"Angelina Ballerina" "HiT Entertainment" "Ballerina" "Girls Cartoon" Angelina Mouseling" "The Show Must Go On" "Nick Jr" "Nick Jr Show"
The thumbnail was a masterpiece of art good job mister.
I haven't looked back at Angelina Ballerina (both the original and the CGI series) for a very, very, very long time. It was one of the shows that I watched, along with Kipper the Dog and even Thomas the Tank Engine, on a daily basis. And I gotta say, that review of yours is really good. Nice job.
Also, some little fun facts:
1. The US dub of The Next Steps brought back Jo Wyatt to voice Gracie.
2. There were plans for a theatrical live-action Angelina Ballerina film (alongside films for Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine) by HiT Movies, but never saw the light, due to Mattel's acquisition of HiT Entertainment.
3. There were plans for an Angelina Ballerina revival by Mattel, but was never in development.
4. Rachael Louise Miller, who voiced Alice Nimbletoes in the UK dub of The Next Steps, would later go on to voice Rebecca and a few other characters for the Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures! era, as well as narrating the All Engines Go portion of the Thomas & Friends Storytime podcast.
As much as I think angelina in live action would be super uncanny (unless they took the Rodger rabbit approach) I find it so cool that HiT was planning on making theatrical films, shame they got bought out so soon :/ do you have a source/article link with this info?
@@PamsWorld101 Unfortunately, I don't, and I honestly can't remember where. But I can say that the fact that HiT planned three movies for their respective brands (AB, BTB and TTTE) did surprise me at the time The Adventures of Thomas was announced (and eventually cancelled).
I had this on video I loved the series literally everytime I got home from school I never missed an episode its... 20 years old now ahhhh my childhood 💔🔙😭
I too was quite fond of Angelina Ballerina as a kid, and I've been wondering what some kind of RUclips retrospective on it would look like, and you satisfied that wonder.
Looking back on it now, I do agree that Angelina was quite a drama queen. She's not Caillou-level whiny, as you've given a concrete explanation of the outcomes of her outbursts, but she's roughly Arthur's age, making her response to things not going her way somewhat inexcusable.
Setting that aside, the original series also has quite a bit of good out of it, as you've pointed out. I can't say the same about the CGI Next Steps series, though.
Also, your drawing of Angelina in the thumbnail and the end is really cute
I’m glad you enjoyed it, and thank you!
You know I remember wanting to watch this show when I was a kid because I absolutely loved mice!
However, I avoided it since it was ballet which I thought was a “girls” thing….
Nowadays I know that male ballet dancers are a thing and they’re actually pretty badass!
Male ballerinas are pretty cool, its a shame, you missed out on this show as a kid but there's no harm in liking it now, girly things can be great
@@PamsWorld101 yeah they are! When I was about 17, my father tried to get me to do a summer ballet class (he was trying to find something for me to do besides play video games all summer) and I turned it down. He explained to me about male dancers and I didn’t believe him.
Also, I think I was about 10 when Angelina was somewhat new, or at least when I first heard about it. At that age I got hassled by my folks and other kids for still liking Thomas and Friends, no way this show would’ve flown!
You should’ve seen my folks’ reaction when I got into MLP FIM!
@@bladeobrian2144 Ah I see, that really sucks, no one should make you feel ashamed over what you like :/
@@PamsWorld101 eh no worries!
A lot of my aversion to female things in the past was really me suppressing actual feminine desires I had/have. I’ve always gotten along better with girls and women than boys and men, which is why I’ve realized I’m actually female on the inside!
@Emmet Brickowski I’ll watch football now and then, but I’ve always been a terrible athlete. Which is a shame considering I’m 6’4”, I just never had the right mindset.
Another great review. I remember watching this special many years back. I was a big fan of Angelina Ballerina when I was young. 🩰
Looking back at this, Mr Operaski (if that’s how you spell his name) was a bit full of himself. I really like how you made Stuart Little look like Angelina with the bow and the pink tutu, I found that incredibly funny. Have you ever watched Angelina Ballerina: Princess Dance? It’s basically a similar plot except they perform the Sleeping Beauty ballet. It has slightly more upgraded animation but it’s still in its hand-drawn format.
Fun fact: Finty Williams (voice of Angelina and Mrs Hodgepodge) is the daughter of Miss Lilly’s voice, Dame Judi Dench. I wasn’t sure if you already knew that but I found that out a few years ago and I couldn’t believe it.
Thank you! I haven't seen the other Angelina specials but I'll keep my eye out for them
And I had no idea! thats super interesting, the talent must run in the family lol
Wait, angelina and mrs hodgepodge have the same voice actor?!
@@shapejaper1667Goes to show that Finty Williams has some impressive vocal range.

I watched some Angelina Ballerina when I was younger. I actually liked it a lot. It had a lot of charm.
The Next Steps, on the other hand, was not good. As you said, the models do not look right. Angelina Ballerina is a good example of how not to make a cg series. On top of that, it had boring writing and the characters are so bland, they don't even feel like the same characters.
I wanna see a Angelina Ballerina continuation that actually continues the character's story. And one that has better animation.
An Angelina continuation would be awesome! I’d love to see the series take in a new and better direction with a cute animation style
I completely agree! In the next steps, angelinas personality has changed a lot, william and henry never appeared in the show and EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER is her friend
@@PamsWorld101 You'd think that with DuckTales being as popular as it is that Mattel would jump on the bandwagon of reboots and revivals.
@@shapejaper1667 Exactly. In the original run, she had rivals and people who didn't like her. And her friends would often get mad at her for making bad decisions. Next Steps makes all the characters like Angelina to a strange degree. She doesn't have rivals and her friendships aren't tested.
@@ChrisLShack1998 ikr. The next steps is so un-interesting and bland
I found your channel randomly and I must say I really like the reviews that you do and your voice is really calming and nice to listen to!! (I'm surprised you aren't more popular haha, it was a shock to look at your subscriber count but at least I can say I was here early xD)
Thanks for reviewing this, it was really nice! If I may add a little suggestion about the sound effects you add (for example 1:18) if you could make them match the rest of the audio in volume 😅? They are really funny additions to the video and definitely crack me up but they blasted my ears at 5 AM and I got so spooked haha. (There was one also in the Balala the Fairies review and I seriously thought my headphones might blow xD) I hope that wasn't too rude ^^''!
I look forward to binging the rest of your videos and being here for your future uploads :)
Thank you, I honestly can't believe people like these silly videos I make lol but your comment means a lot!
As for the volume thing I like to add some overly loud moments in clips because I find it funny but I'm trying to use it sparingly in more recent stuff so I don't have to use it as a crutch all the time, but I can understand if its not your thing (and dw you weren't being rude at all ^^)
Just a warning though, if you watch the Mr Men video, I'd advice not to wear headphones as there's loads of loud moments in that one, I was a bit crazy then haha
@@PamsWorld101 Thank you for the reply!! (And I will heed your advice, haha)
Personally, I do enjoy those moments, they are a very nice little 'snack' in the middle of a review video and it does amp up the fun factor! It's definitely my thing - heck knows I watch game compilations and whatnot, but again it was only the volume that was a bit surprising. Though it's 100% ok to make your videos however you like and I'll definitely be continuing to watch yours nonetheless!
Hope you're having a great day :)
@@emypony Thank you! I keep in mind to try levelling out the volume in parts that aren't meant to be too loud in the future
Thanks again for the support, and my day's been alright 👍
2:29 RIK FUCKING MAYALL
you know I have never seen anyone review this show angelina ballerina before!
Can you make some more danger mouse content (maybe a danger mouse out of context part 2) because to me searching any 2015 danger mouse content on youtube is almost impossible
