This run took 1,729 resets before I had to stop. Unfortunately, I have to settle for a theoretical 9-star clear, as mentioned in the community post. I've never pushed myself this far for a video before, so I hope it doesn't cause burnout. Previously, the highest number of resets I needed was 548 for 4.2 Spiral Abyss, so 1,729 is an enormous increase.

Important Note
As mentioned in the community post, I unfortunately had to stop after 1,727 resets to avoid burnout and focus on my M.S. thesis. Instead of showing a continuous 12-1 run, I'll present a theoretical 3-star clear by combining footage from 12-1-1 and 12-1-2, which together have a combined time of around 2 minutes and 56-57 seconds.
I had to stop before it took a toll on my mental health, so I hope you all understand. Thanks for your continued support!

Man I hate this abyss so much, it took me many hours and many different team tries even with 5 stars. You are so good at the game, I can't even imagine doing it using 4 stars, let along starter character!!!

You are amazing, I myself needed 206 resets for 12-1 with my 5 stars. There is is so much RNG involved: if drakes get resistance before you kill them you might as well reset, if samachurl stuns you with his vines you might as well reset, if lector doesn't stagger and gets pushed to another fast enough you might as well reset, if they get separated during shield phase you, if serpent knight do random stuff etc... THIS IS INSANE CHAMBER. Congrats on clearing, even a theoretical clear is impressive

@@sedef4515 I nearly lost mine too, my unbuilt lv 20 Mona I never used saved me here with her water dash, otherwise I would never 36 star this abyss with Furina as my only built Hydro

My dumb ass with neuvillete and a crippling skill issues tried 3 times before deciding I dont want those 50 primos, I cant even begin to comprehend 1700+ resets. The video was a goddamn pleasure to watch and you've earned my respect.
what neuvillette team did you use? i tried again using arlecchino vape first half and neuvi taser (just neuvi, furina, kazuha, fischl) and managed to clear 9*
Its no longer 50 primos, last 3 stars reward is 100 now. 200 in total in each floor but resets only per months

This is amazing; I was struggling to get 36* in the abyss. This is honestly amazing work (also, 1700+ resets is amazing, considering the dedication and patience you need to have for that🙏🤧).

Absolutely amazing!! Love your explanations for what you did! This really shows the importance of both positioning and some of the mechanics that don't get a lot of attention, such as the knockback provided by abilities like Kaeya's Burst. Not gonna lie, needing to consider stuff like that actually appeals to me personally because it's like a puzzle hehe it scratches my brain in all the right ways

When I saw you use Anemo Traveler on the last chamber, I was convinced this took many tries. As I checked the comments, goodness gracious 1727 resets??? 20 resets already make my blood boil and stop. I can't imagine 100, not even a thousand

You have patience of a saint. I've realised that I'm not that fluid with Clorinde to clear, so I just pulled my good old Raiden. And of course I have Neuvillette. I cleared without issues, but I know damn well if I tried something like this, I would throw my computer out of the window lmao. Huge kudos to you
Learning how to group the enemies without a dedicated grouper (even then some might be too heavy) is definitely one of the biggest skill expression imo. One thing I always look for now is if the enemies have any mobility skill or not and plan the grouping accordingly.
I used many full 5 star limited chatacter teams but still lost half of my humanity over this Abyss 4.7. You are so awesome ❤❤🎉🎉

I used to use booking, but a few people in Furu’s Discord server told me it’s annoying to watch, so I slowly learned to not rely on it

Freeze and the aoe of the blooms really work perfectly together. But even then, it requires immense luck.
I myself went through 633 attempts to finally be finished with this abyss. I first achieved 36 stars earlier, but unfortunately my ego got in the way and made me do it again to try and convince myself that luck didn't play a major factor.
I may not be as dedicated as you, but I wanted to let you know you are not alone. I hope you are doing well after all this.

Me with nahida Neuvillette Arlecchino cloud retainer and some c6 4 star characters all fully maxed to level 90 still having problems to clear abyss level 11 😂
This is nuts... I am unable to full-star clear even with well-built 5 star teams. Now I see that I just need to try harder 😂 thanks for the team ideas, I think I will try Neuvilette fridge team on the second half!
You may also need a new computer , an optimized keyboard, Zero Ping, play when no one is on and to try harder😂

A second reason is that I’m in graduate school, so trying to balance RUclips and school work is already extraordinarily challenging, especially given that I still have to work on that M.S. thesis through summer break.

Thanks, 👍! You don’t lose the stars you’ve earned when you reset the entire Spiral Abyss run. I ended the run at 12-2, exited the Spiral Abyss to change Traveler from Dendro to Anemo, and entered the Spiral Abyss again to start an entirely new run.

I’d say it was somewhere around 20 hours of attempts split among 5 days with lots of breaks in between

I was getting a little bored with c6 4 stars runs... but the explanations really helped. I didnt know collei should build for damage instead of EM.
I didn’t really build Collei for damage specifically. Rather, I focused on building more ER% to make sure I had her burst up as often as possible.

My bad, I worded that weirdly. I meant that as in ER% is a priority but I’ll still try to build offensive stats on her if possible.

1700+ resets is insane, would you say the main reason behind it is enemy positioning/attacking RNG? Or is it easy to make gameplay mistakes with this group of units?
This is the first abyss I haven't been able to clear in a while, not even close to the 7 minute mark lol. Also bunny dancing on top of the weakened boss at 5:50 is so funny
It was both of the reasons you mentioned and the fact that I only had Barbara and Hydro Traveler against the Pyro Lector. If Natlan gives a new starter character, I hope it’s a good Hydro applicator since Hydro application against Pyro shields has been a problem in every version that had Pyro shields.

They took over 1,700 resets. And this is not a continuous run but rather 3 different footages stitched together. So yes, it’s almost impossible to complete 36* with 4 stars.

How do you do the fast hold skill? Where the circle pops up around Lisa without having to hold it for a really long time?
I assume you’re referring to the circle that briefly appears as soon as you on-field as Lisa. That’s from her C6, which applies 3 stacks of Conductive status on nearby enemies when she takes the field. However, because Lisa uses an EM build for the Overload reaction, this mechanic doesn’t contribute any meaningful damage.
