The problems are wide spread, monarchy, military, federal politicians and provincial politicians. The monarchy is the easiest to change to a democratic one. Getting the political situation corrected is the most difficult as like all politicians they only want power and will not give it up. What the Thai people must be careful of is the strong, some say extreme socialist policy. Good luck to them as they will have to make sure that it is really a democratic country they want.
Would you let one of this young generation be in charge of banking, electricity or building a sky scrapper? It takes years of knowledge to know how to build a one-mile bridge over water & that's nothing compared to operating a government. Give them all your money to invest if you truly trust them.
A SLAVE OF SATAN, IS ALWAYS A SLAVE OF SATAN igniting lawlessness and hatred. SLAVE, your days are numbered. watch your own backyard that you are not the next victim.
Thailand royalty has numerous huge palaces or royal retreats in Thailand including Grand Palace in Bangkok, the beach resort in Hua Hin and mountain resort in Cheng Mai? Why need a palace or resort in Germany or elsewhere?

Are you hoping they do a "January 6" type event? Or how about like a 'Russian October Revolution' which would result in the murder of King? I would fight for the King of Thailand to stop Thai's seeking his overthrow. If Americans are justified to fight & send arms to Ukraine, then this American would serve the Thai King & be justified.
Young people need to learn from those which are much older & have seen/been through hardships. These youngsters can't put down their phone for more than 30 minutes. *First, they should be like my Thai in-laws, have 8 children & live in a small farm shack for the first 15 years of marriage. Then one has skin in the game.
There would be no protest against the monarchy if the king doesn’t take advantage from the citizens and acts inappropriately as a “king”. He is irresponsible and has done nothing for the people compared to his father.
If there is no changes, there is no hope for the new generation. The rich will get richer, while the poor will get poorer, only as the slave to the rich and power. In Malaysia, there are like nine royal families in each of our states so there are like nine mini kings. Every few years, one of the nine mini kings will be the main king of the Malaysia known as the ‘Agong’. Imagine the amount of money they’ve spent on their luxurious lives. People in the royal families usually don’t work at all so all of them just leech off the country’s money. Those mini kings NEVER do anything. I really hate how some of the monarchy systems work. This is the 21st century. Why do we still have the monarchy system? Just get rid of it.
Hong Kong: five fingers, Thailand: only three?? Go ahead and maximize one's" freedom", while minimize each of yours responsibility to contribute to your country. Feudalism got to be changed, but do not destroy your country. Learn from the Chinese, they're going full speed without these kind of distraction
And the Chinese will eventually fall too...because of deep rooted control by the CCP and the president Winnie the pooh. Nothing lasts forever, especially state sponsored control over people in the long run. Check out what happened to the USSR. Check out east and west Germany.... It's just a matter of time.
"In place of the old bourgeois society, with its classes and class antagonisms, we shall have an association, in which the free development of each is the condition for the free development of all" - Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto
Let's see how Communism (as an economic system) worked out in China, and Venezuela. (Hint: poorly. Hence, why China became capitalist-ish). Capitalism has its flaws, but I say we need to counterbalance Capitalism and Socialism. The former will generate wealth, while the latter will spread the wealth.

The king and his family in Thailand are the most important problems in the country. Why? 1. Take the tax payer money to refer to the project But set up more than 30 companies for their own family 2. Killing, imprisonment for those whose opinions do not match the king's side. 3. The government gives tax payer money to the royal family billions of baht a year. 4. For Tax payer money, the military government or the royal government It will take on projects with the rich who are on the same side. 5. Very little of Tax payer money was spent on education and livelihoods in the country, and much of the Tax payer money was spent on the extravagance of the dictatorial government and the royal family. This is only part of the badness of the monarchy in Thailand.
what Warong has said is just a tip of the iceberg. so it's easy for him to say so as well as it's so easy for him to manipulate the message that sounds convincing. What's unquestionable problematic message is that part under the sea of the iceberg. In other words, that part has been being developed strategically and well organized things nicely and sounds righteous. For example, during the past 6 years underneath the junta, everything is utilized and devised for the sake of the "system/ regime" itself and/ or its parts/networks i.e those institutions mentioned in the footage, militaries, elites, those privileges and so on; whether that in terms of the powers, wealth, opportunities, resources, or status quo, and so on.
The relevance of the monarchy is a unifying force or symbol for a people and its culture, and the country. You can call him whatever the king, sultan or emperor. He must therefore be relevant to the people and be identified with them. That's what the American did in supporting the Emperor of Japan as symbolic head of state instead of prosecuting him for war crimes like they did with many other leaders. The Japanese accepted that arrangement and respected their emperor and the royalty to this day. Thailand did that very well living under the previous king - King Rama 9. It could see how that reign could be continued or need to be adapted in presents times. Alternatively, Thailand could also look at other systems such as the Japanese royalty model or even those in the Europe or elsewhere (Obviously the Thai can easily adopt them. The bearskin hat worn by the king and ceremonial guards is more akin to Britain than uniquely Thai or even Asian!)
I feel so sad 😰😰😰😭😭that the government that comes from the people from the past to the present will always be destroyed like the people 's voice has no meaning. ( The powerful saw them as slaves.)😪😪😭😭
I can see why Filipino commenters are lamenting their democracy: Have you seen the US? On the other hand, I can see why the Thai people are protesting: I, too, wouldn't wanna live in a country with high authoritarian levels and/or self-serving draconian laws. That said, I prefer a constitutional monarchy, a system where democracy is there, but the monarchy can serve as a counterweight to said democracy, lest the mob and/or corrupt politicos consume the nation, but it would be better if the system is reworked whereas the monarch doesn't have that much power, and the rework is what the Thai people are asking for. To the Filipino commentors: Please try to put yourself in the Thai redshirt's shoes, and let them protest.
Jaturon failed to mention that the student activists of the '70's had been engaging with the Thai Communist Party long before the 6 October 1976 incidence and that's why they ran away and joined the Thai Communist Liberation Army in the jungles in various parts of Thailand to fight against Thai Government after the incidence during which time the North Vietnamese Troops had already advanced close to Thai- Cambodian border. Thailand was facing the danger of invasion by the North Vietnamese Army.

Thailand is in a critical time which whatever happened already change Thai society forever. Let us have time to tell. Very exciting year of 2021 to come.
they are saying that they want a constitutional monarchy which is more answerable to the public.... How can a constitutional monarchy finally be built?

When I was in Thailand, the royal family was passing by and we were asked by the police to stop walking until they completely out of our sight. And we are instructed not to take pictures of videos. I didn’t know that taking pic of royal fam was something forbidden to do.
I hope and pray the Thai King steps up and listens his young generation
He to busy with his lavishly life in Germany.
You had nice mind but I wondered possibility of that idea.
@steph no, gov is the puppet of monarchy to remain power...
Dictatorship Fear of putting the king under the constitution Because they benefit from the power of the king, such as having a prime minister, the king must sign first. As well as unable to examine the monarchy budget that uses the money from the people's tax And China has a good relationship with the monarchy.

@José Menendéz Since the US is involved in the Thai protests, I would recommend the Thai military to go to war against the USA!
It's absolutely Monarchy, he is the boss.
Frank
I think your assessment is accurate. Democracy is good but
I would also be afraid of a communist insurgency as happened in Malaysia until 1990.
With all due respect, Thailand is not a federal state. They're a unitary state.
just be libertarian, make system that even worst person cant controll u. stop dreaming about good ppl in gov.

Would you let one of this young generation be in charge of banking, electricity or building a sky scrapper? It takes years of knowledge to know how to build a one-mile bridge over water & that's nothing compared to operating a government. Give them all your money to invest if you truly trust them.

The New generation is asking for the comfort of their life, but the dictator wants to take charge of the people's life. "YOU ARE TO OBEY, TO WHAT WE WANT!!!!" 😭

Economy and Democracy are two different entity by can coexist quite harmoniously if only they are properly managed, and attainment of prosperity of the two is possible even without the expense of the other.
The king needs to bail, take the concubines and go.

Standing in a middle of day still. Respecting The King was really a goose bumps all over the body.
The king and his family in Thailand are the most important problems in the country.
Why?
1. Take the tax payer money to refer to the project But set up more than 30 companies for their own family
Love Thailand
Long live the king
The protesters violate other human rights. People suffer from them
We used to learn about French Revolution, the new one will be Thai Revolution
Good Luck
What about demanding greater democracy and change from your beloved PAP ??? Honestly, who love this PAP ??
Pls God help these protest .... please get their freedom back .....
