This concert is the whole album Be performed live before the album was released. All their albums are concepts, so all songs make much more sense when in context. And it's a hell of a journey each time. Try any of the first 5 albums and you'll get the picture. And no, nothing like all the names you mentioned for comparison, but you'll always find a lot of familiar sounds, only geniously unique. Just listen to them, words can't fully discribe. It's a band to digest slowly. Lyrics are hard over genious and beautiful music that goes chaotic at times.
Beautiful orchestration and it kinda sorta reminded me of X Japan's Rose of Pain a bit...just a little. (It's a Wheel of Fortune "Before and After" puzzle! Rose of Pain of Salvation!) I have never heard of these guys and have no idea what they are about otherwise...although, if I had go by the band name, I am guessing prog rock or something heavy-handed....
Well, people like to say it's progressive metal, but it's way much more than that. This band has no boundaries to their music and each album, each song, is very different from the others, but always awesome, always with deep lyrics and complex twists.
the song is part of a conceptual Album/stage play recorded live and the title is the latin for "The Wicked Path" or something similar. is abut Mr. Money an powerfull man who had himself cryogenically frozen until he could be made immortal. Since he has all the wealth and power, once he was made immortal he would essentially be God. The song begins when he is awaken, just to find that the planet and humanity has been destroyed ans there is nothing more than ruins on the earth. , however, he refuses to die, saying that he would rather rule the destroyed world than 'cross the line.
FYI, This is out of the concept album BE, the only one written and performed with orchestral accompaniment. This song is about Mr. Money (from earlier in the album) waking up from cryogenic sleep to find out the earth is devastated - but instead of reconciling his responsibility (as an industrialist mogul whose companies probably did little to protect the environment. yes, it's a hippie notion) he instead chooses to continue his rule as if nothing happened. "iter impius" in Latin means "the path of the wicked/unrepentant". This whole album has Latin for song titles and concepts, to avoid imposing the normal cultural implications of recognized concepts like God - it deals with questions of humanity and divinity. Other albums are NOTHING LIKE IT.
I got a little Dream Theater out of this. Not very familiar with this band. So I will need to listen to more before passing judgment but I really liked this one. You and me, we come from different worlds You like to laugh at me when I look at other girls Sometimes you're crazy then you wonder why I'm such a baby 'cause the dolphins make me cry Well there's nothing I can do I've been looking for a girl like you
This is clearly different, but I need to hear more from them before I could make to fair decision. I like to request Majestica - Beyond the Sky - it's the lead guitarist of Sabaton, doing a side project.
cool mate. I think you should listen to more, because they are so extremely diverse! They cover a lot of ground, this particular album is with orchestra, but the others are not. But all phantastic though, I love them!
Lol...everything that Capitaomac1 said. For me the live version is very good though in my opinion the studio version is even better and I'd say sounds more complete and then especially when it bleeds into the next song Martius/Nauticus II...They can take a bit to digest but the payoff is very rewarding or at least to me anyways 🙂👍
I agree. The whole album is way better studio version. This live performance was really a sketch to the album. Actually it was kind of a nightmare for the label and puzzled the fans, but it is one of their (many) best albums to me.
dude, check out Nightmist live from the Ending themes DVD, chills everytime. also, stay away from their newer stuff, it is garbage, everything of theirs up to 2007 are masterpieces. Daniel Gildenlöw, the singer, is at the same level of maynard from tool in terms of genius writing
My favorite band! You earned my subscription.
Thank you!

Im not in POS yet but i here they are as good as
Opeth Meshuggah Soen Katatonia Sabbaton Ghost
Its a gift to have them left to explore.
An incredibly important metal band.

This is my favourite PoS album, and a total game changer for how music was for me

You and me, we come from different worlds
You like to laugh at me when I look at other girls

Check the studio version along with the next track Martius/Nautius II...along with the 2 albums prior to this...I think you'll enjoy
This was Awesome!

dude, "In The Passing Light of Day" (2017) is a goddamn masterpiece.
I was just gonna say the exact same thing, ITPLoD is right up there for me with their best
could u just stop talking in between when the song is playing? whats the point of reacting if u dont listen to it properly?
