@@masterxyr The safest place to be in a stopped elevator is in the elevator. If you notice, the elevator stops and she doesn't hesitate to squeeze between the elevator and the shaft wall. It's not like she's waited a long time.
This is the stupidest thing anyone could do, rescuers or no rescuers. It looks to me like this isn't the first time she's done this. If you think her actions are smart and my comments deserve a Darwin Award, well more power to you, please find yourself a comfy chair and don't forget to take your medications okay ? I was expecting the little red kayak or canoe in the narrow river or ditch to encounter an alligator or crocodile, but hundreds of them? That was incredible. He or she could hardly even attempt to turn around once they passed the point of no return. They had to go for it. If you fell in you wouldnt even have to worry about it. It will be over fast. Bunch of awesome clips again. Was fun to watch. Great video

But I don't understand why she didn't just hit the door open button, and when it moved , why she didn't just bring it down to the floor she was originally on. That case of water was obviously there to keep the elevator doors open. She didn't seem too bright.

Agreed. I saw it in my own cat and she was age 17 at the time. My computer large black modem cord was lying on the floor by my bed where I was sitting up working on something. The cat came in, saw the cord, looked it over for a moment and then began batting at it, the hits getting more pronounced! I watched for a minute, then eased my foot off the bed and pushed the black cord a bit with my toe. My cat jumped straight up in the air almost 4 feet, her eyes wide with apprehension. I wanted to laugh out loud but didn't want to embarrass the old girl! But I'll never forget that super-speedy reflexive reaction she demonstrated! Not bad for an old girl, but I felt kind of bad about it and quickly pet and reassured her that it was okay and kicked the black, offending snake-like cord under my bed! Cats instinctively hate snakes and I'm sure she thought the thick black cord was a snake!
There's a vid, here on RUclips, that I watched, two or three years back.
A cat plays the drums on a snake's head, until the snake get's the message and moves on.
It tried strike after strike at the cat, but the cat just kept effortlessly batting on it's skull.

When i was at 29 palms i got to sit in my humvee at the end of the flight line and see f-15 do that straight up maneuver, it was like a tornado and the sound was felt in your bones..
Try having a harrier lose it, yards from you. Luckily there was an ocean for me to dive into. Even under water I felt the heat.

What a fabulous layout of well done clips. Very tired of so many hate filled, mean spirited, unhappy sites that leaves me drained and feeling burnt out or angry or wanting revenge at someone or anyone or feeling "why.bother---it's just all a losing game no one wins." Watching that wind turbine burn reminded me of the photo taken years ago of two technicians caught on a burning turbine. The story is one technician jumped to his death rather than burn but the second technician couldn’t and burned to death.
Apparently now they have abseiling gear to rappel to the ground.

@@jwalk318 Sadly I think it's sometimes because designers and engineers are too overconfident in their abilities. They reassure themselves that "That would never happen"....until it does.
Sometimes it's because making something idiot proof just encourages God to make a better idiot. Chainsaws in Sweden used to have a warning on them "Do not stop blade with hands or testicles".... I can't even imagine how that one came about.

@@JohnJ469 Always takes a tragedy before companies are either willing or forced to spend money to ensure their employees safety. However, sometimes an employee is too much of an idiot to bother to engage safety protocols. About 10 yrs ago, an employee at a wholesale bakery I know, was beheaded because he failed to engage the safety lockouts on a blender. Another idiot working with him accidentally (and yes, the accident was investigated as a possible homicide) turned on the blender when the guy was still partly inside. There were lockouts to prevent this and both had received training but the employee just didn’t bother with them. You can’t fix stupid.
I want to know the reasons for, and outcomes of a lot of these happenings, especially the last one. What was the girl thinking? She must have been rescued - hopefully? Did she manage to get back into the elevator?
I think it was elderly woman and you saw it she was recused after, maybe she haven't been in an elevator before or probably she didn't know much about the function of an elevator..

Do you mean the one @15:25? Did you also notice that it kills the driver? That barrier is a rather permanent installation. No Truck driver in the world is ever going to use something that will by default kill him by folding his truck like Picaso doing origami on LSD, while he was still in it. I am confident that is a much more horrifically painful death than I as a former truck driver would ever choose for any reason.

The cars on the ship caught fire because the weather tossed mists of salt water on to the cars, which have batteries in them that don’t like salt! Luckily just the cars burned up, and not the ship itself!

Yes that is one reason but the logical reason is friction because they were not tied down but who wants the truth of laziness and lack of poetical. Maritime Law stipulates that all loads be restrained. What do i know lol. 25 years as a Mariner with 40 years of being a Firefighter and yes logical gets thrown out the window in these situations.

the fire also started during the day, on one vehicle near the front starboard. I was on a ferry once when a vehicle on it caught fire, there was a lot of smoke but I had walked on so no worries about my vehicle, and it was put out before the ship reached port

Someone else, above, stated that she was 100% deaf and 100% mute and had never used an elevator before. She was unfamiliar with them and panicked. However, she apparently made it out alive.
29:50 i don’t know were this took place, but in the US you have to pay for each guardrail that you take out if this happens to you. I only know this because my father was a truck driver and he took out 96 guardrails one winter, during a storm. He was billed by the state for each guardrail...they count how many of the “stakes” you destroy and count them as one rail. It was ridiculously expensive.
Insurance pays for the guardrails and also for dividers/Jersey barriers. Your dad shouldn’t have had to pay a single penny out of pocket.

I've seen the same clip in another video. The lady is mute and deaf and didn't know how to use the elevator. It took a few hours but she was rescued.
@@francklie6568 I’m so happy to learn she was rescued!! Now I’ve really been hit in the feels because my father is 100% deaf. He isn’t mute, but imagining him in any scary/helpless situation breaks my heart.
