"who told her story?" well i think that's truly the beauty of hamilton. this isn't Alexander Hamilton, it's Hamilton. It is both Alexander and Eliza's story.
Right after they said that I literally said “that’s the thing, the musical IS her story.”
Well, since there was a musical about Hamilton, Eiza truly succeeded in keeping their legacy alive.
Yesss I saw this theory just this past year that the musical Hamilton isn't actually about Alexander, it's about Eliza. And it blew my mind.

Eliza's orphanage is still standing and running to this day, under the name Graham Windham. Phillipa Soo has done some work there and has a picture next to their plaque honoring Eliza. Eliza lived until the age of 97. She met Abraham Lincoln.

I like to play this song whenever I'm starting to lose sight of my purpose in life, it kinda makes me wanna push myself coz I wanna do alot before my time has ended
This animatic just showed what an amazing woman Eliza was. The strength in her to forgive Alexander’s faults and all that he’d done to her and their families name - you can tell she truly LOVES him. I just can’t even explain how amazing and strong she is! Eliza honestly deserved the world.

You ask who tells Eliza’s story... it’s Lin Manuel. At the end of the play when he takes Eliza’s hand, it’s not as Hamilton. At that point he is Lin Manuel and HE is telling HER story!

Right?! I think the song makes people cry because it’s sad, but also happy at the end because, hundreds of years later, their story was finally told. That kind of thing always gets me.
The orphage became a family support center that still exists today.
There's a part this missed a bit. At the end of the play, she's escorted to the front of the stage and usually the lights come up to show Eliza the crowd and she gives what sounds like a gasp and starts crying. The prevailing thought is that it's Eliza's reaction to the play itself telling HER story. Also, because it's "Hamilton" escorting her up there the thought is that the person escorting her there is not Hamilton, but Lin Manuel-Miranda.
Lin I believe said that the gasp and what it means was left up to each different actress who played Eliza. The way I reacted to it when I first watched is I thought it was her death cry almost, like a gasp as she crossed over to see alexander.
I’m so glad you guys watched ziksua’s version!!!! It’s in my opinion the best version and the ending ALWAYS gets me. She died with a smile on her face and met everyone she ever cared about in the afterlife. SUCH A GOOD ANIMATIC! And now you guys should react to First Burn by Ziksua it’s an incredible animatic as well to an incredible song!

when you see tears streaming down the both of their faces it's hard to keep it together! It's hard enough just with the song alone, but because us normal human beings have empathy it kind of has a chain reaction effect, I had tears streaming down my face the second I saw JV crying, cause I wasn't exactly expecting it.

When I went to see this musical at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, it was beautiful. I’m happy that more and more people are reacting to these beautiful songs.
While seeing the live performance of every song in the Disney movie elevates them all from the soundtrack and the animatics, this one is much better live, especially the gasp Eliza does at the end which has become so talked about.

In all seriousness i always tear up at this song. She truly loved him even after their issues she forgave him and they got through Phillip's death together. It broke her heart when he died and she wanted his legacy to live on in history and made her own marks too.
