Wind and sunshine!! Interesting- seems like the weather interacting with the land would stay fairly consistent over time- have you found any record of the winds? Cute houses 👌😎

@@JenniferLupine Still learning about the Green Run. I know they did radio nucleotide (?) lol tests on the ground after the test and surveys found a big area got coated. It wasn’t JUST radiation that was airborne….they released a toxic mix with chemicals that give the cocktail a long half life. Cows eat the grass, cows give milk…you get the idea. The positive surveyed area was mostly South of the discharge whereas normally it would be found north due to the south wind. There was a huge cover up and it took people decades to settle. Downwinders…it’s a thing.

I'm massively into local social history and love looking through old photos of Nottingham city and surrounding towns and villages, particularly from the 1950's, when my late mum and dad were a young couple and the 1960's, when I was born and the 1970s/80s, a golden era imo...To see all the wonderful shops, stores, department stores, small family businesses, cinemas, markets, cafes, etc, etc, the vast majority of which no longer exist. Thank goodness for the photographers, both pro and enthusiast, who went out and captured all those wonderful shots for posterity, we owe them all a salute.
Really like the shots you got here!...Presuming the s9, and that B&W look you got there is fantastic! Did you use a LUT?, or is it a standard in-cam profile?, or in post?....Just curious because they look so great!...and I love that aspect ratio = cool cinematic vibes!.....nice work Dan..😎

Yes, the S9 with 20-60mm and a LUT I’ve been working on with an emphasis on the mid tones. Still in progress because the available light keeps changing (seasonal) and throwing me off. I liked this set up a lot though…good grayscale mids 👍
I live in an original atomic city, one of three or four in the USA. So pretty much everything man made is from the 1940s and beyond. Many buildings in the area were gov’t built then later turned to a more civilian friendly environment lol.

@@DanFarrar TBH, I would save a copy of that LUT as is, it's really good. Sometimes I can keep tweaking things, and some more, and loose that little sweet spot you instinctively knew was good/has hit the mark, and I'm not inferring that will happen with how you are developing and refining this LUT, but it instantly hit me how great this particular B&W look was..just sayin'......I liken it to a painter knowing when to stop adding paint to the canvas, knowing when the painting is finished....Whatever, it's a great looking black and white profile, regardless.

@@innercityunit2112 I get it completely lol. I’ve saved my current LUT as is and will build from new with old settings. I really like it too and knew it on the first click. The part that is making it inconsistent is the available light and how mixed it has been lately. The photo style is Monochrome (the plane one, first one shown B&W). I did a backward S curve, and something with color too - when I get in LUMIX Lab next I’ll dissect it and find out what I did right lol. I’m encouraged that you saw what I saw though…means I’m on a good track! lol the mid grayscales are the goal. BTW, the VND filter is involved too. The VND is amazing at fine tuning the exposure for photos even on an overcast day. I leave the ND at 3, find my exposure and tap the ND right or left and tune it in lol. That might be part of the mid tone wonderfulness…not sure.

@@DanFarrar Yes I think you are deffo on the right track, just don't forget to keep notes!, instead of how TF did I do that?!🤔😉😂
      Seriously though, nice work mate!..💪👍
