I think it's great that you talk about dutch books and authors!! More people should do that, making videos in english for a larger audience, but talking about books in other languages, so we can keep an eye out for a translation! I have also been noticing I read a lot in english and not that much in my first language, french, it's probably a side effect of following a lot of english language booktubers! So yeah! It's great to diversify! Thank you for sharing your local authors! 💚🪴🌱🌿🌳
@@leoraaileen hey i saw scribd audio book trial for 60 days in description, i never tried scribd before so i need to known can we download the audio books to our device (phone, lap top, computer...)
Even if I can't find English translations of the books you show, I still enjoy seeing the vibe of what you're reading and why you chose each book. I feel like sometimes the same books show up over and over again on Booktube, so it's always a treat to see lesser known titles. It's interesting to see what's out there in different countries.
The book by Victoria Platova sounds really interesting, it's unfortunate it's not translated into English or any language I can speak. I loved the selection of the books you showed today, even though I don't speak Dutch to be able to read them, it's nice to hear you talk about them and to know about more books that I would otherwise have never heard of
I couldn't make it to Deventer this year 😢, but just last Sunday I was in Bredevoort...a small but such a lovely place. A book market and quite many book shops...just heaven! I loved your haul, especially because of the books in Dutch. I read only English, but is time to have the courage to read in the language I speak every day.
🍃🌿🍀"The Appeal" sounds right down my alley, I'll look for it! Also, I love thrifting books too!!! Often you get notes or photographs that were forgotten inside of them and I love that 'cause I can imagine the story of that book and of the people who owned it ❤
I perfectly understand why you feel this pull towards the books written in your mother tongue and I find it interesting, hearing about what is being published in other countries 🍁
The art in the fairy book really reminds me of John Bauer. He was a Swedish painter that focused on folklore as well, and has made some stunning artwork!
Hi Leora🥰 which books would you recommend if I want to learn Dutch apart from the ones you mentioned in this video? Our taste in books is pretty similar btw so anything you liked would probably be a good time for me as well, but as a beginner, I'm thinking maybe middle grade would be best?🥰
🌳🌿🪴Your smiles and enthusiasm always brighten my day! You are a true treasure for all who follow you!🌹 I loved your video Devanter and the book market. It was all so beautiful and fun!
Perfect day to upload..... Supermoon! 🌕 I recently received my bookmarks I ordered. They are very lovely and the personal touches on the envelope made me smile. Thank you 🌃
Recently subscribed! A video suggestion: can you do a video with all your recommended Dutch books? 🤔 any genres. Also, where is the secondhand book store located?
I try to read more in Dutch as well which is why I have a Kobo Plus subscription. When I buy books I try to buy them second hand but that's just not always an option 😅 I would love to see more people talk about Dutch books and support our own authors and publishers 😊 But I also understand that a lot of people want to read the new, hyped books and those are usually written in English
Hey, from Finland! I like hearing about Dutch books as well, even tough i cant read them. :) Its still interesting to me at least. :) Maybe you can do a separate videos once in a while where you talk about dutch books you have read, idk, i would still watch them for sure!
Omg snap I literally just posted a dark academia book haul! 🤎 I love this time of year and getting together all my autumnal reads. Pride and Prejudice is on my physical TBR too. Also, those earrings are absolutely stunning on you ⭐️🌙
Not sure if you meant this by the way you said it, but just to be clear, Ireland has it's own Republic and is not in the UK. There is Northern Ireland that's a part of the UK but the majority of Ireland is it's own independent country. X
This was so fun! And, I love to hear about books that aren’t necessarily available to me, even if I am itching to read it too. I did send you a message on Instagram about the faerie book because I have a crazy coincidence with it. I love book sales and fairs, and I buy a lot of second hand books at estate sales.
Hi, I know comment late I thought I could fine the book that you was presenting that day. It’s de Elfen book, what’s the Author name I can’t fine it there are so many fairy books. Really would appreciate it
Ik wist niet dat je Nederlands was! Jeetje het viel echt niet op haha ❤ je maakt hele leuke video’s!! Ik heb pas The Cruel Prince gekocht, die ben ik nu aan het lezen 🫶🏼 I love your vids😊
I don’t you start a separate blog from your main for the Dutch books you want to review? I think the Dutch book community could use some content makers who actually have good quality video.
Well, I think you shouldn't really think about not reading in Dutch just because there is a lot of people on your audience that doesn't speak/understand Dutch. Since it's your mother tongue, you should read in Dutch if you want to. I use A LOT my local library, a little bit too much actually haha.. It kinda ruins my aims to read my physical tbr in my home lol.

🥬🍁🍀🍂🍃 Here's a whole collection of leaves for you! The idea you love seeing them all pop up in the comments is so sweet! ^^
Your earrings are stunning! Where did you get them?!
I mainly buy from my local indie bookshop, I also thrift books 🍂 🍃 🍂 🍃
It's always an amazing feeling when you discover a new favorite book that's written in your mother tongue
I have the english version of the book on faeries! It's gorgeous and I re-read it often when I was a teen.

I really like hearing about the Dutch books and I only speak English. It's just fun to hear about them even if I can't read them.

I have that book in Engllish, it's so lovely!
I LOVE your videos, I love to trift books 🍂🍁🪹🍄

I think, if you are looking for more cozy mysteries, you should check out The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley! 😁
ooh i'm russian and from Saint-Petersburg too so the first book is super intriguing (and i can access it pretty easily hehe)
I loved seeing the market! Also love how you edit and music and such ❤
