There are actually 4 subway stops in Etobicoke; Old Mill, Royal York, Islington & Kipling. There are also GO Train Stations at Mimico, Kipling, Etobicoke North. There is also the Renforth Mississauga Transit terminal as well and the Eglinton LRT is expanding to cover Etobicoke all the way to the Renforth Terminal.
Secondly Etobicoke is very diverse in regards to real estate, from the affordable markets of Rexdale, Silverthorne, Dixon and Thistletown to the posh areas of Humber Valley, Chestnut Hills, Royal York & Eatonville. Lumping Etobicoke in one is like lumping cars and planes into a single category called vehicles and commenting about those as one entity.

Bloor West Village is not in Etobicoke. Once you have crossed the Humber river, you are in Etobicoke.

You need a car in all parts of Etobicoke except the Bloor Street corridor from East Mall to Jane.

Not really. You got Kipling, Islington, Royal York and Old Mill station. You got the Bloor and Dundas bus. The GO bus/train is right here. Lakeshore is actually slightly less convenient.

Great video - just to clarify, there are no 1 Bed apartments available for under $2,000? I've seen some online in my search...

Best places are South so you can take Lakeshore downtown if you want to. Pretty and often faster than the Gardiner.

Car is a hard requirement. Going from Humber bay to union station is a 50 minutes ride at best.
With a car you can make it in 15 minutes

Haters gonna hate. All I see are videos of people explaining why they're leaving, why Toronto is a dump, why everything is so expensive, traffic sucks, etc. Welcome to living in a city of nearly 3 million people. When you include the entire GTA, its closer to 5 million. What do you expect? You think Toronto has a budget for keeping streets clean 24/7? With an influx of immigrants that traffic is shockingly NOT going to suck? Prices are expensive? Oh gee sorry you can't afford to have steak every night. Complaints that housing is too expensive? No it's not. How do I know this? Why are people still renting then? Why is house inventory so low? I say leave the market alone and let the consumer dictate prices. I agree houses shouldn't be worth $3 million, $2 million or even $1 million. However, if there are buyers at $3 million, $2 million or $1 million, then THAT'S WHAT HOUSES ARE WORTH! Affordable housing will not work in a city like Toronto. Why? Because what's supposed to happen when a new owner of a pre-construction house classified as "affordable housing" going to do when they eventually sell? Are there going to be laws in place to prevent a property from being sold at market value? This is not a free market system. Food prices? Give me a break. It's a worldwide crisis, granted. We're not the only ones who have to adapt to higher costs. It's called budgeting. Sorry, but instead of having steak and potatoes once a week, maybe once every 2 weeks. How about stop eating out 3 times a week? Stop buying $7 Starbucks every goddamn day. I especially love the beer and cigarette bitches who have no problem spouting off about those prices...and yet they STILL buy them don't they? To those people - seriously - what will make you quit smoking and drinking? $25, $35/carton? $60 or $70/24-pack? You'll still be lined up on a Friday night getting your case of beer and carton of smokes for the weekend, no matter what f*cking prices rise to.
I'm 40, married, 2 kids, 3 cars, house in Etobicoke. I gross $72K, wife grosses $64K. Side hustle grosses another $35K. We moved 4 times to afford our downpayment. Our mortgage payments went from $532/week to $692/week when rates rose. And we're STILL SURVIVING because we know what's important, what isn't, what we need, what we don't, and we work f*cking hard. We're not stinking rich. Nobody financially helped us get to where we are. We're just smart people, who made the right decisions. Again, this is life in Toronto. I was born here, raised here, live here and I'm most likely gonna live out my days here. If I can do it, so can anyone else.

Toronto proper has surpassed 3 million and the metropolitan area has close to 7 million. The golden horseshoe area is over 11 million.
