    Hi Zinunula, thank you so much for making these videos, they are so informative I feel like you've taught me so much already! I have an interview for a buying role and I'm worried about my lack of knowledge in Excel, I wondered (if you haven't already) whether you would be interested in making an Excel tutorial just covering the basic formulas we need to know to make a range plan like yours! Thanks again, your channel is amazing and incredibly helpful so I really hope it takes off for you!! 🤩

    Hi Zinunula,
    Firstly, I would like to thank you for bringing such informative content to us. I have been looking for content on buying and merchandising, and this certainly is the best among all that I found.
    Would you like to explain the difference between the Intake Margin and Gross Margin? What's the difference in their calculation?
    Still waiting for videos on Line Sheet and OTB. Looking forward to see them soon!

    Really interresting video! I'm looking forward for more! I am into the Buyer industry but on the medical side but Fashion is something that might be where I'd like to go eventually. Would like to hear about how you "predict" the trends?

      Hi C France, thank you so much for your comments. Much appreciated on your interest in my video and I’m glad to hear you are in the buying industry, for fashion the principles do not vary much at all when it comes to building a range as I’m sure you may know. But in fashion, for “predicting trends” we rely heavily on the previous season sales and project it forward. In season we do ‘comp shopping’ to check out the competition on the high street and just see what is out there or even identify any emerging trends for ourselves on people we see out. And for newness we also use trend forecasting platforms such as WGSN & others which collate all of runway and all the in season aesthetics to project what people would want to buy, here the design team are very instrumental and we work closely with them in development.
      I will be sure to make more detailed content on ‘predicting trends’ and any other topics that my subscribers suggest to me, so keep the comments coming!🙌🏾
      I touch on this a bit in my other videos below you should listen to aswell;

      Thank you very much Zinunula for taking the time to respond. Really appreciated it! Reading your answer makes me realize that the work is different depending of the industry but also quite the same. I also work with datas from the previous year to predict the upcoming volume.
      Another question or future topic for you! I'd like to know if you have to nogociate the prices or terms to buy the merchandise and if you need to have negociate skills for your profession.
      Thank you!

      @@francec2106 Hi C France, no problem my pleasure to answer your questions! Yes, I would say it really is the same but different critical paths depending on what you’re manufacturing.. and as for negotiation yes, this is a bit requirement .. in all things not just with your supplier but negotiating your sale price to consumers while still remaining competitive alongside other retailers.. it’s all a negotiation :)
