Gustavo, I still have this Beetle and I in fact brought it back out yesterday to this years event which was one year after you filmed my Beetle. I want to thank you for appreciating what I have created and to take the time to post it on RUclips so that others can enjoy it as much as you did.
my favorite german car i wish i had the money to do this to my 68 been having my bug since i was 6yrs old an now im 20 an im not going to let go of it... maybe on of these days ima buy my dad a split window his always wanted one.. this is one of the cleanest bug i had ever seen on youtube NICE!!!!
Amazing piece of art! This beauty babe will put smile on your face. Great job done just for an year. Thank you for restoring it and thank you for uploading this video.
Good eye to catch this one video. I restored an old '67 back in '80-'81. Mine was nowhere near as nice but I remember it fondly. Beautiful video of a gorgeous bug.
For those of you who left the positive comments, thanks. I am the owner/BUILDER of this Beetle. I did the restoration all by myself with the exception of the interior, engine rebuild and the body and paint work over the course of an 18 month period. I removed and replaced every nut and bolt of this Beetle myself. During the restoration I was searching for all of the accessories on the internet and through friends. Don't hate what I BUILT, rather enjoy what I BUILT,
Do you know what brand it´s that coffee maker??, that´s the most amazing accessory I have ever seen in a VW vintage beetle!!! Really great VW. That´s why everybody loves them.
beetle1835: You are correct, no VW came equipped with so many accessories, that is because they are just that, accessories. Just because the accessories on my Beetle do not all come from the same country does not make them incorrect. When people look at my Beetle they do not just look at the Beetle or the accessories, rather they reminisce about having one of their own in the past or knowing of one during their younger years. When your Beetle is complete post it on youtube so we can view it.
The front hood is held up by a stick to prevent unwanted stress on the front hood which causes stress cracks. The original hood prop is still in place just not used.
Love the Car - I am just wrapping up my 56 ragtop project. It's not a true restoration but I am hoping it will look pretty clean. My body is a 56' but the pan and suspension are from a 69' and the engine is an 1835 that was stolen back from a sand rail. I kind of like that it is a little bit of a frankenstein beetle because it took the true restoration pressure off and I can just make it mine instead. I can't wait to drive it again it has been off the road for a full year in order to do a p
yer ppl like this bore me,he probably bought it in retirement and spent his retirement earnings on it just to hear ppl comment and say nice things, don't get me wrong ,it IS a wonderful example.I done my apprenticeship as a VW mechanic and over the years have learn't to spray paint as well, not the greatest but enough to do my own VW projects, yes like you i find the greatest satisfaction is building ur own special, sure there will be times when you need to pay someone, thats what makes it better !!
Thank you for your comment, this car is unbelievable. I shot and edited the whole thing from my iPhone, unreal what we can accomplish form our phones nowadays. Cheers.
In know way to discredit Crown Restorations but all that was done at this shop was the body work and paint. The interior you see is how it was when I bought the Beetle. Engine was rebuilt by Competition Engineering. Powder coating done by Glendale Powder Coating. Dis-assembly and re-assembly done entirely by myself with the help of absolutely no one.
If I had been asked to be in the video I would have declined it because I do not like to be filmed or photographed. This is not about me, it is about what I created so as to share with others which is the purpose of this video of which I am thankful for.
The coffee maker is a Paluxette. I am looking for one to put in my 66 bug, but they are hard to find. Sometimes they pop up on ebay, but way to expensive. I have not found any reproductions either.
Sour grapes..... What difference does it make. He has a beautiful little car there, that DIDN'T TURN INTO A DUNE BUGGIE!!! Now those are a destruction of a cute little car! We all love our bugs!!!
Thanks for your great comments, it is a true labor of love. The hub caps I found on theSamba and they are still available. I refer to them as the Flying Swastika.
It has been proven by many scientist and day time experts that there is more than 8 hours in 1 day, they're still not 100% sure, but are positive that it's true, they're still in the process of recovering more information about it.
i totally agree with you. over done with the extras. like he has all the money in the world to just buy anything he could imagine. anybody can have a bug just like this with enough moneyto pay for somebody else to build it for them. im building my bug myself so it probably wont turn out this nice but i will have done it all myself. i would much rather see cars that people actually built themselves than this at a show.
@Patsbug66 You, sir, are the mistaken one... just kidding with the sarcsm. 40HP was actually used, for lack of a better word, before '66. I own a '63 1200cc 40HP (all original).
the difference is no VW came equipped with so many accessories, maybe up to five in each country,so,what do ppl actually come to see,the Volkswagen or the accessories, and as for...who even mentioned dune buggies,oh yeah ,YOU......ps,don't get me wrong,i got accessories as well in my beetle, but only what was issued here in Australia, and only maybe a couple(rear window blinds and Aussie issue Stainless headlight grills)are on the car full time....we all love our dakdaks
woooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaa¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ el mas lindo de los que vi me acabo de comprar uno 1956 en color negro y me gustaria aber donde comprar la cafetera y ascesorios gracias
Beautiful bug, but are you sure it's got 36 horsepower? 56, they whether have 30 or 34 if I am not mistaken. But anyways, amazing looking car you got there :]
Hola! encantado con este beetle, ¿tendrás el e-mail de Lief el dueño?, tengo algunas preguntas que hacerle acerca de los accesorios que le puso. realmente una obra maestra. Saludos desde Mty, Mex.
The air cooled VWs never had over 100 horsepower from the factory. You don't need that much in a car that size. I have a '73 Super Beetle with a 1600, and it only has about 60-70 horsepower.
SOLD! Are you in the United States? BRAND NEW 1956 Beetle. Two years on the restoration with three years on the engine rebuild that has less than 800 milers on the odometer as of 8/31/2012. Provide me with your Fathers number and we will strike up a deal. Sorry, but I cannot sell this Beetle as it was built as a tribute to my late Father, to much sentimental value in it but thanks for the offer.
...also no VW Beetle or any other variant came accessorised to the nines like you see here, also why is the bonnet held up by a stick, that is not a stock item. And also not all those acessories were available in one country, its obvious the owner has scoured the world for all these parts
nice beetle, but did the owner actually build it or did he spend countless dollars and got OTHER people to build it.....i'd say the latter !!!..............i'd definitely add a stonking 84mmx94mm and leave it as a sleeper
also, you say to the lad they go like go-karts,WOW ......a 36HP did that,u'd better send me some of that peyote you were on at the time,if you want a real go-kart feel jump into a stroker VW !!!
Pretty decent car Too many accessories not Vw relateted... Accessories are aftermarket not original Vw pieces. Ive seen way better Vw restorations at the Vw Classic in California held every June annually. If you want to see perfection go to the Vw shows in Germany and the Vw Classic im California!!!!!
I'm not really good at taking sarcasm and there is a part of me that wants to say something quite unpleasant about your remark. Be that as it may, you know what I meant. You should be very careful. There are people out there who have zero tolerance for sarcasm.
Every piece of bolt on catalog junk imaginable. Makes it look tacky. But, it's all a matter of someone's taste, or the lack thereof. The reverse lights don't belong on a 56 and won't work unless you have a 67 trans. Where's your Bud vase?
Gustavo, I still have this Beetle and I in fact brought it back out yesterday to this years event which was one year after you filmed my Beetle. I want to thank you for appreciating what I have created and to take the time to post it on RUclips so that others can enjoy it as much as you did.
Yeah its true: "They feel like go-karts". I had one 1972 as my first car, still miss it.
my favorite german car i wish i had the money to do this to my 68 been having my bug since i was 6yrs old an now im 20 an im not going to let go of it... maybe on of these days ima buy my dad a split window his always wanted one.. this is one of the cleanest bug i had ever seen on youtube NICE!!!!

For those of you who left the positive comments, thanks. I am the owner/BUILDER of this Beetle. Beautiful car! Great restoration.
Very nice, reminds me of my little 1960 Beetle.

wordeful work, congratulations from mexico
@98yoojin You sir are sadly mistaken.
The bugs were a measly 36 HP until 1966 when the engine was bumped up slightly to 40HP.
In know way to discredit Crown Restorations but all that was done at this shop was the body work and paint. The interior you see is how it was when I bought the Beetle. The coffee maker is a Paluxette. I am looking for one to put in my 66 bug, but they are hard to find. Sometimes they pop up on ebay, but way to expensive. I have not found any reproductions either.

This is cool.
They sold 21,000,000 VW bugs, that makes it the 4th most selling car of all time!
Another great example from the guys at Crown restoration Phx AZ
simplemente hermoso. felicidades al dueño.
@Patsbug66 You, sir, are the mistaken one... just kidding with the sarcsm.
