So this is a small thing, but I found it really affirming when he said he felt mentally drained after a day of shooting. Sports photography definitely does that to me. At first I couldnt figure out why I felt so drained our exhausted driving home after shooting a few games. I kept wondering if I hadn't slept well. It's the intensity of focus on so many things for so long. I think it can be even more draining when you're working with a high functioning camera such as the R3 or something similar.
Jeff thank you for showing us the multi-exposure a achievements you've had. Very generous of you to show us that, and you have definitely made it work.

The photo of Phelps doing butterfly is great. I replicated it several times shooting a swimming competition on the weekend. 👌

This is why you remain a favorite of mine, Jeff. Another great presentation.......and I think that I have seen all of yours. Don't know why some people give it a thumbs down.

muchas gracias y por la humildad de mostrar sus primeras imágenes y demostrar que con solo cambiar el angulo se mejora mucho y buscar sus fondos y esperar esas reacciones de los deportistas !!!

great presentation Jeff. It just proves that if you have enough dedication and passion, even "normal" people can succeed in a highly competitive area of photography. You don't have to work for one of the big agencies.

Sehr informatives Video, auch wenn für mich nicht viel Neues dabei war. Sehr interessant war es aber einmal einen Blick hinter die Kulissen bei Olympia zu werfen.

Love your presentations, Jeff! Quick questions: when shooting with such quick turnaround (ala Olympics) are you still shooting raw? And how are you able to get them into Lightroom so fast? I'm assuming you use the import function to pull the photos from a drive you've store them on? Not sure how Photo Mechanic works with that type of integration

yodapoolman You should watch some of his other videos where he discusses his work flow in more detail: you'll understand why PM (Photo Mechanic) fits in. Besides, if you listened carfully, he said: PM + Ps (Photoshop / camera raw), no LR there...
Jeff is really hyper-efficient in his work flow!

Jeff, you might tell your audience that in those 14 minutes to upload, you have "locked" the top images shot ( of the thousands) in your camera, then used Photo Mechanic to load only the locked photos. Otherwise, audience members will be mystified how you are able to scan those thousands of pictures in a post review, caption, and upload. Just saying.

Jeff is a photographer of the people. Not like those snooty SI photogs who tell you how great they are and have $50,000 worth of gear in their bag.
