*A few weeks ago, I went to Starbucks to get a coffee for me and my 2 coworkers. After receiving my drinks, I had asked for a tray because the drinks were hot. The girl informed me that their tray order hadn't come in so they were out for the moment. I looked down at the drinks in my hand and wondered how I was going to carry 3 hot drinks to work. I worked down the street from Starbucks, but I couldn't carry 3 large drinks. This young teenage boy who worked there, offered to help me carry the drinks to work, he carried 2 and I carried one. He went out of his way to help me get to work with those hot drinks, no one had ever done that for me. What a sweet boy, I did write a review in our local town business review online about him. It was a small act but a very thoughtful one. I wanted to share that.* 💙

I still have faith in people. The media and even the web portray people as mostly bad. But I have always felt that there are a lot of genuinely good people who will and do go out of their way to help others. The best part is we are everywhere.

    • @Mileys_choice
      @Mileys_choice 2 года назад +3

I know the media has their evil ways about some things. However, I don't feel *they* are the ones portraying people as bad; *people* are the ones putting their own bad behaviors on display, and they're simply reporting what's there. All the horrible goings-on in the world have to actually be occurring for them to even have anything to report. It seems, there are still good people in the world, but think about how fleeting those people & random acts of kindness are.
I've always been a reserved, introverted person who preferred to quietly observe people rather than be a social butterfly, and all that observing has allowed to me see just how ugly & dirty people can be when they think no one's watching or listening. The ugliness of the world, both online & off, has made me get to the point to where I truly love, respect & care more for animals than I do most -but not all -humans.

@@Mileys_choice Have to agree with you on this one, Miley. For each year over 9 million (!) people die of hunger and hunger related diseases. We are on January 7th 2022 and so far this year 162,620 and counting have already gone in this awful, hurting way. And what does humanity do? Some put huge efforts in, but clearly those are a minority.
Those acts of kindness are nice, but we need a whole lot more and a whole lot more substantial.
So how about all those do-good-ers not give a meal to a homeless person this time, but a job and/or a home? How about paying an honest wage for an honest job?

It's amazing how you can tell from a toddlers age if they are going to be a good person or not. If they hurt animals, future serial killer. When I was a kid I hurt pretty bad a feral cat once for no reason and then felt so guilty about it, that I took it home and told my parents about what I did with the cat in my arms and they instead of getting angry with me, took the cat to the vet to help him and after he recovered we adopted the cat, instead of beating me or punishing me for what I did, they showed me how to love him and respect him and how to be nice to other creatures, he lived with us 15 years happily until he passed away peacefully. Kids are never evil they just need to be taught compassion and empathy, is never too late to teach a kid those values, nobody is born to be a future serial killer, is just that some of us need a little push to the right side and special care and attention.
Love your kids and teach them good values, there's nothing more important than that to make a good person.

I was driving home from shopping and drove past an old man trying to change his tyre on a busy main road. I looped around the block and drove behind his car and a little closer to the inside of the lane, so it would give us more room to work with. I put my hazzard lights on and got out. He was moving quite slow but had almost had the flat tyre off. I asked him if he wanted help, his English wasn't good but he knew what I was asking. He wasn't strong enough to lift the spare tyre out of the boot (trunk) of his car. I let him rest and I continued to change it. Once it was all done, I packed the flat tyre, the jack and tools in his car. In broken english he said thank you and that he was 70yrs old then he handed me a twenty ($20). The drive home from that point felt fulfilling and I felt really good for the rest of that day 😌🙏

My husband and I put ourselves through college. We both worked full time, attended classes at night and literally lived on ramanan noodles pay check to pay check. We loved our life and happy to achieve our dreams, it was a very cold wet winter that year. One of my classmates Carolyn who I didn’t know very well, surprised me with a thick fleece lined denim jacket that her daughter had outgrown. She’d just noticed that all I ever wore was a windbreaker from my high school band days and thought I looked incredibly cold. It’s been over 30 years and I still get tears, have & wear the jacket. Her kindness to this day still warms my heart as it does my body.

I always try to commit one nice act a day. I work out every day when possible and if I see a new person or a kid, I go to them and praise them for training. Yesterday I saw a woman at night lying on the pavement on a hill I go for walks on. So many people just drove past her. I wanted to walk away because it was scaring me a little but I thought to myself, what would it make me if I just left her lying there? I spoke to her and she was crying her eyes out. I asked if she needed help or anything but she thanked me and said no. I walked away (because she told me she didn’t need any help and I didn’t wanna stress her more) and luckily there were two adults walking up the hill towards the woman so I spoke to them and they went to her and called an ambulance for her. I was so shocked to see how a car just drove past that woman and didn’t even stop to help her. I still don’t know what was wrong with her, most likely some sort of mental breakdown but I hope she’s ok now.
I also once stayed with a hedgehog for multiple hours and even took it into the house because it wasn’t well. I didn’t notice until I put him into a cardboard box but he was bleeding. Turns out he had been attacked by some sort of animal (I think it was a cat) and was missing a leg. Unfortunately the poor animal didn’t make it. The vets had to put him down.

Your awesome and thanks for sharing this as it made my day and inspire me to go out there and spread even more joy 💜

Kids like Jackson is the reason why I have faith in youths. Eventually I'm gonna be old - grey and needing some younger person to get me outta bed every morning...and I hope it's a lad or women like Jackson - Wellington that's caring for me 😊👍 Personally I thank young men like Wellington for setting this natural example to younger generations ❤️

When I was stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia, some friends and I went to a bar in Augusta after work one night. I stepped outside for a smoke about 30 minutes after arriving at the bar and saw a homeless man sitting on the curb with a sign saying he was hungry. There was a hot dog cart nearby, selling hot dogs and soda, so I walked over and bought myself a hot dog and the homeless man two hot dogs and a pepsi. I went to give him the hot dogs and soda and asked him if I could eat my dinner with him. He gladly accepted and started crying. I told him it was no big deal, but he just kept crying and saying "you're my family, man". We ate dinner on that curb and got to know each other a little bit. I got him another hot dog when I left for the night and gave him my remaining cash, which was only like 12 dollars at that point. I went back to that bar a lot but never saw him again.
Anyway, long story short, some drunk guys started berating me for helping that guy out. They said he should get a job, and that I was just showing off by helping him. The moral of the story is, no good deed goes unpunished.

The story about Bruno (teacher), is the classic old time meaning "KARMA" .. he was rewarded with such grace/kindness/love, because of how he is/was to all of the students/kids..I think Bruno gave unconditionally, loved with no limits, helped with all his gentle-kind-soul to any & all depths possible.. for that he was rewarded with Karma, of only the best, most beautiful Angels in the world {our children}... 🙏💙💚💛🧡💜💕💞💞💞💞💞

In July 2017, I experienced a small miracle after getting lunch for a stranger. I’d stopped at a drive through on my way to visit my grandma in the hospital. A man came up to me, staying on the grass area where the menu stood and assuring me that he wouldn’t hurt me; he then asked if I could get a meal for him and his uncle until their ride arrived; they were having car trouble and didn’t have funds at the time, so someone was coming to get them and their car. I got him a meal and the largest size of Powerade for the man and his uncle. I meant to ask for an extra straw but forgot; I ended up giving away both the straw intended for the men’s drink and the one for my own drink. I thought I’d get a straw at the hospital, so it wasn’t a big deal. However, when I pulled into the parking lot at the hospital and looked in my meal bag, there was a straw! Additionally, my grandma made a full recovery and was released later that day. She’s still alive and doing well.
