is odd. Thought you’d want to know after the pain (!) sorry of the live where you had the mic trouble. Not sure I’ll get my hubby onto the Apex, Celebrity is our fave but I’m seeing prices for drinks, speciality restaurants etc going quite dear. But as always very informative, thank you.
Thank you for the heads up on the sound, we will tweak it a bit for this weeks video and see how that is. Theoretically the system is supposed to automatically adjust the levels, but it probably needs a hand if one of us sounds quieter than the other, especially as we both sit at a similar position. Prices are a little higher on Celebrity (to be fair on all Royal Caribbean companies) than some others, but the quality of the speciality restaurants is generally much higher than on similar cruise lines too. It is definitely worth trying Celebrity, especially Apex, if you can find a bargain. Have a lovely day, Linzi & Mark
Thanks Linzi. Yes Celebrity is my fave but have already got hubby on a Saga (eeek) to Norway and a QM2 Ston to NY this year. So maybe 2025? Sitting in Gran Canaria airport after 10 days in the sun, glad we’ve missed the cold and the wind!! Keep doing what you and Mark do so well.
