- How to make Prik Nam Pla พริกน้ำปลาสูตรเด็ด is the taste of Thailand - sweet, salty, sour with a little heat. This classic chili dip is easy to make at home and in Thai restaurants it is usually served in small bowls used to flavor rice dishes or stir fries.

Word of the day Prik Nam Pla, love this! It kind of reminds me of pico de gallo..fresh finely chopped tomato, garlic, peppers lime juice and cilantro. No sugar or fish sauce tho! My brother was in Danang in 70-71 Then he did his R&R in Thailand. The best part of his time in SE Asia! When watching you prepare Thai food, I imagine him eating those dishes. I KNOW he would've loved Prik Nam Pla!
Thank you. Best, Rik
Love the recipe. I’ve also used some Thai vinegar to get the acidity right. Made this tonight and used in some chicken and pork. Sooooo gooood
Cheers Rich - All the Thai are genuine I have lived here in Thailand for 17 years and have had some fantastic teachers - the correct way unlike some of the wannabe tuber recipes out there. Don't forget all are subjective to taste so adjust to your taste. best, Rik
