Speaking as a K5 owner - in conjunction with your other rifles you’ll enjoy the option of a handy, light rifle which will cover many of your needs. Very easy to travel with as well.

I've just been looking at these, quite limited info online and not many places in the UK seem to be selling them. Even the bergara website doesn't provide much info and half of the descriptions contradict themselves!
That said, I'd be very keen to see these in the flesh. Hopefully they'll be at the Stalking Show? I was looking seriously at a Marlin lever action for short range easy carrying woodland work, but something like this might be even better (and I could buy a scope to go on it and still get change from the Marlin money!)

Doesn’t quite compare to the merkel in terms of fit and finish… this would be great for a light carry rifle to just abuse in all weather though!
I have mixed feelings regarding Bergara rifles. I have to admit that the barrels are very good and that they shoot very very accurately. But I dislike the finish and the lack of fine details. I know this goes inside the ground of personal preference but I have used for one season a Bergara B14 Hunter in 7mm Rem Mag and I did not like the feel of it. That rifle just did not suit me.
