Excellent lesson...I'm glad you are back!
Thank you!
U make the best lessons on RUclips by far
Great song killer underrated riff I always thoroughly enjoy ur instructions.
One of my favorite Metallica songs, lowkey a sleeper off the black album. Good lesson!
Love how they mix modes in this song and making it sound brutal at the same time
This and Struggle are my 2 favorite cuts off the Black Album, They dont get nearly enough love though. Thanks for this lesson
oh fuck you had me rolling at the 17:45 mark 🤣
You make great lessons. Keep it up.
Much appreciated!
Bleeding me is also tuned down by half, if I'm not mistaken.
Yes it is. I'm pretty sure the entire Load album is down 1/2 step.
Gracias
It's probably the earliest example of a metallica song half step down.... But load and reload are almost entirely tuned that way, with a couple exceptions. And also they play half step down live almost entirely. Try playing any of their standard songs along with a live video and you'll see they're always tuned to Eb live.
So happy you're still creating content. Bro, this channel must have been created over a decade by now? Now let me go and pick my electric guitar up again. Cheers!
Great lesson. I learned most of the song a while ago, but could never quite figure out that second part of the verse, when it goes to F. Really helpful!
Only made it halfway through the solo too, time to bang out the other half
Sidenote, I believe there quite a few half step down songs on load / reload (maybe most of them??)
You're right, I know King Nothing is a half step down. Shame for forgetting that one.
A good amount of Load Reload and songs from disc one of Garage Inc are Eb as well.
I think Sad But True is down tuned as well. Thanks for showing the hammer on and run at the end of the intro riff. The riff is fairly straightforward until that last part and I've never been able to get it right, but I think I can now.
Sad But True is in D standard, a whole step down.
Nice lesson. What kind guitar is that ?
Kiesel Aries
I thought both Load and Re-Load are all half a step down? Apart from Devil’s Dance which is D standard.
Bad Seed is lower also. C# standard for that one I believe. But yeah, other than that you are right man.
Its a little bit of Leper Messiah from Metallica
That’s a really nice guitar.
Thanks. It's relatively new, plays fast.
You sound amazing. are you using any pedals? how are you getting that tone?
I'm using the Quad Cortex
Few other songs by Metallica that are "easier" than MOP but that are more thrash/speed oriented:
- Through the Never (Black Album)
- Seek and Destroy (Kill 'Em All)
- ...And Justice for All (album same name)
These are a few other Metallica songs that are challenging yet not quite as daunting as MOP for anyone interested in learning how to play Metallica songs.
Please cover PT anesthetize
Sad but true is down a full step I found learning that one recently. Still a variation of standard tuning. I am not sure they ever do drop tunnings. Altho maybe drop D in load, not sure.
All nightmare long is in drop d and I think a couple others from death magnetic
what about James' rhythm parts under the solo??
It's essentially the Intro Riff and the Verse riff.
