Here's a question for a possible video. How are guardians chosen to be hunters, titans, or warlocks? What decides which class we are and also why are these the only 3?
Steven Bartlett I believe he made a video that's fairly recent on how we become one of the three. The subclasses as well, but I think it's possible for all to use all three elements, but some can only master one or 2 and rarely three. Zavala is referenced to be both a striker and defender
Anyone up for a strike that let's us recapture the Sunbreaker outpost and re-establish the order? Sounds like a no-brainer to me... You listening, Bungie?
Man, that was nuts though! Having that many hammers to throw and at the damage they did. True, the PVP damage resistance was BS, I will admit. But then that Hammer spam glitch was found... That was fun and hilarious in certain moments (I reference you to Enraged Cinema's hammer spam Crota run) In all truthfulness: it did need to be fixed and nerfed, but it was extremely fun while it lasted. Damn.. I'm sad now. I miss How fun and broken D1 was.
Quick little theory, but more of an observation than anything, and it doesn't have anything to do with this topic about the sun breakers, and has more to do with the darkness and light in general. Something I've noticed is that during your extra lore videos of the book of sorrows, it was stated that oryx once talked to one of the worm gods and said something along the lines of "I know why the worms inside us are always growing more hungry, and that is because they were given to us and not taken", to which he proceeds to kill the worm god and take the secrets that it held. The second thing I noticed was when you were fighting the final battle against Ghaul, whenever he was taking the light, it was dark and seemed corrupted, he also seemed to be in pain while talking it. The final thing I noticed was when you were at the corrupted shard, although it was referred as corrupted, it gave you pure light. The theme that I'm seeing here is that, when you take from the darkness, you remain unpunished, but when given to you, you receive a penalty of sorts. Also if you take from the light, you are also given a penalty, but when given the light, you're fine. All this to ask, do you think that the darkness and light are the same thing, but just two sides to the same coin? Perhaps there is an evil travel and the final force that we saw at the last cutscenes of the game are "Guardians" or "Risen" for this evil traveler.
The Travellers arch enemy has always been, The Darkness. Which is exactly the thing you saw move right at the end of the cut scene from the campaign. The Darkness has been scouring numerous solar systems in search of the Traveller, to rid of its light. You've got it spot on. I'm really excited for the next DLCs, I have a feeling Osiris will be GODLY and Failsafe may go up against Rasputin.
If the universe ever becomes like destiny's universe, I feel like we can all agree byf is gonna be our speaker, dat voice tho.#TitanMasterClass Also, I just wanna point out that even tho this is just a video about the lore of a game, you just connected it real life in such a beautiful way about how all people that play destiny are like, well I don't know exactly how to explain it but, we all come from somewhere different but nonetheless, we're all the same. Something like that. We all carry a burden of some sort and it just felt so real to me. It was awesome. Anywho, thanks byf, you a legend in my book.
After having learned of the Sunbreakers a few years ago from Byf. I’m sure Caital would’ve liked them a lot. Their code of honor, chivalry, pride, loyalty, power, and brutality. And most of all, their dedication to the Forge, the Hammer, and the hot anvil which the greatest of Solar weapons were made.
I've been a Hunter for a long, long time... but to Sunbreakers, I show a special amount of reverence. They're numbered, and the remaining Sunbreakers deserve Honor for keeping the Sunbreaker Order alive. They blazed their own path, and they met their ends head on, lightless or not. Stormcallers, Nightstalkers, Gunslingers... Defender, Striker.... They're all fine classes in their own right, but Sunbreakers... they're special. I once had a friend who was a Sunbreaker... he's gone now. I go looking for Sunbreaker Lore when I remember him...
Canonically I am assuming the player titan is the last sunbreaker, as as you said in the video, it's up to us to bring the order back to prominence.... yeah that will never be seen in game, shoulda just put em in the upcoming dlc, they weren't explored enough in game.
Just a message to BYF, you probably won’t see this but... I feel there should be a lore video on the Mida collection. Something I haven’t heard if before, until I looked at the mida mini tool lore. Worth looking in to?
Its hard to believe someone as powerful as Ouros was taken down by the red legion. They must have fought hard till the very end. I made this quote when i became a SunBreakers, "For as long as the Sun still shine and my hammer burns with light then the darkness will always fear the power of the Sol for all eternity "
😐🙁😢😭 Thank You Byf, I needed this. Definitely running my Sunbreaker tonight. 🔥🔨🔥 P.S I'm not even gonna lie, totally got emotionally invested at the end of this video lol.
My Titan that I've invested two years in has been, and has always been, no matter what I'm doing, a proud Sunbreaker. I remember doing the quest for it in TTK and I was so damn excited. Now, they're all dead, but I am still here. Do not worry, fellow Guardians. I, as well as many other Sunbreakers, will make sure your legacy does not die.
universe? yes. but thats not what makes a good game, and clearly neither is bungie. not anymore. we'll just have to wait for the live team to fix this mess of a game, just in time for D3
The only thing we hate is that the fucks over at Activision decided to let its fans pay $120 to play something the was originally supposed to be all the same content and cohesive for $60 then again cut content from the fist game and admit to cutting it for the soul purpose of using it for the second game. Making us pay another $100 just so we could understand the flaming pile of dog shit Destiny called The Campaign. I love this franchised and it's characters but is going to fall flat on its face soon
D2's Red War campaign did it's best to make us feel sympathetic towards Ghaul (outcast underdog rising to power to try and better his society). The amount of destruction he's caused when you dig into the lore, like wiping out the Sunbreakers, makes that sympathy fly out the window, for me at least.
MrJosh194 He dabbled with some vex shit. Got lost in time. The darkness is some forms. I don’t think the vex give a shit about the traveler getting nabbed, neither does the darkness. Osiris is probably okay. Saint 14 is probably dead though.
I have to say this actually got me teary eyed, there is just so much to learn from just playing and paying a little more attention to the minor details of the game. Great video, liked, subbed, notifications on. This has honestly made it so i play destiny in a hole new way, and will pay closer attention to everything.
when you talked about how people are different, and that everybody adds color and so on, and then the fact that we often use 'names' to process tragedies, the only thing i could think was that it was basically what parts of L.E Modesitts Imager's books points out. and great video. really good.
when plans A through B fail. choose Plan C, choose fusion rifles(they aren't as powerful as rocket launchers or shotguns, but we didn't stop there, they also take longer to fire)
Byf makes Destiny lore more than just words or dialogue in a game, he makes the words and stories ring deep in our souls and makes my heart ring with emotion, keep up the work Byf you'll always be my favorite RUclipsr
Jacco Stoete I didn't really care for that detail since if they had done a special mission for each time you unlock a subclass I think people would have called that out because why would we have to go through something just to get back what we are supposed to already know, it's like those times the ghost mentions something as if it completely forgot what we went through in D1. Btw what I'm about to say is kind of unrelated but just wanted to know if anybody else noticed this, we all know sooner or later we will get another subclass but we don't know about what it will be, so I was at the tower idled near Ikora and I heard she said something around the lines of "there must be a 4th type of energy, there's void light, solar light and Arc light, I've taught maybe all three of them together", the 4th subclass might be a combination of all 3 which sounds sick.
+MrJosh194 would but that fourth class is going to be green most likely. A lot of things pointed to it in d1. From emblems to weapons. Doubt it will happen though.
Hello Byf, Your videos are carrying such Humane touch that no matter what I do or where I will be, I always feel like I am part of this universe. It might be Destiny itself that after a huge gap of 12 twelve years, the first game that I picked and the first game that I kept playing still is Destiny Franchise. I know a lot of new light players might feel disassociated with the current state of Destiny storytelling from a New light player's POV. We don't have Red war, Curse of Osiris or Warmind anymore to introduce us to this universe, but your videos and the way you present them make us feel like living the history altogether. I wish you good health for all I desire is to hear your storytelling, good luck Lore Daddy.
This is by far my favorite lore video since I subscribed over 2 years ago I've been a long time viewer and after being able to sit down and watch your lore videos its amazing what you've done Byf and how high quality your content is and I hope you continue this for the years to come!
I really enjoy it when you wax poetic about philosophy in regards to destiny and your personal thoughts/feelings on the topic at hand. I don't play D2 near as much as I did D1 because I personally don't enjoy PvP as much as I did before (even though I hated the last couple metas). However, I am always excited when I get that notification about a new Byf video. Thanks for the content!
I really appreciated how you linked the lost of he Sunbreaker Order with life as a whole. Linked it to the lens that a lot of us see it through. Excellent video if I may say so.
Only in they aren't associated with the city similar to how the grey jedi don't ally with sith or jedi. Sun breakers still use light, but grey jedi use light and dark, and touch both sides, sun breakers still use only the light.
People still think that Jedi = lightside user which is not true at all. Jedi is just one philosophy of the lightside. To whom you refer to as "gray jedi" are just lightside users who don't belong to the jedi order. Just like not every Dark side user is a Sith. They are only few people who could be considered as "true gray jedi".
Seriously love all the work you do man! Freaking PHENOMENAL. Do you write the scripts yourself? Because I love how you related the frailty of the REAL LIFE human mind and brought that fantastic perspective to light. I LOVE IT. don't ever stop.
Dawnblades were the next set of the Sunsingers, they reforged their light for combat against the our greater foes, instead of using to rebuilt ones body from the ashes.
The thought and consideration you put into your videos is incredible! I'm only a short time subscriber but I've hardly seen as much passion in any other videos about gaming as I do in yours. Your script writing is incredible and gets me fired up to learn more about the Destiny Universe. Thank you for bringing more life to a game I love so much :)
Cameron Haney oh the agony. Now strikes have knock out and titans on a whole have synthoceps. Hunter have their smoke and knives, not to mention a knife that does precision dmg and explosive dmg simultaneously. I swear, the only class melee that needed a buff were the titans. Even though the strikers had shoulder charge, the other two didn't have that. But the extra dmg from a titan melee was good, all that was needed was to slightly nerf warlock melee range and maybe the tracking a little too to compensate for the range.
Destiny 1 and 2 begin with loss. In 1 we come back from the dead and see the devastation, but even more so our entire lives are gone, not a single memory remains. Family, friends, who we were is just...gone. Then we find a new identity as a Guardian and have a new home in the Tower. Then Destiny 2 happens, and we lose the Tower as we knew it and two years later we lose Cayde. There is so much loss in the lore and the storylines of Destiny, and I think that's part of why it's such an amazing and beautiful game.
Your wording at the end of this video was spectacular. I appreciate the effort that you put in to make our lives better.I am a relatively new subscriber however I have a two hour one way commute and I listen to you every day because it's clear that your heart is in this. Thank you. Keep up the amazing work. P.s. I had to create a channel just to leave a comment.
As a Sunbreaker main since they were introduced, this video hit home for me as well. I was hoping we’d see the Sunbreakers in the Osiris dlc since they were so closely linked, but thats a small, almost tiny hope at this point. Another great video!
They're not gone, Bungie just forgot about them, just like how Bungie forgot about SIVA, and the Hive, and what happened to the Fallen after D1, and how to make games replayable, and balance, and level design, and bug fixing, and how they forgot about the people who stayed for the entirety of destiny 1. Good thing they remembered marketing
If you actually paid any attention, the Fallen are still a thing,we just happen to encounter a house we never fought before. The very presence of Hive on Titan shows they are most likely Savathun's brood and SIVA is mentioned a few times from Ghost Scans and Failsafe
kiko gameplay "fuck u and 'mida is op' never used it in PvP and I have a 2.5 kd ratio on the crucible and I play only to get the milestone" I agreed with your post until I got to this part, that quote was one of the most childish posts I've read.
Though Destiny 2 has a lot of continuity errors, Those you mentioned are not one, SIVA is mentioned in the scannables, Exodus strike, and there was even a leaked unreleased SIVA related strike. The Fallen are now united under one banner, House Dusk. This new Hive breed on Titan are likely that of Savathuns.
I'm pretty sure its actually the House of Kings who have united all the fallen houses, as they were the only one's left with any sort of hierarchy as we killed all the other Archons and Kells.
Your videos are always informative, but when it's heartfelt and emotional too, that really makes them great. :-) So yeah, thanks for all the great Destiny 2 content Byf! I've really been enjoying it these past few months!
Personally, despite maining all three subclasses in both D1 and D2 I did start off as Titan. This was a great video, especially with how you connected the fall of the Sunbreaker's (holding back tears) to things in real life. Personally I would like to eventually see you delve into more about Saint-14. I know that he's been mentioned a lot in previous lore videos, but I can't really recall him getting one of his own (correct me if I'm wrong for I have a bad memory). His helmet was my favorite exotic for Titan's, not to mention how awesome it looked, and I rocked it through countless raids and strikes. Even if we'd have to wait until after the Osiris DLC for some more answers (I would assume he'd be apart of that DLC since he went to get Osiris back after he went to Mercury) I'd still like to see Saint-14 get a lore video. And even if he already does then hopefully the Osiris DLC will give us more on this legendary Titan. P.S.: Thank you so much Byf for making such wonderful content over the years. Where I have VattiVidya for my Dark Souls lore addiction, I have you to curb my Destiny lore XD
The Fury of the Forge and Honour of the Hammer of Sol will be carried forth and cemented with the new generation of Sunbreakers. I can't stress how much I adorded the lore of the Sunbreakers from D1. I'm hoping we get flashbacks or more content pertaining to them in the near DLCs to come. Wonderful video Byf, I absolutely love the quality of your videos, they're thought provoking and now I find myself watching them at 4 AM in the morning when I have work at 8 😂😂😂
When byf makes you cry a little with his beautiful words about the sense of lost in destiny..... I’m fine. I’ll just go to cry in the corner for a bit.
This is probably the third time I've watched this video I never get tired of hearing your sexy narrative voice And the way you connect the lore to real life events is fascinating I never thought I would get attached to in-game Story characters but it's impossible to resist whenever I hear your voice Keep up the good work man I love it Long live The Sunbreakers, Long live The Forge.
Byf you brought a tear to my eye.. for real.. regardless of all the bitching we do about Destiny's story, it really is badass and we all are attached to it, especially if we're regular viewers of Byf.
I would really love to see a video about the history of the light and/or the Traveller, and the different civilizations aligned with it. I know you've gone through the full history if the Destiny universe but one focused on the light in particular I feel would certainly garner a fair bit of interest.
2 things for potential coverage in the future: 1. What happened to the awoken at the reef? 2. If there are no more Sunsingers, then what has become of osiris? Love the lore vids
Hey man, I just got into your Chanel and I'll be honest.. I'm hooked! The way you and the rest of the lore community tell the story of this game makes me enjoy this game on another lvl. One thing that would be an incredible and would make me fall more in love with this game/universe would be if bungie added expansion or potions to do missions or back track stories such of "the battle of 6 fronts", "Osiris", "Toland", "Croats first raid team" etc etc. adding these side quests to just experienced and be part of that history to just experience it would be the most amazing thing bungie could probably do in the game. Tho we know the outcome of all of those stories, I want to be there next to those monumental characters/heros that changed history and made us what we are. Maybe choosing to play the main character and run thru the story mission and do as they did just the experience everything. Imagine being there playing cayde as the collapse was occurring, or seeing efredite's might in battle, or being in the team of the six fronts. Numerous games ha back and great prequels and that would be a destiny every destiny player would love to see, specially all of the lore community. I can only imagine being there experiencing these side quests. Saint 14 would be my first story I would replay with out a doubt! How great would this be..
Byf, thank you for making this video I have this armor piece, but I didn't remember the name of the speaker during the sunbreaker quest in D1. I didn't really understand the significance or magnitude that this armor piece's lore represented I've been playing a sunbreaker since it first came out in D1. I went straight to the sunbreaker in D2, I didn't really bother investing skill points in the other subclasses until sunbreaker was complete. This video meant something to me. Thank you.
Yo. This just went from 0 to 100 so fast. Like, damn. I got so sentimental. I started thinking of some of my fellow soldiers, comrades, and brothers-in-arms who weren't as lucky as I am, who don't get to go home to their families. Like wow.... I'm sad now. Still, great video as always. Keep up the great content.
This makes me feel proud to be a Titan main. Long live the Forge.
im with ya
Timothy Clougher Same. Long...live...the forge.
don't you mean always stroke the forge
Aj Jones this is also a viable option lmao
#LLTF
I’m not crying, you’re crying! 😢
RIP Sunbreakers
Here's a question for a possible video. How are guardians chosen to be hunters, titans, or warlocks? What decides which class we are and also why are these the only 3?

because bungie can't be fucked to make more than 9 "different" skillsets
Isn't that the risen got to choose their class when they heard of the last city?
If you a real one, you a titan.
there’s only 3 because Bungie is lazy
"The next time you hear the hammer strike across the battlefield, remember this."..haul ass and run the opposite direction of where you heard them LOL
Anyone up for a strike that let's us recapture the Sunbreaker outpost and re-establish the order? Sounds like a no-brainer to me... You listening, Bungie?
Strike? No a raid instead and I would think there would be a significant red legion presence I will be happy to help this is coming from a hunter
Well, we're going to Mercury in D2: Expansion 1 The Curse of Osiris...
You can count on me, Sir
RumSoakedPyrate im down
Because not everyone use sunbreakers ?
If bungee didn't nerf them in the first week of taken king they would have survived
If they didn't nerf them they would of taken over the universe, no one should have THAT much power.
Hilarious during d1 to what even a storm caller warlock with super active turn around a run when he heard the hammers
Kaleb Felix Oh first week of taken king? Is that why they were nerfed in December. Hmm strange
James Oxley
Why do you have to be like that? It was two years ago. It's not healthy to hold grudges for that long...
I'm sorry but can we please take the time to appreciate that amazing dodge that the goblin did at 2:34
MooCow Pow I was literally about to make this same comment
yess! that would've pissed me the f*** off, lol
Well spotted! Reminds me of a time in D1 when a Captain blinked to dodge my grenade. Sadly it was already stuck to his head but A+ for effort anyway!
MooCow Pow that Goblin deserves a promotion
Renji1 lol
As someone who mains a Sunbreaker, I highly appreciate and enjoyed this! Thanks, Byf.
Got that full Iron Banner armor, two fists and some flaming hammers...
and that's all a Titan needs.
Quick little theory, but more of an observation than anything, and it doesn't have anything to do with this topic about the sun breakers, and has more to do with the darkness and light in general.

Mister G and don't forget, for a brief moment, when ghaul turns into that giant form, it looks like Oryx for a second
taking leads to darker powers succeeding, while given leads to light. strange indeed.
Mate, you're a God darn prophet. This comment is 6 years old, and most of what you said here has happened.
Damn... that got deep real fast
If the universe ever becomes like destiny's universe, I feel like we can all agree byf is gonna be our speaker, dat voice tho.#TitanMasterClass

Stormcallers, Nightstalkers, Gunslingers... Defender, Striker....
They're all fine classes in their own right, but Sunbreakers... they're special.
I once had a friend who was a Sunbreaker... he's gone now. I go looking for Sunbreaker Lore when I remember him...
Who else gets hyped af whenever they get that Byf notification.
EMEX Gaming lore noobs?
EMEX Gaming yup
I enjoy listening to lore when im working, so seeing notifications lets me know that work is gonna suck just a little less.
Canonically I am assuming the player titan is the last sunbreaker, as as you said in the video, it's up to us to bring the order back to prominence.... yeah that will never be seen in game, shoulda just put em in the upcoming dlc, they weren't explored enough in game.
Technically, yes. There would be two: The player in D1, and the player in D2.
Fanfiction Writer you do know there the same right?
Boy, guess what.
6:23 that vex has to be a football player, he has the juke game on lock
Telepo- syke!
Just a message to BYF, you probably won’t see this but... I feel there should be a lore video on the Mida collection. Something I haven’t heard if before, until I looked at the mida mini tool lore. Worth looking in to?
*teleports behind you*
Imagine you're about to make a touchdown but a minotaur teleports out of nowhere and tackles you
I didn't know Asajj Ventress was a sunbreaker
I agree. I made that connection during the first week of TTK. Such a cool series referencing another cool series.
She's also Evá Levante, the D1 Shader / Festival of the Lost vendor.
That's crazy!
As a Titan main, I'm proud to be a Titan and Sunbreaker. Long live the forge.
Same, I wear the Sunbreaker Mark always. For the Forge.
Its hard to believe someone as powerful as Ouros was taken down by the red legion. They must have fought hard till the very end. I made this quote when i became a SunBreakers, "For as long as the Sun still shine and my hammer burns with light then the darkness will always fear the power of the Sol for all eternity "
Hmm... replace the end Sun with Sol. Sounds better.
done
Sounds almost like a green latern oath
Without the light Guardians are just too weak.
Someluckyzero it does but it's not. I wonder if DC comics would sue for it
😐🙁😢😭
Thank You Byf, I needed this. Definitely running my Sunbreaker tonight.
🔥🔨🔥
P.S I'm not even gonna lie, totally got emotionally invested at the end of this video lol.
Simon Gaskell same
Same here
Things got pretty deep there!
Though I main nightstalker, I can tell the sunbreakers are awesome and their story is very interesting. Indeed both subclasses are very alike
Simon Gaskell did you really need this video tho? The exotic includes it all
I prefer warlocks but this made me sad for the sunbreaker legion
DonFlamingo 92 I too prefer warlocks
Well Warlock, be wary... the Sunbreakers weren't the only thing lost on Mercury.
Morgan Karnes exactly
The Stoneborn titans were also all killed. :(
Ruiz Rz,enato why Bungie is not enough!!!!
I don’t need this much loss from a game. I’m mad they’re gone
Remember the Forge, Guardian. Hammer, fist, and shield.
And now there are thousands of them
Juan Snow _
*Millions
Juan Snow _ ARE YOU KIDDIN ME you're here too, and here i thought your reign of top comment every video was only on mr fruit's channel
there are not millions of destiny player xD
Ikr
Crimson Dagger No thousands because the game is dead
My Titan that I've invested two years in has been, and has always been, no matter what I'm doing, a proud Sunbreaker. I remember doing the quest for it in TTK and I was so damn excited. Now, they're all dead, but I am still here. Do not worry, fellow Guardians. I, as well as many other Sunbreakers, will make sure your legacy does not die.
I'm sunbreaker all the way. I almost forgot about that mission... Good times
I’m still a sunbreaker if I use the big ass maul right?
I-Im not crying you are. but really this was amazingly well put together ^^ you had me a little teary towards the end. thanks for the great vid
That was so emotional...OMG. I used Sunbreaker too in D1. I dont a main Titan but when i used it I loved Sunbreaker. Bravo Byf on this emotional video
I guess anyone who was a Titan during The Taken King could say..
_"The moment I saw the hammer, I was Taken."_
Christ this was tragic. Ouros sounded like such a badass. RIP cool mercenary hammer bros.
So many people just hate on destiny because it’s easy to talk shit about, but bungie really has created such an amazing universe
Marcus Soto amen
Preach !
universe? yes. but thats not what makes a good game, and clearly neither is bungie. not anymore. we'll just have to wait for the live team to fix this mess of a game, just in time for D3
Honestly there's plenty of things that could be much better in D2, but the Universe is what keeps me coming back.
The only thing we hate is that the fucks over at Activision decided to let its fans pay $120 to play something the was originally supposed to be all the same content and cohesive for $60 then again cut content from the fist game and admit to cutting it for the soul purpose of using it for the second game. You gotta love the backstory of the sunbreakers! So glad you made this video to make other people aware of their legacy. Keep up the good work man!
The last half of the video was so beautifully spoken. You have amazing gift for words and evoking emotions with them.
Also Mercury was left half devoured by the Almighty
Mercer2003 DAMN
There is always a chance that they didn't destroy the well
I can't wait for the Curse of Osiris expansion, did he survive that and if he did then how the hell
MrJosh194 He dabbled with some vex shit. Got lost in time. The darkness is some forms. I don’t think the vex give a shit about the traveler getting nabbed, neither does the darkness. Osiris is probably okay. Saint 14 is probably dead though.
Cool i wasn't certain if i remembered correctly. So it was Mercury.
I have to say this actually got me teary eyed, there is just so much to learn from just playing and paying a little more attention to the minor details of the game.
Great video, liked, subbed, notifications on.
This has honestly made it so i play destiny in a hole new way, and will pay closer attention to everything.
Let the sunbreakers rise again.

when you talked about how people are different, and that everybody adds color and so on, and then the fact that we often use 'names' to process tragedies, the only thing i could think was that it was basically what parts of L.E Modesitts Imager's books points out. and great video. really good.
these videos are always my plan C
FerreiraGaming eeeyy I respect that pun
Best weapon
when plans A through B fail. choose Plan C, choose fusion rifles(they aren't as powerful as rocket launchers or shotguns, but we didn't stop there, they also take longer to fire)
Puns like that are a thorn in my thigh. That'll be your last word
EliteEpicGamerz 😎
Byf makes Destiny lore more than just words or dialogue in a game, he makes the words and stories ring deep in our souls and makes my heart ring with emotion, keep up the work Byf you'll always be my favorite RUclipsr
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand in D2 we get our subclasses from chests and Public Events....
Jacco Stoete u find a relic from perhaps a fallen sunbreaker
That was just an in game mechanic, we already knew how to use those subclasses, there was no need to go through a trial to relearn them
I know, but it still felt kinda lazy. Do the exact same mission twice (with different dialog). But I guess it is kinda the theme of the game
#HammersOutForSunbreakers
Man, Byf, you deliver really hopeful messages in these vids. You've got a great way of picking apart and examining every detail.
Gotta love the grimoire of d1
This is by far my favorite lore video since I subscribed over 2 years ago I've been a long time viewer and after being able to sit down and watch your lore videos its amazing what you've done Byf and how high quality your content is and I hope you continue this for the years to come!
Well I guess I'll be using sun breaker now
I really enjoy it when you wax poetic about philosophy in regards to destiny and your personal thoughts/feelings on the topic at hand. I don't play D2 near as much as I did D1 because I personally don't enjoy PvP as much as I did before (even though I hated the last couple metas). However, I am always excited when I get that notification about a new Byf video. Thanks for the content!
I was so sad when I got the exotic and read it...
Malik Enloe which one
Mordin Solus The Hallowfire Heart
Malik Enloe oh ok
I missed the lore tab. I'm going to read it in a bit
The writing in this episode has been some of your best work, Byf; fantastic job :)
I can just imagine a d2 kindergardian saying “where’s the plants that make your super go up faster”.
The Leafman01 XDDDDDDDD
I really appreciated how you linked the lost of he Sunbreaker Order with life as a whole. Linked it to the lens that a lot of us see it through. Excellent video if I may say so.
so the sunbreakers are like gray jedi
I'm Bat squirrel pretty much
ok
Only in they aren't associated with the city similar to how the grey jedi don't ally with sith or jedi. Sun breakers still use light, but grey jedi use light and dark, and touch both sides, sun breakers still use only the light.
yeah buy guardians can only use the light
People still think that Jedi = lightside user which is not true at all. Jedi is just one philosophy of the lightside. To whom you refer to as "gray jedi" are just lightside users who don't belong to the jedi order. Just like not every Dark side user is a Sith. They are only few people who could be considered as "true gray jedi".
Seriously love all the work you do man! Freaking PHENOMENAL. Do you write the scripts yourself? Because I love how you related the frailty of the REAL LIFE human mind and brought that fantastic perspective to light. I LOVE IT. don't ever stop.
Anyone run into a Gold Vex on Nessus?
CaptainDC FanBoy The one next to Xür right?
maddog YT Yes!! Finally someone else who's seen it
kiko gameplay I recorded it and took pictures
Goddamn Byf. Keep putting out these videos dude. You're the only person making high quality lore videos
Damn that got deep...
Becomes a solar titan while causally wearing the helm of saint 14
I think you mean to say, what happened to the *Sunsingers?*
Sheshian lol
This video turned really deep 😂😂
I think the dawnblade lore tab references them
Dawnblades were the next set of the Sunsingers, they reforged their light for combat against the our greater foes, instead of using to rebuilt ones body from the ashes.
Jason is it really?
The thought and consideration you put into your videos is incredible! I'm only a short time subscriber but I've hardly seen as much passion in any other videos about gaming as I do in yours. Your script writing is incredible and gets me fired up to learn more about the Destiny Universe. Thank you for bringing more life to a game I love so much :)
Don't worry. Bungie will just pretend all this didn't happen in D3.
Dang Byf. Bringing real philosophy to the table. That was awesome. Saving this video for later so I can watch it again.
Titan master race
byf, you are truly amazing, your insight on things is so special and unique. you are an inspiration
What the blade dancer kit does and why you use a knife...
I actually got chills and feels with this video great job!! As a titan and sunbreaker main this was amazing
That was quite morbid
That
That was amazing.
I just have to say how great that speech was.
Keep it up Byf
Wtf dude. I didn't really want to get existential but ok.😯
Now we have a new Battlecry "REMEMBER THE SUNBREAKERS!"
I'll tell you, they got nerfed too hard like warlocks 😢
Onewolf101 You jokin' right?
Onewolf101 please tell me youre kidding man...
Oh the agony of a normal ranged MELEE attack
That’s funniest joke I heard all day 😂😅🤣😭😭😆
Cameron Haney oh the agony.
Great video! Honestly you got me a bit emotional when talking about the Collapse. Keep up the amazing work!
What happened to this franchise?
The Average 12 Year Old That Isn't 12 At All the devs got money hungry and cut shit out. To price it later. It's became a money grab
tyler russell I know lmao
Nothing really
Do you remember when u got exotic drops after the game
Carlos Yes
Destiny 1 and 2 begin with loss. In 1 we come back from the dead and see the devastation, but even more so our entire lives are gone, not a single memory remains. Family, friends, who we were is just...gone. Then we find a new identity as a Guardian and have a new home in the Tower. Then Destiny 2 happens, and we lose the Tower as we knew it and two years later we lose Cayde. There is so much loss in the lore and the storylines of Destiny, and I think that's part of why it's such an amazing and beautiful game.
When you don't give 3 shits about Titans or sunbreakers but it's byf so you're here.....
Your voice TOOO goood
1768matthew Your comment is wrong. The name House Dusk is used in game through scannables and certain major and ultra Fallen.
Omg the end byf always gets me in my feels great video hadn't thought about the sun breakers dying man
Your videos are always informative, but when it's heartfelt and emotional too, that really makes them great. :-)
So yeah, thanks for all the great Destiny 2 content Byf! I've really been enjoying it these past few months!
This legit brought tears to my eyes, you use the most beautiful words.
Bruh I legit got shivers down my spine. That hit deep bro. Great video byf
This is why I'm subbed this is a masterpiece full of vivacious moments and sorrow it's like a sweet and sour candy
This is probably the third time I've watched this video
I never get tired of hearing your sexy narrative voice
And the way you connect the lore to real life events is fascinating
I never thought I would get attached to in-game Story characters but it's impossible to resist whenever I hear your voice
Keep up the good work man I love it
Long live The Sunbreakers, Long live The Forge.
i really enjoy all of your lore videos byf keep up the good work!
2 things for potential coverage in the future:
1. What happened to the awoken at the reef?
2. If there are no more Sunsingers, then what has become of osiris?
Love the lore vids
Dude your just straight up amazing on how you mix games with real life
Subscribed and hit the bell, I don't sub to many channels, and even less of them get the bell. You got me with this videos. You're awesome Byf
The font used in this was very mobile friendly, thanks for that. Haven't been able to read lore text that well before.
The Sunbreaker is my favourite Titan subclass! I love your Lore videos!
I cant believe you didnt mention the Sunshot lore tab. It really helps to flesh out the Sunbreakers and makes their demise all the more tragic.
Byf, thank you for making this video
I have this armor piece, but I didn't remember the name of the speaker during the sunbreaker quest in D1. I didn't really understand the significance or magnitude that this armor piece's lore represented
I've been playing a sunbreaker since it first came out in D1. I went straight to the sunbreaker in D2, I didn't really bother investing skill points in the other subclasses until sunbreaker was complete. This video meant something to me. Thank you.
Thank you for bringing this loss into context and to the forefront of our minds.
I kno this was meant to be a lore video but dam it touched my heart in so many ways i didnt kno a lore video could...
Keep up the great content.
did you perhaps come to think that maybe he's a soldier in /real life/?
