@superweeb6969 I'm fine with power creep eventually, because it'd be hard to choose out of like 1000 cards if they are all still relevant , but from everything I've seen, this set does seem to help the others pretty well
@ Power creep in the official PTCG typically comes between "blocks" or generations of Pokémon expansions - we should be a year or 2 out from that - but it could be different for pocket (:
Scizor and Steelix may be released with this set due of Dialga's energy acceleration. Palkia and Starmie could be a viable deck. Starmie's aggressive playstyle could stall for Palkia late game. Lucario could be the substitute for Aerodactyl decks that run Hitmonlee and Marshadow.
There is not enough space in Cynthia's text to fit the "active Pokemon". It seems more likely to say "ex Pokemon" which limits its use, but again might be pretty solid option
The word "during" would fit without a space if you moved it down. Considering "active" won't be capitalised then it should fit with a space. If it was just "ex" there would be too much extra space.
Palkia off hand can already be a nice buff lead for water decks in the same vain as an Exeguttor EX, 30 DMG for one energy and 150 HP 👀 Can see it as a better addition for Blastoise decks as opposed to the Articuno that is usually there.
I think it would be a mistake not to have at least one Dark EX in this new set. We’ll likely get Giratina and Arceus in the “mythical island” mini set so it would make sense to include Darkrai Ex in this set
17:47 crazy that you think gible will do 30-40 or even 50, it's gonna do 20 dmg tops (maybe even 10) like the rest of the pokemon with gnaw as its move. I'm leaning more towards 10 because garchomp looks like it's gonna be op
A lot of people tend to forget Pokémon’s TCG in nature is slow paced and RNG heavy. If you were to open Dialga and your opponent opens nothing, it’s not a drawback that it takes 2 energy. Then again this is just how most duels play out.
If Honchkrow only takes 1 energy to attack anything for 50 damage, we can say goodbye to this Druddegon meta. I myself would be happy about speeding up the game with less setup and sweep playstyles. There's also the question if they bring cards like ultra ball and rare candies to the game. I hope they do but we'll have to wait and see.
It's a shame they lowered the amount of cards to 140. With mythical island, the 80 card set was easily completable in less than 2 weeks so I fear that this may not be enough
Imagine thinking there is there is even a one percent chance they’d put a fifty damage one energy attack any Pokémon move in the game lol. If we’re lucky it’ll be two but three is more likely
I’m really looking forward to Lucario. My only thought with this card is that my fighting decks tend to use up my entire bench, Aero Ex, Marshadow, and either a Marowak Ex or Mew Ex etc are always in those spots. So I’m not sure what would be replaced just yet. It certainly helps Marshadow punch up and KO lots of Ex cards though!
Certainly a lot of options at the moment - I think removing a few Pokémon in place for Lucario should make some SPECIFIC archetypes better. Primeape doing 70-90 damage turn 2 is PRETTY WILD lol
That lucario is awesome, the serperior of fighting types, im all in trying a kabutops-lucario deck, that and dialga is practically maded for melmetals, but maybe we have more steel types, bronzong and bastiodon could be great
I can’t wait to make a Starmie/Vaporeon/Palkia deck, I have one with Articuno that’s really good with pivots, and I think Palkia will be an amazing replacement to Articuno in the list. So hyped!
Starmie vaporean palkia will be crazy… both starmie and vaporean are already very tanky for a stage 1.. if you start with palkia great… you could setup the bench… but if you have both starmie and vaporean on the field, a palkia on your hand will be a time bomb… it’s crazy. two stage 1 and two basic is very consistent too…
My initial take was dialga was better than palkia. Now I think it’s clearly the opposite. Lucario I thought would be broken, and everyone seems to agree there. Cynthia probably busted too.
Diagla I think will be a tech but can pair with melmetal.palkia is going to be a problem at some stage.as long as lucario is in the format fighting will always be good.gible might do 20 damage.pachirisu if there is good tool cards will be good.leafeon is cool.honchkrow will probably be 2dark1colourless
With 60HP Gibble probably only does 10-20. Especially if Cynthia is giving +50 to stage two evolution. If Gibble does 40-50 with one energy that would make it primeape status
Completely disagree. Having a 150hp basic to lead out who can do 30 for one energy is really good imo even if the second attack is used more rarely it could close games out and even instant win with Misty in some situations.
@@doublejazz first of all misty is inconsistent so its mid and palkia isnt better than starmie or gary its a 1 attack card to loose 2 points isnt good at all at best its just gonna be a gamble deck like celebi misty just is to inconsistent
Diagla is way better than Moltres. It's more consistent, and does 30 DMG. There's no Pokémon that can deal with 150hp turn 1, so you'll get to at least generate energy twice before switching out. And you can switch out using it's own energy or a leaf. Can't wait for my Machamp to hit for 160 lol
Mewtwo turn 3 goes DELETE. Dialga going first literally is a brick for the first 2 turns 🤷🏻♂️ moltres decks have won the largest tournaments in Pocket - Dialga has large shoes to fill 😅
Dialga is better than Moltres. Dialga can attack turn 3 with 100 moltres turn 3 for 70. He has 10 more hp and his attack is guaranteed 2 energy. Have you ever flipped with Moltres 2 or 3 turns and got all tails. I have. It was on my fith round in the SP event I lost..
palkia is more of a starter/finisher, being able to do 30 damage off rip is pretty threatening, and 150 dmg + 20 to benched helps to finish weak mons to win the game really will only see a lot of use with vaporeon to get a jumpscare finisher, and vaporeon is already decent rn dialga being able to put 2 energy on anything will make him a huge threat, double dialga will generate so much energy and can be used with mew ex or tauros to threaten their ex mons
It all depends on what we can partner with Dialga. Going first - the card is objectively not great. It’s a bit too slow, so it will NEED a Strong target to accelerate energies to. I think it’ll likely have great support along with it so yea - but in a vacuum it’s pretty lackluster (:
Share YOUR thoughts on these new cards!!! Like and Sub (:
I just hope this doesn't make the last set irrelevant because I just got the hang of my Fighting box deck and Lucario would fit perfect in it
I'm hoping it "adds-on" instead of replacing the cards we already use (:
There’s eventually going to be power creep but from what I see they’re trying to make every typing relevant
@superweeb6969 I'm fine with power creep eventually, because it'd be hard to choose out of like 1000 cards if they are all still relevant , but from everything I've seen, this set does seem to help the others pretty well

Probably not, my blastoise EX deck has been trashing since release with no signs of being outclassed by anything
Scizor and Steelix may be released with this set due of Dialga's energy acceleration.
Palkia and Starmie could be a viable deck. Starmie's aggressive playstyle could stall for Palkia late game.

Love it!!! Agree for sure (:
Greninja, Starmie, and Vaporeon will all be interesting to try alongside Palkia. And that's not even considering the unknown Floatzel and Empoleon!
There is not enough space in Cynthia's text to fit the "active Pokemon". It seems more likely to say "ex Pokemon" which limits its use, but again might be pretty solid option
Interesting observation (:

For gen 4 dark type EX, we have Darkrai EX. It might come in this set, or be in the next mini set.
Hope it comes in this set. It could be with giritina in next miniset tho!

Darkrai Ex (dark) and Giratina Ex (dragon) would make it so every type has an ex card
A lot of people tend to forget Pokémon’s TCG in nature is slow paced and RNG heavy. If you were to open Dialga and your opponent opens nothing, it’s not a drawback that it takes 2 energy. Then again this is just how most duels play out.
Pocket is a lot faster than the OCG - often times your opponent is fully set up on turn 3 (/
If Honchkrow only takes 1 energy to attack anything for 50 damage, we can say goodbye to this Druddegon meta. I myself would be happy about speeding up the game with less setup and sweep playstyles. The best counter to palkia is still mew ex, he can match dimension slash and don't loose any water enery after if no water enery is attached...
for sure! Mew EX gets a massive buff overall when this set releases (:
It's a shame they lowered the amount of cards to 140. With mythical island, the 80 card set was easily completable in less than 2 weeks so I fear that this may not be enough
We have 6 weeks after this until the next mini-set, I think a lot of players are still completing the previous sets, so i think this is best overall.
Imagine thinking there is there is even a one percent chance they’d put a fifty damage one energy attack any Pokémon move in the game lol.
