Getting that Shiny Yellow Gold,my friend,Whoo Hoo! Tennessee here! Thanks for the adventure! Just need more like that water worn piece you found last time!
You arent detecting if you dont get more trash than treasure! It's gold I tell ya,its in me 'and! Getting that Shiny! Nice nugget, just need more like you found last visiting this area!
Very interesting video. I believe that it was a bullet as, the marks around the base are caused by the grooves of the gun barrel I think. I was wondering what a test hole is though that you mentioned?
Thanks for the comment, Jackson. A test hole is a small hole dug out of the ground by the original prospectors. They did this to test the material for both gold and other related minerals. Most are typically from the 1800s (although some people still use the method today). I did read somewhere that only 1 in 300 test holes turned into profitable working or mine. Hard Yacka.
lucky to find a nugget mate me and my mate still trying to find a piece yet detecting we about 5 hrs away hopefully try to get out there in the next couple weeks mite bump into you
@adamteague462 Glad you are enjoying the journey mate. Thanks for following along. Hopefully there can be some more treasures to eventuate in the future!
To give some perspective on just how easy it would have been to get lost, back then the state was around 90% Forest opposed to now only being around 20%. Pity images can't be posted in comments, because i have old surveying maps showing it
That is an interesting thought mate, and makes total sense. I'd love to see those images too. Is hard to imagine sometimes with so much land taken up now for agriculture.
@@BendigoGoldProspecting Google,,, victoria forest coverage changes. First link at least when i do it comes up with www.crcsi something something and a pdf, section 5 has the 2 maps 1867 and 1987 and start of section 6 has a run down but you might find the whole thing interesting

Hi mate, I'm enjoying your vids. I've found Bendigo to be remarkably consistent for gold detecting. Good luck.
