      +wikichris Yes, the chord progression starting with 1:27-1:33 is: D, G, F#, Bm, D, G, A. D and then the percussive chops. www.EliteGuitarist.com

      +Kasia Ewa Using Google type in the name of the song in this case: (Sunburst cords and tabs) or Sunburst by Andrew York. You should get a number of websites that have tabs for this song.

    Tavi plays so beautifully AND without the stupid faces York pulls

    • @sobellfanatic
      @sobellfanatic 3 года назад +7

      Try composing it. I'll take "stupid faces" in exchange for that skill anyday (Tavi plays it great BTW).

    Sometimes he sounds like he's plucking with a guitar pick. His tone has always been very inconsistent. This is not bad criticism. I think he would improve so much if he "evened up" his tone overall. You can still achieve different sounds by playing on different spots of the guitar. You don't need to go for that "naily" tone by twisting your hand like he does. It's even distracting in the middle of a piece. You should always strive for a fuller, rounder, warm tone, not a thin pluck like flamenco players.

    • @tonchette7993
      @tonchette7993 3 года назад +1

      I agree with you, the tone is pretty sharp and sounds like it can pierce your ears. I think his nails are pointy which is not the way you should form your nails.

    Its okay few lazy mistakes in areas and he took definite liberties near the end good overall though nice and clear for the most part... not bad...

      I play this piece, and I can honestly state that you're talking nonsense. There are no mistakes, lazy or otherwise, and no liberties taken near the end. This was an exemplary performance. Your comment betrays your lack of knowledge regarding this piece.

      He's demo-ing a guitar, not playing a performance before the queen.

    • @johnsonguitarstudio
      @johnsonguitarstudio 6 лет назад +4

      Oddhominem, I play this piece too, and he's absolutely right. There are some VERY lazy mistakes starting at 0:19, for example. The measure should only have the first string D on the 2nd and 4th 8th notes. Tavi lazily slaps that first string D something like 6 times in the measure. For contrast, it is only written twice.
      Your comment betrays your lack of ear training and your notational illiteracy.

      I'm not naming and shaming on YT, but there are some performances of this recorded on CDs that are excruciating and almost unlistenable; players attempting something way above their pay-grade. Tavi plays this pretty good compared to most. Of course, York nails it for obvious reasons.
