I love Nela! 😮😍 How can she be so perfect? It’s incredible to watch her and it never, never gets boring. She brings something new to every role she dances and it doesn’t matter how often she already performed it. I would die for the chance to learn from her how to dance with such grace, lightness, elegance, precision, passion and diversity. Marianela Nunez is a true star and quite rightly is referred to as the queen 👑 ♥️
noopy99 So true. And if you were lucky enough to hear her ‘behind the scenes’ Programme on BBC Radio 4 last year, it is quite clear she is a grounded, kind and very thoughtful woman too. She has a friendly word for everyone she works with, whoever they are. She described how she travels home on the Tube after performing, sometimes carrying the bouquet with which she had been presented, and gets asked by folks if it’s her birthday, just smiles and says that it is... I don’t think I know of any star so supremely gifted who is so modest and self-effacing... Quite wonderful...❤️
@@martinhowell5335 Sadly, I did not hear it. I am not sure if it's available in Germany anyways. Do you know if there is any possibility to access it somehow? However, I noticed how kind she is throughout the short interviews in the cinema live streams though. Even how she reposts stuff on Instagram that her fans posted or that she tries to reply to messages. She's truly amazing. I wish I get the chance to see her perform live before the day arrives she retires - though I hope that this day is still far, far away... :D
noopy99 I will see if I can find it (and if so, illegally record it as an MP3....!). If so, I will let you know and ask for an email address to send it to. It was fabulous - she is such a lovely performer and person.
noopy99 It IS still available.... send me your email or contact and I will send it to you, once I have recorded it. (Don’t tell the BBC!). You will love it 😊
I remember these dancers learning this choreography one year above me in The Royal Ballet School at 18 years old and to see them now dancing this together as two Principles of The Royal Ballet is quite emotional :))
Part of Marianela's artistry is just beyond description. Guess that's appropriate for dance. But it instantly makes me emotional, before I've even begun to process it on any other level. Perhaps it's some kind of fusion of her soul and body.
Plus the stunningly beautiful music. Compared to the First and Third Movements which to me are horrible noise and dissonance and I hate them. And adore this middle Second movement.
The loveliest and most versatile dancer at the RB. watching her for 20 years now and always comes up with a wonderful performance. A smile like Fonteyn and incredibly natural.
Nunez is, as always, exquisite, but Pennefather is the unsung hero here. He is so selfless and partners with such incredible skill. So sad he’s not with the company anymore!
This is one of my very favorite pieces from The Royal Ballet and Kenneth MacMillian .Marianela is exquisite .... totally complimented by Rupert's control
As always, Nela is stunning. But this time I want to especially applaud the choreography! Usually my eyes are fixed on Nela, but in this piece I am simply in awe how beautifully the colors, shadows, and lights of the lead dancers and the background dancers match so well together. Each scene is like an oil painting.
This ballet premiered in 1966? Unbelievable! It looks just as fresh and modern as if it were choreographed yesterday. Marianela is perfect and beautiful and as usual!
@@naiadelacrimosa5234 he left the royal ballet in '15, seemingly pretty suddenly. Granted he has had his issues with injuries, but there was no obvious reason for leaving so suddenly at that time, they even had to change the castings. And he hasn't danced or even been around since.

It is a shame that I have never watched Rupert’s performance live. His departure from The Royal Ballet is always a mystery to me. I wish him all my very best.
Honestly think this is one of the most beautiful things ever choreographed, and definitely the most beautiful Macmillan ever created. Think he made it for the Stuttgart Ballet because RB weren't that interested in him at the time. So glad to see they're performing it now.
Que agregar a todo lo escrito. Tengo una ecuación que ya se la escribí a Nela, sublime, inconmensurable, única, mágica etc,etc igual PERFECTA !!!!! BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO !!!!!!

Exactly, David. You 'said' it perfectly: "some kind of fusion of her soul and body!" - Greetings from Mexico

Stunning! Marianela Nuñez is perfection. What a beautiful way to begin the week. Thank you, Royal Ballet.
Amazing choreography and love the idea of the lighting! So simple but looks so profound.

Gorgeous. The dancers, the choreography, the music, all of it. Stunning.
took my breath away and put a tear in my eye. This choreography and the dancers are just so moving.
The Royal Ballet Touring Company performed this great ballet extensively on tour before the amalgamation with the resident company.
That music is fabulous!
