Went to audition for gig last week and I couldn't connect to the CDJ-3000s. After watching this video, I realized I needed to update to Rekordbox 6 to unlock hardware lol. Thanks again for an informative video. I don't think I saw other YT videos that mention updating to RB 6.
Great vid, could you please do in-depth vids on the DJSM-11 mixer pad functions: Loop Scratchbank Sampler Deck move & Ableton linking : Audio routing & Midi movement from dj set recording. Thank you for the consistent helpful content.
On HID mode don’t you have to connect the cdjs to your laptop(direct or with a hub) then of you wanna switch with the next dj he just have to connect to 1 of the cdjs and switch the button to B
This took a while but I have to say that this is a major improvement to playing with cdj 2000s in serato HID mode. The loop section of the 3000 still confuses the hell out of me though. Why did pioneer think that this complicated mess is better than one clickable knob. I have that on my ddj-sp1 and it is the greatest thing ever invented. looping without looking at the buttons is just better in every way. Seems like I will still bring my sp1 with me in the future...
There are 3 ways to loop and control your loop on a CDJ-3000. 1. Manually with the amber manual loop buttons 2. Dedicated 4 and 8 beat buttons (which allow you to control the loop length easily) 3. Autoloop menu on the touch display And keep in mind, while it's not a knob, you can easily half-time or double-time the loop using the 4 and 8 beat loop buttons. That goes for any method you engage a loop. The reason there isn't a knob is because you get more choice, and not mistake a loop length by overshooting. 1. Manual loops allow you to fine tune the loop lengths without quantization to grid. 2. Dedicated loop buttons help you quickly engage a loop and be able to adjust the loop length by clicking the left or right button (harder to make a mistake) 3. Autoloop menu lets you select a specific loop length without scrolling through a selection. You get the loop length you want without "browsing" through a length. It's quick and to the point.
I know you have also the air m2 right? Do you have problems wifh the cdj 3000s? If I‘m using this setup the waveforms on the devices are heavely lagging :(
Great Video As Always. About the USB Hub on the S11, unfortunately Pioneer DJ says it is not recommended to connect the CDJ 3000’s through the S 11’s hub . Which is quite strange and mind Boggling. Luckily for me I have a lot of USB ports on my computer so I just connected them directly. Could it be software related? Because I am yet to test my setup with Serato. I would be interested to know your take on that.
@ernie to back up what PJ said, the hub is in our recommended setup configuration diagrams with HID mode for pretty much all software. The only one we are iffy about is Phase, as while it usually works, the power draw on Phase can go up and down a bit. The 3000’s draw no power however…
@@priyonjoni I will send you the source soon..Exactly why I was super baffled, others on the forum were shocked as well. But I put up the complaint there because I experienced a difference in response whilst scratching when connected to the DJM -S11 hub vs my computers USB 3 hub. Unfortunately I can’t post screen shots here so I will post the links for you to read for yourself . But I am yet to test with Serato
@Ernie Augustus for sure. Just letting you know, Drew here is the product planning manager, and I am one of the demonstrators. We both highly recommend the hub for use with CDJs. When you think about it, what else could they be primarily used for if not CDJs? What we don’t recommend is using it for a usb storage drive.

Media players like the CDJs are “accessory devices” to Serato and hold no “hardware unlock” capabilities. That will always and only be determined by a mixer, DJ controller, or an interface. Check out this video called, “Serato License Explained” ruclips.net/video/Qw347ucPO_g/видео.html

No prob!
That’s an awesome controller. Thanks for the demo…
Now what's so amazed on my DDJ FLX6 I MIDI mapping one the pads that some of them weren't available, so I use that one the same thing to. 10:37
Awesome video! Will love to watch the deck move video
For sure!
Can you use cdjs with rane 70/72 in HiD mode like you doing in the video? I haven't seen a single video where djs using rane mixer with cdjs.

May I ask where you got that information? I work for Pioneer DJ and the main reason for that hub is to use with CDJs, including the CDJ-3000.

Hey great video I looking for the stem mapping for the sm 11
You don’t need it. There is a native mapping built in now in djay for the S11! It’s plug and play, try it out. 🙂
So nobody noticed the display saying „REV1“ 3 months ago?! :)
I thought Serato DJ Pro was unlocked with the CDJ 3000 but it's asking me to subscribe. I have the DJM 900 NXS2 as well.

@@priyonjoni Okay I seen that Accessory devices on the Serato page didn't know what that meant? Thanks for the response. :-)
using serato dj appears double waveform?
Stacked waveform on the cdj display only works when using it in standalone. It is a Pro DJ Link feature and does not work in HID mode.
is it works for CRSS12?
Did price on cdj3000 went up?
yeah $100
Ayyy 5 Views gang... can't believe it takes 1 year to get serato support. But i get why 😥😥
