Great Video! I just changed mine yesterday. These EGR valves can cause the code P0108 (Manifold Absolute Pressure Circut high) and p0406 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit High). I had this check engine light for the longest and read a bunch of forums. In the end, I changed the EGR valve and cleared the code with an OBD 2 reader and the check engine light never came back. I hope this helps anyone out there with the same issue. I didn't have any symptoms of a bad EGR valve because normally that would mean a bad idle below 30 MPH and bad gas mileage too. but even though the car works perfectly fine these EGR valves have been a problem for the 05-09 mustangs.

Just replaced my EGR valve and a few days later and it gave a CEL with a P0401 code. I’m hoping I didn’t get a defective EGR Valve, I erased the code with a obd2 reader and hoping it doesn’t come up again. Though the cel does flash a few times when car is on position with ignition turned off, so hopefully that means nothing. If does come back, I’ll have to put back the old one and see how it goes or maybe get another new one since the part I bought came with a 1 year warranty.
Reason for EGR valve replacement was the old EGR valve was giving an annoying high pitched screeching sound. New EGR valve fixed that.

EXCELLENT! I had the two bolts loosened, and wasn't sure about the 27mm tube bolt, as I actually had a master mechanic, retired, who told me to loosen the 27mm in the opposite direction, which did not make sense to me....(His direction actually would tighten it) Very often I can not find a good video for my needs for the 2007 mustang. Clearly, I can make out the correct direction, and I also had no idea about leaving the old nuts in place. Thanks for such a clear cut video! take care, Elizabeth

So I bought an obd2 reader. I got 2 codes. P0108 and P0406. I bought it because my 2009 mustang on the previous day when I accelerated at the light I had no acceleration. No acceleration in drive or in reverse. I had to drive it home on 3rd gear. I had to put in coolant into the car before driving it home. Today the car seemed fine as I drove it around the block. Do you think if I replace this valve myself it should solve my problem. Or bigger issue?

Two quick questions - I was told by Autozone that I needed to replace the "pigtail" as well, I don't see that you did that. Is that necessary? I also didn't see the gasket set up, you had two gaskets lying there, I'm assuming one was the old one and it doesn't need two gaskets? Sorry for dumb/obvious questions - learning this as I go.
