- Walk around, external and onboard footage of Terry Lawlor's ex-Bob Morris XD Falcon at the 2022 Baskerville Historic meeting.
The car was originally built in 1980 for Bob Morris and Bill O’Brien, and qualified 6th at Bathurst. It was agreed at that race to allow Allan Moffat to take over driving duties should his car retire which it did. In any case, the Channel 7/ Breville car retired with a blown engine.
I love that these cars are still performing. Big props to the drivers and mechanics that keep them alive. It would also be good to see some super touring cars in the field.
Makes it look easy.
Kinda looked like he was cruising around, early braking down the back straight and so on. Times weren’t bad at all though, so clearly a smooth driver.
Think he dipped into the 59s by the end of the weekend. Steve Masterton holds the Group C lap record from 1984 with a 56!!
Done with a John Skola,Pat Purcell engine.
what a weapon of car, in perfect condition, wasn't it the first car to have an onboard TV cameras
Yeah something like that 👍
Peter Williamson Celica 79 was the first
Man, I thought that car was totalled at Bathurst 81. The crash that pretty much ended Bobby Morris’s racing career
This car became the Everlast XD for 81 Bathurst and retired with engine drama. Was also used by Morris at the start of 81 before being sold.
