Just discovered Tamir Hendelman. He's phenomenal. The man swings hard. That was very convincing jazz version of Ravel's prelude from Le Tombeau. Bravo!
Tamir has played at the Nashville Jazz Workshop numerous times as part of the Jeff Hamilton Trio, and independently with a local drummer and bassist who is one of the founders of the Workshop. I’ve been lucky to have seen all these appearances. Tamir is all great pianists rolled into one. And he’s a really nice person to boot. Hoping to see him again, soon. He swings so hard!
Saw him last night, here in Indianapolis IN, ( Jan 13th 2024) at The Jazz Kitchen with another Jazz vocalist , She was the headliner, yet, without his style, it was a smooth night of vocals + twinkling keys.
We were there, too, sat basically behind him. His dynamics alone were phenomenal! Which show did you catch? (We did the late set,) I try to catch Tamir since I met him and took an online lesson. Every song is a textbook in itself.
Barry L - we were right behind you -/- I look like a Rabbi ! My Ukrainian wife was w/ me Had a clear view of his fingers flying !!! I spoke Hebrew to him I spoke Russian to the singer They both responded in kind
Tamir is a modest genius. An amazing artist, true gentleman, great teacher and a good friend. It's a privilege to listen.
I've been enjoying Tamir's playing for quite a while along with Jeff Hamilton on drums. He sounds just great here as well and swings like crazy.
Bravo Tamir! Your playing is inventive, savvy, respectful, tasty, intelligent, fun, surprising, beautiful, and happy. Thanks so much.
Was für ein tolles Trio! Was für ein Supersound! Let the good times swing!
