Snuffy's Turf Luck must have been one of the earliest ones produced, because it's copyrighted 1961, while others are copyrighted 1962, '63, and '64. And you can tell a BIG difference with the Jack Kinney animation as opposed to Paramount

In addition to Paul Frees and Penny Phillips voicework, Doodles Weaver provided the voice of the race announcer in the style of Spike Jones' William Tell Oveture (1948). Such a hilarious highlight.

Spark Plug is actually Barney Google's horse. These cartoons are a mix of characters from two different comic strips that were years old by this time.

Why can't they make decent cartoons like this instead of all that adult crap that they show on FOX!?
It takes too many musicians… if you listen carefully that’s a large musical score and it’s coordinated with the cartoon they didn’t have multi track recording, so it was like herding cats to put together a cartoon with sound. I’m sure they had a lot of fun doing it though.

I woke up last night with this on the TV. Hadn't heard that theme in decades. I had forgotten how truly awful and wretched these early '60s cartoons were.
